A refreshing departure from writing about all things Covid, el gato malo nails it here. Especially relevant with what we’re seeing across U.S university campuses now, which basically resembles a resurgence of The Hitler Youth, except with staff fully onboard with the madness; ”i don’t know who needs to hear this, but: we can argue about political and personal ideas without being savages. one might even go so far as to define the ability to do so as the basis of civilization. but you cannot argue rights, ethics, or mores with deranged or amoral people. there is no shared frame or values to permit it. and this is why we need to stop giving such people not only equal but privileged seats at the table. they are eating us alive. the problem arises from the erection of “protected classes” that are allowed infinite license without repercussion or responsibility, whose “violence” is treated like “speech” while any who speak against them get their speech treated as violence. whatever insight or mission may or may not have existed at some point is lost in the turgid madness of lunatics seizing the asylum while those who ought to know better say “how brave… Read more »

The writer refuses to use capital letters which in my opinion is an insult to the readers. I gave up on this guy about three years ago.

An interesting piece on the UK-Israel 2030 (when else?) Roadmap for Bilateral Relations and how it provisions for the recent UK government military support in the Gaza campaign.

‘Declassifieduk’ is just a bunch of old luvvies.

They are republicans……

https://www.declassifieduk.org/the-monarchy-rests-on-a-lie-the-uk-needs-an-elected-head-of-state/

No-one (except you, apparently) pays much attention to them.

They get (some of) their funding from the Ford Foundation:

‘……(Ford Foundation) grantmaking would be in seven areas: civic engagement and government, free expression and creativity, equitable development, gender, racial, and ethnic justice, inclusive economies….’

Follow the money.

In fact, British troops will be driving aid into Gaza.

Ford Foundation funding is channeled (circuitously, interestingly) through the Bertha Foundation.

Please expand the search results to include all details of Ford Foundation funding for the Bertha Foundation and how much of this funding is “channeled [sic]” to DeclassifiedUK.

Thanks to TV licencing, the BBC is directly funded by the far-right, anti-Islamists, big-oil enthusiasts, flat earthers and anti-vaxxers but is anyone going to suggest that influences their output?

‘In its brief life, the Bertha Foundation—through the Bertha Film Fund, the Bertha BRITDOC Connect Fund, the Bertha BRITDOC Documentary Journalism Fund and the IDFA Bertha Fund—has helped countless documentaries from around the world get made.’

‘Another pivotal grant made this year was part of a multi-year contribution to the IDFA Bertha Fund’

Monro: “They [DeclassifiedUK] get (some of) their funding from the Ford Foundation”

Monro: “Ford Foundation funding is channeled [to DeclassifiedUK] (circuitously, interestingly) through the Bertha Foundation”

How much funding from the Ford Foundation has been channelled to DeclassifiedUK?

Identifying a specific documentary would provide a funding link, albeit tenuous and not as direct or channelled as described.

Of course the amount of funding that Decassifieduk have received from the socialist fascist billionaire funded Ford Foundation is classified ‘Company Confidential’.

Whited sepulchres, the lot of them.

According to the earlier Monro statement: it is channelled through the Bertha Foundation. If that is the case, there couldn’t be any confidential amount from the Ford Foundation because there would be no direct funding.

So far, the statements are unsupported by evidence.

and just to keep this on the same thread: DCUK have stated they do not receive funding from the Ford Foundation.

All grants are, without fail, the subject of confidentiality agreements.

I’m sure generative AI can manufacture a non-existent reference but a credible link to the funding of Declassified UK by the Ford Foundation would be useful.

On the face of it, it looks like a DS-funded-by-big-oil style of accusation.

Good post. Would explain why someone I know of in the UK military was posted to the region within 48 hours of 7th Oct – and it certainly wasn’t for ‘driving aid into Gaza’. It may be that they were expecting trouble anyway because of the Israeli’s earlier Al-Aqsa activity which led up to the events on 7th, or the planned wholesale annexing of large parts of the West Bank but nevertheless, the timing is curious, to say the least.

A small number of commentators on this site appear to suffer from incipient paranoia.

This often stems, as does much narcissism, from the ingestion of harmful chemicals.

The British military have staff going backwards and forwards to ‘the region’ on a regular basis, circa 3,000 on postings there at any given moment.

They wouldn’t have been driving aid into Gaza ‘within 48 hours of Oct 7th’ (’09 Oct’ would have been usefully more succinct) since no aid was being driven into Gaza at that point.

The British government is apparently considering deploying troops to drive trucks carrying aid from the pier along a floating causeway to the shore in Gaza.

A senior U.S. military official said on Thursday that there would be no American “boots on the ground” and another nation would provide the personnel to drive the delivery trucks to the shore.

So that will be us, then…….

Thanks. I see the Monro account has resorted to insults and taken you’re reference to ‘driving aid into Gaza’ literally rather than as dry humour. It doesn’t understand.

No reference to DCUK Ford Foundation funding as yet.

Putin did not order Alexei Navalny’s death, U.S. intelligence believes” – U.S. intelligence agencies have determined that Russian President Vladimir Putin probably didn’t order opposition politician Alexei Navalny killed at an Arctic prison camp in February, according to the Mail.

