Interesting comment from Braverman on why she’s not standing as leader – I tend to agree with her though I wonder why she doesn’t quit the party and join Reform or sit as an independent – it doesn’t make much sense to be a member of a party you don’t want to lead because they are not on the same page as you.

It would look churlish if she joined Reform straight away. Give it a few months!

“Death of the landline”- as people try and save money. Including work has done the same (mostly). The problem is if you need to dial 999- now where is my mobile? oh dear it is flat!

Landline tech is being switched-off in 2025. According to the letter I received, you can request a battery-backup for your hub in case of power cut however that could be just increasing complexity at the point of use which may be a problem for some.

The Mail doesn’t appear to mention this switch-off but here’s the BBC informing the children in 2021:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/58233766

Edit: and BT claims for most it will be a case of connecting the phone handset to the hub (not on my BT hub). A wireless handset with a mains-powered base unit will still be a problem in a powercut.

…after a protest at which a film was allegedly screened in contempt of court, reports the Standard.

Absolutely obvious State persecution: when did you last hear of someone being arrested for contempt of court under the Terrorism Act the day before a court hearing to decide whether he was in contempt of court? If showing a “libellous film” is now terrorism, then we’re well into totalitarian territory.

My reading is that Robinson was pretty certain that the Judge would jail him for the showing of the film in the USA last year, and decided he might as well be jailed for making the film widely known as for a hole-in-corner showing.

Ah, I see. The Terrorism Act was used because (a) there is no right to silence, so that refusing to answer makes you guilty of terrorism, and (b) they can demand access to your phone, and although there is an exemption for journalists with privileged information (about police corruption!) on their phone, they can ignore that when he refused, and he’s guilty of terrorism for refusing.

It sounds rather like the Trump case where you can be convicted of a felony without anybody actually demonstrating that a felony was committed, or what it was.

And so if some bent cop wants to silence a whistleblower, the Terrorism Act is as useful as Section 58 was in the USSR. No actual terrorism was used in the making of this vendetta.

Here is Tommy’s ‘controversial’ film ( 1hr 45mins ) ‘Silenced’. I’ve only watched half so far but it’s excellent and I’d urge everyone to give it a watch. It reveals the depth of corruption and lies of the media, judiciary and politicians as they collectively continue to manipulate and work against the citizens. Excellent, high quality production from Tommy and his team once more;

”They do not want you watching this movie.

They have detained Tommy under the terrorism act.

SILENCED exposes the corruption and coverups by our politicians and mainstream media.

The Establishment is not on the side of the people.”

The film is no doubt benefitting from the Streisand effect. Having never heard of it, I went to see what was so controversial (also available on more than one YouTube channel). Certainly worth watching.

I’ve watched it. I can’t say I was entirely convinced, and his tactics have perhaps placed individuals in danger, but nevertheless, the state appears to be behaving in a heavy-handed way.

The Mail has another rape “exclusive” from Natalie Lisbona. For some reason, these don’t seem to be big stories in the Israeli media. The Grayzone has an interesting article on her previous Mail “exclusive”.

A distraction might be beneficial right now:

“Netanyahu pulled one of the oldest tricks in the book: He came into Washington riding on a promise, and then – after the Israeli public saw him receiving his standing ovations in Congress – decided to quickly revert back to his rejectionist position…The Congress members who were in the chamber, serving as props for Netanyahu’s political campaign, now share part of the blame. Instead of using the opportunity to pressure him, they stood up to clap for him. The hostages and their families will pay the price.”

“Janet Yellen calls for $78,000,000,000,000 to tackle climate change” I guess human hubris is irrepressible? We have the well known story of King Canute proving that he could not control the tides and yet we are supposed to believe that by spending all this money the climate on earth will be different than is we do not spend all this money. The question is not whether the climate is changing or not, nor is it whether humans had any impact on the climate in the past, the question is whether any action we take now will have the slightest impact on the future climate of the world? It seems to me that it is the height of human hubris, conceit, ego and arrogance to think that humans can take actions now that will cause the weather to be different in 30 years time to what it will be if we do nothing. Over the last few years it seems the agenda has been to condition people to believe nonsense and impossible things culminating in this sort of breathtaking spending of huge amounts of money on something that may or may not do any good and which we cannot properly assess… Read more »

And inflation is such that the energy used in printing all the money needed will raise global temperatures by several degrees.

So this is ridiculous and reminiscent of that South African runner who would beat the female competitors by a country mile, not because they’re trans but because they have the testosterone levels of a man and XY sex chromosomes, but they have a vagina so get lumped in with the women. Just let these people have a category of their own then, so they can compete against each other. Why is that so controversial? If it’s not a level playing field then it’s not a fair competition, as Captain Obvious would say; ”Two athletes competing at the Paris Olympics as “women” were previously disqualified from a women’s world championship for having “XY chromosomes.” Imane Khelif of Algeria and Lin Yu-Ting of Taiwan are scheduled to compete in Olympic women’s boxing next week despite past questions surrounding their biological sex. The Women’s World Boxing Championships took place in March of 2023 and was hosted in New Delhi, India. A total of 324 boxers from 64 nations competed during the 10-day trial, marking the largest participation in any iteration of the championship ever recorded. However, the grand event was marred by controversy after Umar Kremlev, president of the International Boxing Association (IBA),… Read more »

Yes it’s a sick joke. They apparently have all of these super strict rules around doping and taking various stimulants but the fact your opponent has the testosterone levels of a man and XY chromosomes somehow doesn’t fall under the category of what’s considered cheating. I don’t know what the repercussions would be for these ladies if they refused to compete because they might lose sponsorships, funding etc, but surely they’re well within their rights based purely on health and safety grounds! But this here is cheating, pure and simple. These ‘faux women’ shouldn’t be allowed to compete. They can’t even compete against eachother because one of them would still most likely get to the final and win the title, robbing the actual women of their rightful achievement;

”Absolutely disgusting that this Italian lady Angela Carini has to fight this Algerian man Imane Khalif in the Olympics. On Aug 1st. How is this fair..????”

Tommy Robinson ‘arrested under anti-terror laws’

Please take time to watch his banned documentary film “Silenced”, exposing the appalling injustice of that case— it is well worth it:
