“Greenpeace’s campaign against Golden Rice is a crime against humanity” This is a complex issue with many aspects to consider; 1. Why are people suffering a deficiency of vitamin A? Mankind was only able to evolve and inhabit the world because we had a diet adequate in all dietary needs, has something gone wrong with our diet to cause this vitamin A deficiency? Vitamin A comes from leafy vegetables, other vegetable sources, eggs, liver and a variety of other foods. Maybe the vitamin A deficiency is indicative of a poor diet deficient in many things and that simply addressing the vitamin A deficiency does not address the issue of a poor diet deficient in a range of necessary factors for good health? You could almost argue that addressing a vitamin deficiency in this way has echoes of using vaccines for disease control! . 2. Once genetic manipulation technology was developed it was immediately used for all sorts of technical and trivial changes that gave the whole industry a bad name. They used GM to develop crops resistant to weedkillers so that they could sell more weedkiller. It lead to GM crops being patented and poor farmers being prevented from use farm… Read more »
Totally agree
As with the vaccines, any modifications to genetics needs intense testing over years to all but guarantee safety or we could just end up making a bad situation worse, getting more quality agricultural and food education to those that are in need(and food aid) would be a more natural way to approach this terrible situation
Has anybody got any idea why Zelensky was at the D-Day anniversary celebrations in France.
Ukraine had, shall we say, divided loyalties in WWII and certainly didn’t participate in the D-Day landings.
I expect Germany was represented as well as Petainist France.
“Sunak’s early election could be the most disastrous political decision in a generation” – Nigel Farage has caught the public mood, says Patrick O’Flynn in the Telegraph.
God give me strength. The disastrous political decisions from the Tories started a long time ago – decades. Convid capped it all off.

Colin Todhunter at Off-G putting the record straight on the myth of Golden Rice and it is a topic he knows about – genetically modified food.

This piece by some silly woman is dangerous propoganda. I posted Colin Todhunter’s article on here about a month ago.
Let us not fall for Billy’s puff pieces.
“Golden Rice is really a ‘Trojan horse’; a public relations stunt pulled by the agribusiness corporations to garner acceptance of genetically engineered (GE) crops and food… money and efforts would be better spent on restoring natural and agricultural biodiversity rather than destroying it by promoting monoculture plantations and GE
There is little research in the Zion Lights – ex, extinction rebellion – piece and plenty in the Colin Todhunter article.
Could and should do better DS.

Norman Fenton no less at TCW with a cracking write-up of the weekend rally in London led by Tommy Robinson. I wasn’t there but I have a friend who was and she said there was no trouble and it was an excellent event.
Reports from MSM as usual devolved to the “football hooligan” tropes. Plenty of videos on YouTube which show a peaceful but passionate crowd and an event which was clearly very well organised.
Credit to all concerned.
“Reform wants the Tories destroyed”
And reports today said Reform are going to raise the Inheritance Tax threshold to £2 million, which is great news, and yet another thing the Fake Tories failed to do during their 14 years in office.
Inheritance Tax should be abolished entirely, along with VAT. Since our politicians are fond of lavishing taxpayers’ money on things like foreign aid and welfare for illegal aliens and non-citizens, which has no benefit at all for the citizen taxpayers, the government has obviously been demanding too much tax.
