Pro-Palestine Activists Spray and Slash University of Cambridge’s Historic Painting of Lord Balfour
Pro-Palestine protesters have sprayed and slashed the University of Cambridge’s historic painting of British statesman Lord Balfour who paved the way for a Jewish state in the Middle East. The Mail has more.
Protest group Palestine Action shared a video of a demonstrator destroying the portrait and spraying it with red paint.
A woman is seen on the footage defacing the painting with a sharp object before spraying paint from a can over Balfour’s face.
The Conservative politician gave his name to the Balfour Declaration – a public statement issued by the British Government to create a “national home for the Jewish people” in Palestine, paving the way for the founding of Israel in 1948.
The declaration, made in 1917, was contained within a letter from Balfour to Lord Rothschild, a British Jewish leader.
Among the declaration’s lasting consequences was increased support for Zionism within the Jewish community, and it formed part of the founding of Mandatory Palestine.
Balfour succeeded his uncle Lord Salisbury as Prime Minister in 1902 and served until his resignation in 1905.
He later became Foreign Secretary under David Lloyd George, but was excluded from the small war Cabinet and the inner workings of Government.
The oil on canvas painting, currently housed at the University of Cambridge, was by artist Philip Alexius de Laszlo and was completed in 1914.

Well I’m certainly keen on finding out the identity of this yob, so that she can be named and shamed across all media, and just what punishment will be deemed fitting. The authorities will know who she is already. —–Our justice system is one designed by Neville Chamberlain. But notice that we never hear anymore about these individuals. How many Just Stop Oil or Hamas supporting scum are caught on video doing horrendous stuff and either let off lightly or we never find out what happened to them? So I suspect we will never hear on TV News who this woman is or what if any punishment she gets.

What a nauseating sight, a terrorist taking a Stanley knife to a historic painting that does not belong to her. It is OUR HERITAGE, like all the historic statues and monuments, paintings and buildings, churches and milestones in the country, and if there were ever an argument for the UK establishing a prison at the northernmost tip of Greenland, this is it, and she belongs there.
As Paul Joseph Watson said, Britain was once a “high-trust” society, but all that is gone now, because of the Third World Invasion.

Though when I was a Cambridge sociology undergrad (well, purely for a social psychology course) the seeds of the same attitudes were present. The SPS department generated many of the 1960s student leftist activists shouting down speakers there and so on.

I read a news article years ago that exposed the secret training camps built in Ireland by the IRA to train Muslim terrorists.

Now if she had scraped some of the paint off it might be a problem, but a good picture restorer can have the damaged fixed in a jiffy, all it takes is time, resources such as CO2 🙂 and of course cash.
Whether UoC will want to restore it is another matter of course.
