At 58:44 in the Weekly Skeptic, in response to the outrageous Wokery from Archdeacon Miranda Threlfall-Holmes, Toby Young repeats a theory which he says others such as Peter Thiel, John Gray have suggested. Namely that the rise of Wokery in the west is not in fact due to the decline of Christianity, leaving a god shaped hole for wokery to fill, but is instead due to the decline of what are called “classical values” which are alleged to have previously stood alongside Christianity keeping its worst excesses in check or balance. With the classical values washed away this so called Christianity is now given its full vent to become its full Wokish self, which was supposedly apparent from its initiation. This opinion displays such monumental ignorance of Scripture, the ground for Christian values and doctrine (in contrast to mere religious tradition) that it is effectively defamatory. Thanks, gents, for doing this. Please put timestamps on the podcast. Some stuff like the CoE and trans I’ve heard enough about. Agree, but don’t want to spend further time on those subjects. I share Toby’s squeamishness about running a piece positing a link between the vaccines and cancer in the Royals and the cancer epidemic in general, but the public interest is so compelling that it needs to be done. All the msm 1 minute hate stuff about trolling the Princess of Wales feels like deflection from the mammoth in the room, the goddamm covid vaccines may be carcinogenic. On this Beau bloke and Hate Not Hope and Reform I agree with Tice and Toby, not with Nick. That’s a first for me. Tice’s job is to get votes with a real conservative party. Running a candidate who wants to shut down the Guardian and sounds like he wants to compulsorily repatriate (‘within the law’…yeah, yeah) those who reside here legally, that ain’t gonna win votes. Emotionally I may be there, but I didn’t join the FSU and Reform to shut down The Guardian. Being responsive to the Left’s cancellation tactic is bad, but it’s justified both as realpolitik and… Read more »
