The Archbishop of Airmiles: Justin Welby Racks Up 48,000 Miles on Foreign Trips Despite Lecturing People About Climate Change

The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby has been branded the ā€˜Archbishop of Airmiles’ for clocking up thousands of miles while preaching about carbon neutrality. The Mail has the story.

The Archbishop of Canterbury will be travelling to Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama and Costa Rica later this month having only just returned from Zanzibar.

Church of England officials and parishioners said their leader had almost become a ā€œmember of the Foreign Officeā€, jetting to global hot spots and summits while seemingly ignoring problems at home.

Analysis by the Daily Mail found that by next month Dr. Welby will have travelled at least 48,000 miles on ten trips since last September on a worldwide tour.

The flights alone would have added at least 15 tons of carbon dioxide emissions to his carbon footprint.Ā

But the true figure is likely to be higher, with the inclusion of Dr. Welby’s travelling entourage.

His trips have enraged parishioners and officials who pointed out its incompatibility with the Church of England’s Net Zero strategy.Ā

The Church has heaped pressure on congregations by bringing the deadline of its carbon neutrality goal forward from 2045 to 2030.

Parishes have been urged to remove gas and oil boilers in favour of heat pumps and solar panels as the church seeks to divest itself of fossil fuels.

A senior church official said: ā€œIt seems quite extraordinary that the Archbishop chooses to spend so much time away when there is so much going wrong at home.

ā€œHis own diocese is showing a catastrophic fall in numbers attending – the worst figures for young people of any diocese – yet he is too busy to attend to it.ā€

Hypocrisy comes as naturally to leftists as inhaling and exhaling.

A man clearly with God-like aspirations behaving like the other God aspiring freaks who currently seek to destroy the world. Being at best probably only third or fourth tier in the God club Jelly knows he must make big efforts in order to provide a semblance of playing catch-up. Fortunately, he currently still holds an adequate bank balance courtesy of his increasingly irate flock although as this captured mass rapidly melts away ‘there may be troubles ahead.’

Anyway, if flying is good enough for Jelly I see no reasons why the rest of us should end our travels. If it’s good enough for aspirant Gods it’s good enough for me.

Annie, late of these parts, used to call him Dustbin Jellybaby. I think she is CofE and was not impressed with his ā€œleadershipā€.

The CofE owns a lot of property other than churches – they could probably keep going for a long time on the rental income.’

Yes I do know that. There was a year or two back an article knocking about in alt media circles detailing the C of E wealth and Jelly’s “investment” – cough – of said wealth, the sums were eye watering.

Indeed the focus doesn’t seem to be on saving souls- no glamour in that

Christianity needs to be undermined in those countries. Zanzibar is already Islamic.

The congregations are drying up and Churches will soon be as depicted in Phillip Larkins “Church Going”. So to try and be relevant these religious leaders turn to the latter-day religions of Social and Climate Justice. But what mandate from the Lord does the Archbishop have to pontificate on matters of science? —NONE.

I have no doubt that he considers his trips essential – but not someone else’s business trip, visit to family or holiday. He considers this travel to be part of his job as an elite leader of the CofE.

I’m sure I have read somewhere that CO2 molecules behave Differently when ā€œspecial peopleā€ are involved.

Marcus Aurelius knew

Naughty Justin. With such a large CO2 footprint. Naughty naughty naughty!

Come on, Mail. Say it how it is. Justin is just a stinky, stuck up, corrupt little hypocrite. That’s all there is to it. The CO2 bit is just a distraction to confuse and rile people into thinking that flying is wrong and CO2 is killing us all.

Matthew 21.12/13

And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

If Jesus were alive today, he’d be casting out Welby and all the other “climate change” theives.

Welby would be buggered to take any notice of what you have to say.

And there are IMHO some of those in the clergy ready and willing to help him achieve that status.

It is quite an illustrative irony to look at the carbon footprint of climate activists. Not only do fanatical net-zero missionaries rack up the air miles; those who take to the streets and protest against climate change (which they blame on the abundant use of fossil fuels), to which they have travelled and are dutifully televised by the national broadcaster, are only able to do so because of, wait for it…. the abundance of fossil fuels!

This kind of circular logic should deal a catastrophic blow to the rationale for net-zero advocacy.
