Chris Williamson, the Deputy Leader of George Galloway’s Workers Party of Britain, is being investigated by police for saying that Israel “has forfeited any right to exist”. The Mail has more.
Former Labour MP Chris Williamson made the comment on social media on October 17th, ten days after Hamas terrorists slaughtered 1,200 Israelis.

Why is it an offence to question the right of Israel to exist? To the best of my knowledge Guatemala claims the entirety of Belize and Serbia claims the entirely of Kosovo. The claim of the Republic of China to Mongolia was maintained at a time when both were members of the United Nations. What is the difference between these claims and one that Israel is by right the territory of Palestine?
Let me repeat. Israel was accorded recognition conditionally on the existence of two states of Israel and Palestine, having campaigned for recognition on that basis. I cannot think when anyone was investigated for saying that Palestine has no right to exist, though Israel and its supporters plainly think so.
And what on earth has any of this got to do with scepticism or free speech?
I have always considered this man as evil personified.
