How to Vote For Eden Golan in the Eurovision Song Contest
The spectacle of ‘anti-Zionist’ protestors massing outside the official Eurovision hotel, seemingly intent on lynching a 20 year-old Israeli women, is sick-making. The only silver lining is that the mob includes 21 year-old doom goblin Greta Thunberg, who has moved on from protesting about ‘climate change’ to call for the destruction of Israel. My hope – probably naive – is that it will persuade some young people who were taken in by her to question how sincere she was in her previous incarnation. Could it be that she is simply a useful idiot, exploited by cynical, Left-wing agitators to attract attention to whatever fashionable cause they think is most likely to damage the West this week? Heaven forfend!
If you want to let these protestors know what you think of their behaviour, why not go to the Eurovision website and vote for Eden Golan? Not only will you be rewarding her for her extraordinary courage – the security detail accompanying her from the performers’ hotel to the official venue for the semi-final a couple of days ago included several armoured vehicles and the head of Shin Bet, Israel’s domestic security service – you’ll also be wishing Israel a happy 76th birthday. (To read a fantastic article by Jake Wallis Simons to mark this occasion, go here.)
The object of the ‘anti-Zionists’ is to turn Israel into a pariah state, banned from participating in international events like Eurovision. To that end, dozens of venues across the UK have been forced to close tonight rather than hold their annual Eurovision parties. But if Eden Golan’s song ‘Hurricane’ does well – better yet, if it wins – that will send precisely the opposite message. The Boycott, Disinvestment and Sanctions brigade will have failed.
To vote for ‘Hurricane’, go to the Eurovision voting website. You can either download the app, or click here to cast your vote online once the show starts at 8pm tonight (in the U.K.). You can see Eden Golan performing her power ballad here. Not only should you vote for it for the reasons set out above, it’s also much better than many of the other finalists, including the U.K.’s Olly Alexander’s ‘Dizzy’ and Ireland’s Bambie Thug’s ‘Doomsday Blue’.

Israel is already a pariah state and has been for 75 years, deservedly so.
Why? I’m genuinely interested in how people like yourself come to such statements and yet never provide any evidence. What is it, exactly, that leads you to use a Nazi symbol as a logo hidden behind an “unjabbed” façade? Why, just one reason will do, do you hate Jews so much?
Does it occur to you that if you cannot answer, or refuse to answer, such a simple question as “Why?” it means you are, and are being, quite ridiculous let alone somewhat sick? Want to carry on forever being known as a sick person or do you want to answer the question “Why?”.
I suggest to the Editors that a refusal to answer should result in you being a pariah.
Who the hell do you think you are?
The people that run this site also run the Free Speech Union and tolerate a wide range of views.
I have been on this site since it first started as Lockdown Sceptics and it was a haven away from the persecution we “unvaccinated” (or unexperimental jabbed) had thrown against us so my avatar was very apt.
The evidence that Israel is already a pariah state and deservedly so is by their “actions” and has nothing to do with their religion”.
Don’t let anyone convince you that it started on October 7th.
Jews have been killing Palestinians for many, many years.

I also note that 84, at this point, gave a thumbs up, yet nobody, literally nobody has commented. Did you and your antisemitic pals chip in 10p each so you could comment?
With all due respect, Toby, and although I am very well aware that Eurovision has never really been about music, I will vote for the song I like the most.
Or, more likely, I’ll probably end up ignoring the whole thing as I usually do and instead listen to some Saint Saens, or Mahler. Or better still, some Wagner… conducted by Daniel Barenboim. Because when done well, music – the first language – transcends politics and speaks to everyone’s souls.
That said, Waterloo was a cracker. I quite liked Finland’s Hard Rock Hallelujah, too.
“has never really been about music”—-true but it was just a bit of family entertainment at one time, till like everything else in society it gets hijacked for political agenda’s. —–Just as the football players kneel down and let their popularity be exploited for political purposes.
I’ll vote, mainly because the idea of those jobless, chronically-online ‘protesters’ losing their shit if Israel wins gives me incredible pleasure.
Won’t listen to any of the music though, I’m not masochistic.
Yes, Happy 76th Birthday to Israel,
and Happy 76th Birthday to Pakistan,
and Happy 103rd Birthday to Northern Ireland!
Not one royal attended Northern Ireland’s centenary celebrations in 2021, but Prime Minister Boris Johnson did, to his enormous credit.
If Israel & Northern Ireland have “no right to exist”, as Muslims & Maryolaters claim,
then neither does Pakistan, which was carved out of India’s national territory.
So to all the shriekers: Either give Pakistan back to India, or shut up!
