Muslim Entrepreneur Donates Hundreds of Thousands of Pounds to Reform
A Muslim entrepreneur has donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to Reform U.K., saying migrants who came to Britain legally are dismayed that “we have lost control of our borders”. The Telegraph has the story.
Zia Yusuf, who co-founded the luxury concierge app Velocity Black before selling it last year for £233 million, believes Nigel Farage alone has the policies to heal the “broken” country.
Mr. Yusuf’s donation to Reform, the biggest of the election campaign so far, is a major coup for a party which faces regular accusations of racism from its critics.
It is also a blow to the Conservatives, as the entrepreneur is a former member of the Tory Party but now thinks they are unable to make the “hard decisions”.
The 37-year-old, whose parents came to Britain from Sri Lanka in the 1980s and forged careers in the NHS, said the “vast majority of Muslims” in the country are patriots who believe net migration is too high.
He told the Telegraph: “My parents came here legally. When I talk to my friends they are as affronted as anyone by illegal Channel crossings, which are an affront to all hard-working British people but not least the migrants who played by the rules and came legally.
“I think Britain can be an amazing country, it’s the country of Dyson and DeepMind, but we have completely lost control of our borders, that is just factually correct.”
Mr. Yusuf claimed net migration was at 50,000 when his parents arrived in Britain, which made assimilation easier.
“Last year it was 650,000 and that’s causing the NHS to buckle under pressure, despite us spending more than we have ever spent on it. We are also not building enough homes to cope with the growing population.” …
He has no time for people who dismiss Reform’s policies as racist.
“I am a businessman, an entrepreneur, and I have come across racism and Islamophobia so I know what it looks like,” he said.
“Having spent time with Nigel Farage it’s clear to me that he wants the best for Britain and its people, no matter their religion or skin colour.
“No-one is more aware than I am of the contribution immigrants can make. My parents came here 40 years ago and they travelled all over the country to find work and advance their careers.”
Mr. Farage said: “I met Zia many years ago and know how devoted to this country he is. Aside from his generosity, he will be a great asset and media performer during this campaign and beyond.”

Well that won’t fit the BBC and MSM narrative, now will it.
Time for them to put hands over their ears and eyes (clever that bit) and chant la la la
My pub landlord was calling Farage a Nazi earlier this evening, quoting “Have I Got News For You” jibes at his personality. A film of him waving was mocked as he “hasn’t learned how to do the salute properly”
Several people in my drinking hole say they agree with his points but treat him as if he’s one step away from Herr H, the Austrian Painter. The media propaganda has tainted him, despite how pragmatic his voice is.
It’s an uphill struggle for him to be considered credible …
Then I’d hate to ask their opinions on Tommy Robinson. 😮
Actually Tommy has invited Farage to attend his freedom rally on July 27th and give a speech. Then Tommy has his court hearing on 29th.
Tommy’s not so diplomatic, but his Oxford University address was very well put. I stopped seeing him as a demon once I saw that (or in other words, I reversed my programming)
He’s not a bad person, he’s the boogie man. (I don’t think he’s a dancer by the way, it’s probably my spelling)
This statement makes little sense. Net immigration (not migration) 650,000 means 650,000 more people moved legally to the UK than people left. Hence, if a net immigration of 650,000 is a problem, as asserted by Mr Yusuf, than, this problem is caused by legal immigration and not illegal immigration. Ie, it’s not an issue with lack of border control but with promicuously handing out visas to anyone who wants them.
There is still thousands who come by boat on any given calm day in the Channel. That should be a National Security threat but they make that up as they go along.
According to government statistics, the total from April 2023 – March 2024 was 29,909, ie, about 82/ day on average. The real number is obviously going to be higher, but certainly not two orders of magnitude higher. I also didn’t mean to claim that this wasn’t an issue, but it’s an issue in its own right, independent of the net immigration 650,000 statement.
