Live and Let D.E.I.

Kamala Harris was a ‘diversity’ pick for Vice President. It was her skin pigmentation and the type of reproductive organs she had that got her the job. Call it identity politics. Call it affirmative action. Call it the disregard for, or despising of, the old-fashioned notion of merit. Her own accomplishments, especially in the political and electoral realm, were thin gruel. Biden wanted a black woman. He made that clear. He was going to choose from that 6% of the U.S. population. And he did. He opted for Ms. Harris.

Now Kamala Harris had run for the Democratic Party presidential nomination back in 2020. But she dropped out before a single state had voted, before the Iowa primary. She was polling just over 1% when she quit. That’s 1% of committed Democrat primary voters. And she was particularly unpopular with black male Democrat primary voters. So in 2020 not a single Democrat primary voter actually cast a vote for Kamala. Not one.

That said, Kamala Harris does have one political victory. It’s the only democratically chosen office that saw her run, required actual voters to pick the winner, and she won. That was back in 2010 when Ms. Harris ran for the office of Attorney-General of California. In that election Jerry Brown won the governorship against the Republican by 13 points. Barbara Boxer defeated her Republican opponent for the California Senate seat race that year by 10 points. And Kamala Harris defeated the Republican candidate in 2010 by – wait for it – 0.8% of the votes. And that’s in California, let me remind you.

Yet ‘Diversity, Equity and Inclusion’ came to her rescue and was the core reason that Joe Biden picked her as his running mate. Skin colour and female reproductive organs. That, after all, is what identity politics and ‘diversity’ policies are all about. Forget individual talents. Forget merit and hard work. Look at some desirable job (never undesirable ones) and then check to see what percentage of the overall population is made up by group X. If the job doesn’t have that percentage of group Xers then the only allowed explanation is ‘discrimination’. And the identity politics brigade pushes for a group X person.

But back to Sleepy Joe. As all readers will know, last weekend President Biden gave in to the pressure from the Democrat donors and bigwigs after his disastrous June debate performance and said he would not be running in this November’s election. He endorsed Kamala Harris. At the time of writing this piece so had both Bill and Hillary Clinton, some key Democrat Governors and some important Congressional Democrats. It is not certain but it sure looks as though our D.E.I. candidate, Kamala Harris, will be the Democrat’s presidential candidate. What can I say about this?

Firstly, whatever you might say about his mental state Joe Biden took 87% of the primary vote. By contrast, not a single Democrat primary voter actually voted for Harris. Not in 2024. Not in 2020. Not ever. If she gets the nod it would be the sort of elitist-driven decision-making procedure that would make the European Union Commission green with envy. No input at all from any voters, not even those in their own party. Kamala won’t just be Madame D.E.I., she’ll be the candidate of the DC elites, of the overtly Left-wing legacy media, and of the donor and Hollywood classes. Joe Biden had 14 million primary voters. Kamala had zero, nada, none. Kamala prevailed. The two questions now for her are whether any other Democrat will challenge her at the August Convention (it won’t be easy but it’s possible) and whether she can pry Joe Biden out of the presidency before the election. I think she’d prefer to run as the incumbent in November although I’m not certain that would in fact help her with the voters (such will be the obviousness of the stitch-up).

Next there is the question of whether Kamala Harris will do better in November against former President Trump than Joe Biden. Biden was down in all the polls. The day he announced he wouldn’t run a poll out of the key swing state of Michigan had Biden down seven points. My view for some time was that Trump would defeat Biden. And after the assassination attempt I figured it could be a big win, maybe a landslide. So in one sense, to use a bit of sporting terminology, you can see Kamala as the Hail Mary play. She’s a long shot, but at least she has a chance. Biden had no chance. The legacy media will go all in for her. The Dems and media will play the race card. The woman card. It will be D.E.I. talking points all day, every day. If she’s smart she’ll pick a Vice Presidential candidate from the Midwest because her only plausible path to victory is to sweep every single Midwest swing state. (Look for her to pick a white, male, Midwest Democrat Governor.)

All that said I think Kamala loses and loses by more than Biden would have. (That’s the downside of a Hail Mary play – the ceiling is high enough to allow for the slight chance of actually winning, but the floor is lower, possibly much lower, than what you’d have seen with Biden.) Kamala Harris was part of the Biden administration. In fact, she was the ‘border czar’ and has to wear that entire fiasco and the 11 million odd illegal immigrants his policies (deliberately or incompetently) let in. She has to wear the massive Biden inflation – a dollar on the day Biden became President is today barely worth 80 cents today. Wages have not remotely kept pace with that sort of inflation. Oh, and Kamala was an insider. She knew full well Joe Biden’s dilapidated, senile state. (Spoiler alert: So did all the lefty journalists who pretended for years Joe was just great. She lied. They lied.) She has to wear that too.