Pakistan broke off the artifical construct/ multi-ethnic empire that is ‘India’ because there, muslims were living in such numbers that suppressing them wasn’t really an option. For a while, what we presently know as Bangladesh was called East Pakistan and was actually part of it, but keeping it that way proved impractical, hence, it became its own test tube state.
I consider a vote for Israel to be an act of civil disobedience. Another slap for the left-wing face of marxist oppression.
Had the results on just for interest , didn’t watch any acts but seeing the contestants waiting for the results was enough ! what a complete N-nce Fest which prompted a look on YouTube to watch the UK,s entry ! WTLiving F-ck !!! 😵💫🤢🤮
How to choose your side in the biggest game of divide and conquer in history. Roll up, roll up.
I haven’t watched this tripe for several years – decades even – so no one will be getting my vote.
Very sensible – why patronise this utter trash.
Toby you are just being polite when you question whether Greta is perhaps a useful idiot. ————Ofcourse she is. There is no “perhaps” about it. The UN will stick a Minah Bird up at a podium at climate conferences if it spouts all the correct end of the world evidence free scare the populace junk science. ——-Greta is just someone who can likely because of her mental health issues, stand in front of a camera and sound convincing. —But here are just a few of the “convincing” things she has said—- “People are suffering, people are dying. We are in the middle of a mass extinction, there are 200 species going extinct every day”—–I am sorry but this is absolute nonsense. It may sound convincing to her target audience but this is evidence free garbage. ——-How about this one–“Around the year 2030 we will set off an irreversible chain reaction beyond our control that will most likely lead to the end of our civilisation as we know it”—–This is beyond parody. Yet this person is put in front of audiences all over the world to spout this scaremongering propaganda that has no basis in science. ——-So it all sounds “convincing”… Read more »
Highly recommend the Jake Wallis Simons article referred to above.
The spectacle of King Kong on rampage through Gaza while constantly whining that he’s mortally terrified by a Yorkshire Terrier barking more than a thousand miles away from it is just silly.
Well, it worked. If only to prove that this contest is political and even ethnic. Not exactly unified by music.
Perhaps Greta should reinvent herself as a rock star. She could then enter Eurovision. Though as doom goblin she would still be outclassed by Ireland’s goth witch queen.
Can’t wait for Nicaragua, Iran and Palestine to join Eurovision.
Never vote political or ethnic. Vote for the wailers – Georgia or Armenia or similar.
I’m not keen on excluding individuals from competitions or activities based on the “sins” of the country they happen to be a citizen of. I suppose excluding a country from a competition like this one has a bit more logic to it, but it still ends up being just a reflection of some controlling group’s view of what is a “good” and “bad” country. So if I could have voted for this Golan person to state that I don’t think Israel should have been excluded, I might have considered it. But a vote for this Golan person might well be interpreted as a vote in unconditional support of Israel in all its actions, and I certainly am not in a position to do that. I find this article a little odd, regardless of what one may think about the political situation in that region.
Well said. My thoughts exactly.
Plus, am I being paranoic, but her nails… Like talons. Not sure about some of the symbology either. But know this is nothing to do with the music (none of which is my thing any longer – and hasn’t been since I was in my teens!). The article is definitely odd.
Overloading a song contest – in particular, this song contest – with politics is stupid. The woman is in no way responsible for the actions of the government of Israel and nothing she has to suffer will change these in the slightest. As far as I can tell, propaganda hysteria of this kind was invented during the first world war. Here’s an originally French example I translated into English from German: Let’s root out the language of these murderer from our houses, from our theatres! There should be a law banning its use in public forever! The heavy, harsh and horrible language of Attila must no be spoken anymore and it must never be heard in our country again! Your culture is even more repulsive than your army and if you speak of honour, don’t forget you’re Germans and that German will henceforth be a dreadful insult even to the very scum of the earth! In line with this fine program, about 16% of the German POWs in France either died or vanished without a trace. In contrast to this, only about 3% of the French soldiers captured by the horribly inhuman German barbarians didn’t survive the war. I think… Read more »
Agree with that RW, The technique of ‘wedge issues’ seems to stem from the fight of prohibition in the US more than a century ago (let me know how well that went…), It does seem that for the most complex and interdependent issues requiring great understanding, nuance, pragmatism and compromises, there is only two possible answers. If you’re not with us, you’re against us. Hence ‘doubling down’ when someone points out that your simple solution is impossibly naive. Its not a very bright way of trying to run the world…
That’s an odd article for Toby. given the mass destruction of Gaza, the killing of so many civilians… It seems this event is as much avout politics as entetainment (Russia is banned)