Yes indeed. Perhaps certain statements have been cherry picked for maximum effect, but perhaps not. Depending on your audience, complaining about illegals is an easier sell. Of course both are an issue, with different solutions, and with some side effects in common and some not – illegals are less likely on average to make a positive contribution, I would guess, but the legals outnumber them hugely.
Migrants: More than 880 people arrive in small boats in a day – BBC News
“Home Office figures show 882 people arrived in 15 small boats on Tuesday.
That was the highest daily total since October 2022, when 1,047 people arrived in UK waters in one day.”
From the same article:
By 18 June in 2023, the monthly total was 2,862, compared with 2,082 in 2022.
A total of 29,437 people came to the UK on small boats via the Channel in 2023.
Which makes about 81/ day on average in 2023.

Correct. Net legal immigration, at 685000 in 2023, is far higher than the illegal boat entries, which are guesstimated at about 40000 per annum. Legal immigration is equivalent to a new city almost the size of Leeds arriving EVERY YEAR, all of whom have to be fed, homed, watered, educated, and so on
UK Column have invited the main parties including Reform four times for an interview regarding Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals…..Not one of them have replied, they have media teams don’t they? Let’s hope Reform can get back to them!
Try asking all the candidates in your own area what their position is. If they’re not prepared to engage with a constituent, that’s an answer in itself. If you do ask, please share the response, or lack of.
I asked my Reform candidate for his views on “covid”. No reply. We’ve had no canvassers here (I’m at home all day most days). All we’ve had is a leaflet from the Greens who I think represent our ward on the District Council (mainly I think because they promised to stop a housing development on former Green Belt land – I also opposed this but only because the only reason we need more houses is because of immigration).
Ironic how the Greens, and all the other parties, generate vast quantities of waste when it suits their own ends.
I doubt they would come to my house.
Email all of them the same questions.
If Reform / Farage refuse an invitation from UK Column News then as far as I am concerned that is one massive, humongous Red Flag.
Why refuse one of our best broadcasting outlets? I have a feeling that UK Column are going to be met with stony silence. I couldn’t care less how the Uniparty responds although I would have looked forward to watching Brian Gerrish and Mike Robinson skewering the ducks they put up but for Reform to refuse – a big No No.
You call them one of our best broadcasting outlets but to be totally honest I’d never heard of them before I read your post.
Perhaps the parties are concentrating on mainstream news outlets to have their say, even if as in Reforms case they’re having a hard time being heard.
Is someone from Reform can find time for GBN or Talk-TV then they can find time for UKC. If not, they should be able to explain why not.
How refreshing to be reminded of the fact that not all Muslims agree with each other and have the same objectives when it comes to settling in a Western country. It seems to be more the ones with a migrant background and were born here who tend to oppose the uncontrolled immigration, and there are more sovereigntists like Zia Yusuf raising concerns; ”Many critics of the European Union describe themselves as sovereigntists, opposed to a European super-state as a new version of empire. However, they forget a key feature of the classical European sovereign state, i.e. its openness to immigrants and different ideas, cultural currents, and faiths. Modern-day sovereigntists reject the idea of a closed empire but wish to rule the nation-state as a mini-empire closed on itself. In at least half of the 27 EU member states, the sovereigntists based their discourse of fear of a “great replacement” on the claim that mass immigration is fundamentally altering the ethno-genetic composition of the European populations. According to some studies, this fear is shared by many second- and third-generation Europeans from immigrant backgrounds. In France, the rising star of the sovereigntist movement, the National Rally, is Jordan Bardella, a second-generation Italian… Read more »
— “The infidels all over the West are rising up to throw us out! What about our dream of the Black Flag of Islam flying over Parliament? And after all that money we spent building the mosques and buying up everything in sight! All wasted! What can we do?”
— “Don’t worry! We’ll just jump on the Patriot Bandwagon, give them a little cash out of our £billions, and when they win the election, we’ll take over Parliament and our dream of a Muslim Prime Minister will come true!”
— “But how can you be so sure? Won’t they suspect anything, after all the horrible things we have done to them and their children? Can they really be so gullible, when we have brought no benefit to them at all?”