I want Donald Trump to win in November. I think it may be the most important election for the West in decades. To my mind, Joe Biden was the worst U.S. President in at least a century. I’ve had money on The Don to win now for well over a year – there are some nice bottles of wine that will come my way if he does. Nothing about the shift to Kamala Harris makes me think she’ll do better than Joe. But only time will tell. The Democrat Party has opted to Live or D.I.E. with D.E.I.

James Allan has written a good article, but he clearly doesn’t appreciate the significance of the passage of time and can’t imagine what can be, unburdened by what has been.

Excellent article that I agree with 100%. Can the Earth please just get back on its correct axis and once again prioritize competency for a particular role above everything else? Mogwai as per usual another impressive comment from you.
I am a newby and have only posted one comment before this one. I did not get any downticks, (to be honest I did not get any upticks either), as I joined and posted late one evening. With my views and opinions, I am sure that some, but fortunately not many, of the a*rseholes that comment on this site.will downtick purely because I do not agree with their narratives. To set the record straight from the off, I am not a Facist, Nazi or White Supremacist. I am sure I will be called those names by Woke, Libtards and Leftards. Bring it on as it makes me laugh out loud. As I believe that these people who use the said names only do so because they can not counter an argument and it is there way of shutting an argument down.

Thank you, Atrebates.😊 I agree 100% with what you say. They make me laugh with their petty name-calling too. They have nothing other than ad hominem and the usual predictable insults, so immediately they lose the debate and look like idiots. There’s less up/downticks anyway these days since DS changed the system so that only those with accounts can vote, which I think is much better. We are not here to people-please or for others’ entertainment, at the end of the day. But I share your philosophy and feel anyone can post anything and to pot with how it’s received, but there’s a surprising amount of people that get bent out of shape when challenged. I guess they can dish it out but they can’t take it. 😉
So on that note, you should stop by and share your views more often.🤓

And thank you. I have taken your last sentence on board.
I am a Patriot. The Leftards regard a Patriot as the names I expect I will be called as mentioned in my comment above. Where we have to be careful and very aware is the fact they will try to goad us to get a reaction. I believe they tried it yesterday by having someone with a Palestinian flag walk through the Patriot assembly at Trafalgar Square. I think it resulted in some violence. Recent voting in Europe has shown a swing to the right. Especially among younger people. Leftards are aware of this and are probably distraught by this fact. There answer is to antagonise people from whatever country with Patriotic views hoping that they can then make them out to be the the bad guys and haters that in reality they are themselves.

The UK until recently had a PM that nobody voted for and who was put there by his party’s insiders, against the vote of the British public (Johnson)and then the Conservative Party membership (Truss).

You know why nobody bats an eyelid? Because deep down everyone knows the western electoral system is a farce. It’s a pantomime that allows us to pretend that we chose our policies and our leaders.

But really we all know we don’t. Our policies are defined by technocrats and oligarchs and then we get to chose the schmuck who is going to sell it all to us as if we had chosen it all ourselves.

The only change now is that they’re not even trying that hard to mask the fact that it’s all bullshit and we just get what we are served up.

Although, just going by the number of people on this sceptical site that still thought the X they were allowed to scribble made a difference, I’d argue most people still don’t get it. Too many people still believe it’ll all be fixed by the very system that’s intentionally breaking it.

I agree that only a minority are conscious of the farce that is our system. But I think most people sense their powerlessness and they live with it persuading themselves that they are at odds with a majority and so fair play, rather than accept that we are all being railroaded by a small minority calling the shots. Accepting the latter creates too much cognitive dissonance. Our media of course prop up the illusion smotheringly and relentlessly. So it’s really very hard to see the reality. People would have to switch off establishment media entirely and expose themselves to alternative sources of info, the kind of media the establishment is aggressively trying to silence. I’m with ToF, in that what we have has the support of the majority. Just like in China most people are on the whole in favour of their government, their system and their policies. But not because any of us were ever given a choice. The consent of the majority is completely manufactured by a rigged system. The difference between our “democratic” system and “authoritarian” systems like in China’s is that we need to fool ourselves into thinking we chose things to tolerate it all, whereas… Read more »

The same kind of identity politics that sees TV adverts flooded with black people, despite the fact that only 4% of the country are black. It is virtually impossible to see a TV ad with 5 white people in it. DEI politics makes sure black people are not only represented, but grossly over represented by about 400%.. ——-This is utterly pathetic. Today in Politics there are 5 main agenda’s—Equality Diversity Race Gender and Climate, and no matter what the issue or the policy is those 5 agenda’s always have to be to the fore, and more importance is attached to this nonsense than the issue or the policy itself.

The adverts are ridiculous. So many show mixed marriages, which doesn’t bother me unduly but for the fact it seems the only mixed marriages are a black man and a white woman. Where are all the black women complaining about not being included in this bit of DEI?

People might say that we are complaining about “black people”. ——NO. We are complaining about them being stuck there to tick boxes and (1) So Corporations can appear to show how diverse they are and sell their products to all of society, and (2) To present to the public a happy smiling multicultural society.