No, of course it wasn’t an order.

Presumably people have seen footage by now of what’s happening in the U.S campuses, because it’s been rumbling on for a while and just snowballed over time. There’s outrageous videos posted online. Predictably Jewish faculty members being prevented from entering their place of work, either physically barred by the students or their I.D cards were deactivated without warning. The usual bullying and intimidation of Jewish students who are hounded off campus. What does this remind you of? They even found an actual terrorist at one of the universities amongst the psycho students. You don’t get to start a war, lose that war then claim to be the victim, but it’s been one hell of a winning strategy hasn’t it? I’d say the Muslim Brotherhood and their off-shoots have met their objectives and then some. Islam is winning. It’s all about infiltration of the universities, focus on brainwashing the young and naive et voila, you’ve got yourself a shed-load of useful idiot political activists fighting your corner, the message spreads, the snowball increases in size. Very effective strategy, as we can see. And these sociopaths are tomorrow’s politicians; ”Why aren’t the “protestors” demanding that the terrorist group Hamas release hostages and… Read more »

Historically, there wasn’t much international coverage of anti-Vietnam war demonstrations internationally, and perhaps not a lot on established US news channels. Maybe modern students are doing the same sort of thing, but with modern communications as well.

So any articles about Chris Packham are not to be commented on, got it. But we can just place our comments on those articles elsewhere…Not quite getting the logic with this approach, but whatever..

The thing that gets me about Chris Packham’s waving the flag for science is that, in his own field, he seems to have missed out entirely on the Adaptationist Wars that began in 1979, through S J Gould, within evolutionary biology, not to mention Kimura’s near-neutral theory or the whole debate about the need for an extended, or replacement, evolutionary synthesis, in the light of Neodarwinism’s demonstrated inadequacies.

On the “Watch” TV series, he is always saying that nothing in nature is there without a reason due to natural selection, which is so 1930s in the light of current knowledge.

Now as it happens, I’m personally sympathetic to his assessment of nature’s superb functionality, which once the severe limitations of natural selection are understood pushes one towards Intelligent Design or exotic teleology of some other sort.

But scientific consensus it is definitely not. So he scarcely has justification for condemning D.S. as out on a scientific limb.

Mr Packham, BSc (zoology), honorary doctor x 2 famously sued Country Squire magazine for defamation, and won. DS needs to keep this in mind if it intends to use similar methods against him.

Rolls-Royce scales back plans to build nuclear factories in U.K.” – Rolls-Royce has scaled back plans to build two new factories for its small modular reactor programme in the U.K., following delays to a Government design competition, the Telegraph reports.

only this Conservative government allow the blob to undermine our energy security and manufacturing capability in this way. Any sane government would, long ago, have decided on RR snd made the project a national priority.

all the usual objectors should have been pushed aside so mini nukes can be operational fast.

At the risk of triggering all the usual suspects, I always thought the allegation about Putin ordering the death of Navalny was illogical.
Why would he move the focus to Navalny at the time of the Rusasian elections and give ammunition to the Western press?
Cui bono?

WyrdWoman

My admittedly limited understanding of the Russian viewpoint is that they treat the Western chagrin over Navalny with a not inconsiderable degree of amusement. That he was a bought and paid for US plant who turned out to be both incompetent and ineffective, with a vanishingly small local following and who was, as is often the case, thrown under the bus when the political objective wasn’t met, provides little more than minor amusing diversion. Western toddlers, toys and pram spring to mind.

That would be an interesting point of view, if evidenced……..

And he returned to Russia, to certain imprisonment and likely death, from Germany why, exactly, does your evidence suggest?

Should We Rename the Daily Sceptic the Daily Septic?
As we can’t post under that article (thus avoiding any potential litigation weaponry by the highly litigious Mr Packham, I assume), well done Dr Alexander, a jolly piece to kick off the morning. I’m now going to spend the day musing on the fatbergs of govt propaganda, the Q-tips of BBC misinformation depts and the babywipes of climatista ‘science’. But what of the rats, frogs and occasional crocodiles? So many choices….

My generation of student radicals fought for liberty. Today’s are a delusional cult

Rose-tinted spectacle memories I think. I was there – the student radicals were busy shutting down speakers they disagreed with, and using every trick to make sure non-radical voices were excluded from the conversation.

The chants supporting Mao and the posters saying “Long Live the Great Victory of the Glorious People’s Proletarian Cultural Revolution” were every bit as delusional.

“How Canada’s energy experiment backfired…..”: A few years ago, 2016, in the UK my unit price rates were 3 to 1, day versus night. These days they have narrowed the gap, which makes E7 electric look less competitive with mains gas as a source of power. Nothing to do with so-called Smart meters, which would open the door to variable daytime pricing.

‘Buying a first home is harder when you’re single’

What a bloody stupid thing to say! Many things are more difficult to achieve without the support and resources of another person. Why should anyone expect to be able to afford to buy a home without teaming up with someone else?

My daughter teamed up with a school friend (not a romantic partner) to buy their first home; once on the property ladder they each had something financial to contribute when they did find romantic partners.

Yeah. So middle class.