— “Gullible? Of course! Useful Idiots always are, remember? Soon Britain will be part of the Global Caliphate, loudspeakers blasting calls to prayer five times a day from Parliament minarets. We’ll keep Big Ben, though, because we copied it to build our one in Mecca. So cheer up, everything is going as planned.”
It’s true in my experience and there are obvious pragmatic reasons for this – people descended from immigrants from generations back are going to be most affected by a general surge in anti-immigrant sentiment. And it tends to be the areas with large dark skinned populations that have to bear the brunt of the extra strains on housing and public services who are tasked with an impossible job given the sheer size of the influx. A city the size of Newcastle at least coming in every year. This is insanity. A failed economic model running amok in its death throes. Show me a mainstream political party that has the faintest understanding of the true nature of this crisis
Whoever thought to do this is awesome. Imagine Khant’s face if someone did the same in London, under a Labour government! lol They’d be serving time before they could say, ”but what about my rights to freedom of expression?”

Intent to stir up racial hatred, obviously, as happened to Sam Melia.
Try to discern the movements of the mood of a country, decisive times when things got even worse because it hasn’t exactly been improving on any level since the early 1970s. February 2022 marks the move into this sombre mood. The biggest drop in living standards ever and at the same time a rather lavish expenditure on weapons for other countries and the lifting of state sanctioned indolence in the lockdown – on exactly the same day.. People picked up on that one way or another. Like Dylan said, you don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows. This is the mindset or sentiment of the country. If you want to affect it you need to grasp it.
I wonder if this was a response to Heseltine and Lord Dave of Greenshill Lobbying both slandering Farage by calling him a racist recently?
I wonder if they will ever learn that their insults are counter-productive?
Lord Mandelson called Farage a terrorist on Sky News with not much push back.
If he was Catholic, would we be calling him a Catholic Entrepreneur?——-No I don’t think so. But I suppose the point here is that Farage and Reform are branded Racist and Islamophobic by the Liberal Progressives and their bought and paid for media, but this chap supporting them indicates it is possible for Muslims to realise this is not the case and that we cannot in this country have these levels of mass immigration and function properly. The feeble excuses by the left that people cross in boats in huge numbers because there are not sufficient legal routes indicates only one thing. —–They are open border people that see no upper limit to the size of the UK population and would be happy if the whole country looked like London where there is no room to swing a cat.
Guess a meeting with Tommy is out of the question now!
It’s simply a lie that people cross in boats in huge numbers. Less than 5% of those who come do and there’s next to nothing which can be done about that, anyway. I already mentioned this in a couple of past comments: The only option is to fortify every conceivable landing area and shoot to kill as soon as something comes into sight. Would need some 0.5″ machine guns per area plus the people necessary for operating them. That’s perfectly doable. But not even the most extreme rightest extrem rightest wingerist would even dare to suggest this which means Stop the boats is dead in water as a concept already. There can be no border defense without a … well … border defense.
The whole topic is a mere distraction. If mass immigration is a problem (I don’t claim any expertise on that), the first step to solving it would be get rid of the >95% who move to the UK legally. Which means the government would need to change its policy on this and force the civil service to act accordingly.
We don’t have to shoot them, though a boat with an AK47 would be handy. We just need to tow them back, and if they suicide themselves, we can try and help to a point but many would die and the trade would be ‘dead in the water’.
An AK47 is a so-called assault rifle which is meant to be used as main weapon of soldiers engaging other soldiers in relatively close combat, ie distance ½ mile or less (usually less). It’s useless against vehicles or crowds.
As to towing them back, I doubt it’s going to be possible to tow such a boat safely at a speed of more than 3 knots (about 3.4 mph). The smallest part of the English channel has a width of about 17.5 sea miles (20 miles) and hence, this towing back would take almost 6 hours per boat. That’s not practical. Not to mention that the authorites on the other side might not allow them to disembark.
I’m afraid but there’s no ‘humane’ option here. Either they’re treated as foreign invaders which will be violently rebuffed. Or they’re going to come.