I’d so look forward to seeing a debate between those two. OMG, grab the popcorn! lol Meanwhile, I agree with Kyle here. It’s just insane how bad things have gotten and Harris is like a walking advertisement for just how toxic and damaging this entire DEI thing is because she should never ever have become VP let alone running for president. There’s nothing ‘diverse’ about slowly but surely being ethnically cleansed from our own homelands due to this ongoing replacement the West is experiencing; ”Your skin color is not an achievement. Your gender is not an achievement. Your sexual preference is not an achievement. What you choose to do with your life and how you treat your fellow human beings is an achievement. Identity politics is a blind alley. It’s a dead-end preoccupation that sucks up energy you could spend on bettering your life and this country. Why doesn’t “diversity” include Christian sects (Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, etc.) or European family background (Italian, French, British, Greek, German, etc.)? I will posit this: DEI is a… Read more »

Anyone just fallen out of a coolabah tree might mistake the kookaburra for laughing at their predicament. As state prosecutor Kamala sent the convicted to jail. A useful CV when going up against Trump. But not the sort of thing that progressive leftists want in their pursuit of Utopia where the lion is supposed to lay down with the lamb. An Edenic state where illegal immigrants become ‘irregular’ citizens, men as women triumph over women in the ‘inclusiveness’ of sport, orderly classrooms are oppression, and children are liberated from the darkness of sexual ignorance by being taught anal sex. Though Kamala might advertise to the identity groups out of necessity, she may be oddly uncomfortable with their adoration that creates an expectation that her authentic self may not be able to fulfil. Though her laugh is derided by Trump, it is the sort of nervous reaction that reveals part embarrassment, part sardonic adjunct to the conflicted (as in Joni Mitchell’s song: “They say paradise, put up a parking lot (extended high-pitched chortle)”). As long as Kamala can avoid looking in respect to the aged deposed Biden like one of the daughters of Lear she can easily present as much more… Read more »

Just a few days ago everybody was sure Big Guy 10% would run, now everybody is sure Kamala will run. As Bill Clinton might say, it depends what you mean by sure.

Harris was Hobson’s choice if they wanted to transfer Joe’s campaign funds and not upset the uterus and melanin brigades.

So let’s see who is chosen (she won’t do the choosing) for her running mate before we get too ‘sure’ who actually will be presidential candidate.

It is very likely, IMHO, that in key voting districts in swing states there will be fraudulent ballots and vote rigging in favour of Democrats and whomever they nominate for President. Harris not yet the nominee. And the main stream media has already ramped up a high level of propaganda–worthy of Pravda–so many people, esp. Democrat voters will be influenced. Republicans may not vote in numbers sufficient to over come all this, just like what happened in 2020 and 2022. So it’s not a “slam dunk” for Trump/Vance, nor the downvoting for Democrats to lose the Senate and Republicans to keep the House. At this state the polls can’t be necessarily believed for a lot of reasons which I won’t go into here. So … watch. There will be more “October Surprises” in August, September, and October. Also remember there is a lot of voting started even in September, so those voters will be making their decision independent of what happens after that. We’ll see. As some have said, we are living “in history.”

Apparently there is a demo in Londonistan today with poeople demanding ‘We want our country back.’ Why wasn’t this publicised better as it is hopefully the first (of many) demos against the Liebour Government.

We now need properly orgnised and publicised demos every weekend all round the country as the real intentions of the Liebour Government are revealed. ‘No to Net Zero’ on one weekend. ‘Stop the boats – organised our own Border Force’ the next weekend. ‘Stop the destruction of civil society’ on a third weekend. Stop the evil ‘Gender Sickness in our Schools – deport the teachers who are pushing it’. etc.

State that the UK will have nothing to do with the evil WEF, evil Bill Gates, the WHO Pandemic Treaty. Ask that the people of Europe denounce the EU Green Deal & it’s Migration Pact … see this thundering put down of UvdL (on the day of her re-coronation) by a newly elected MEP from Poland … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86UeVXyvevs

Trump should win. But the Deep State is desperate to stop him and the assassination attempt failed so they can’t try that again.

I am expecting “a totally unforeseen emergency” which will prevent the Presidential election from going ahead on schedule and Biden to step down in favour of President Harris so that when “the totally unforeseen emergency” permits, she will be fighting for election as the Incumbent.

The Democrats will claim that they had the first black, female President and she successfully navigated the country through the “totally unforeseen emergency” thus proving that she has what it takes.

It won’t be over until the Fat Lady sings and she’s still in the dressing room warming up her vocal cords.

I hope Trump wins but the stakes are very high for the Deep State – so I’m not confident.

The Democratic Party weren’t going to waste a decent candidate on this election. It’s a poisoned chalice because Trump will win and then, embarrassment that she is, she will exit stage left – for ever.
