Democrats Are Also in (Election) Denial
Ever since news outlets projected that Joe Biden had won the 2020 election on November 7th of that year, Donald Trump has publicly disputed the result, calling the election “rigged”, “stolen” and a “fraud”. His efforts to overturn the election culminated in his second impeachment in January of 2021, for which he was subsequently acquitted.
While I haven’t looked in detail at the allegations that the 2020 election was “stolen”, I have never seen any compelling evidence that they are true. Hence the harsh criticism Trump received for attempting to overturn the election seems justified. Whatever else may be true, it’s entirely improper for a politician to go around calling an election “stolen”.
Which raises the question: shouldn’t Democrats be held to the same standard?
Back in 2022, the Republican National Committee put together a video titled ‘12 Minutes of Democrats Denying Election Results’, with the first three minutes focussed on the 2016 election. It includes clips of Hillary Clinton and various other Democrats referring to Trump as an “illegitimate President”, and describing the election as “not on the level” and indeed “stolen”.
As you’ll recall, Trump’s entire presidency was overshadowed by allegations that his campaign had colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election. Yet following the much-touted Mueller investigation, “not one single American was charged, indicted or convicted for conspiring with Russia to influence the 2016 election” – to quote the journalist Glenn Greenwald.
In fact, a study published in the prestigious journal Nature Communications found that very few individuals were exposed to the Russian influence campaign on Twitter, and it had zero influence on their attitudes and voting behaviour. (The study did not look at other social media platforms like Facebook.)

Election denial, then, isn’t just a Republican thing. It’s bipartisan – with politicians in both parties disputing the results of elections they lose. And interestingly, their antics seem to have shaped the views of the rank and file.
According to a recent survey, the percentage of Democrat and Republican voters who endorse election conspiracy theories is remarkably similar. Sceptic Research Centre asked 3,000 Americans whether they agreed that the 2016 and 2020 elections were “fraudulent”. Results are shown below.

As you can see, 49% of Democrats agreed that the 2016 election of Donald Trump was fraudulent – which is only nine points less than the percentage of Republicans who agreed that the 2020 election of Joe Biden was fraudulent. Overall, a sizeable chunk of both parties’ voters endorse election conspiracies.
For the last three years, the media have been running with the narrative that it’s Republicans who deny elections. The truth is that partisans on both sides of the aisle play fast and loose with democratic norms when it suits them. And given that 2016 came before 2020, it was arguably the Democrats who started it.

For goodness sake, what kind of journalist doesn’t look into claims of electoral fraud in the 2020 Presidential election? And since when did the Daily Sceptic resort to the term ‘Denial’ (like “Climate Change Denial” or “Covid Denial” or “Science Denial”) to gaslight people into silence. Try reading up on the subject on Epoch Times or Frank Speech or War Room or watching 2000 Mules or Selection Code. These aren’t claims made by Donald Trump, who has been silenced on social and mainstream media for most of the past couple of years, .
No one has attempted to illegitimately overturn the 2020 election, but many people have demanded that claims of electoral fraud be investigated, not censored or dismissed as you are doing here. People are languishing in prison without trial simply for being near the 6th January protests about electoral fraud regardless of whether they were involved in any violence or not, some have committed suicide or lost jobs and livelihood simply for exercising their right to free speech and scepticism over official narratives, which I thought was something the Daily Sceptic supported.
Pathetic isn’t it. Brain dead tosser.
Here is some maths Carl.
159 million registered US Voters.
75 million or more (many millions were destroyed, burnt etc) for Drumpf.
No more than 70-80% have ever voted in an US election = max votes of ~ 120 million.
Let’s say that because Drumpf is Hitler a white supremacist fascist racist etc etc that 130 million lard butted Americans moved away from the porn, football and eating, and mailed in their ballots (43% of all votes were mail-ins by itself indicates a massive fraud).
130 million – 75 million = 55 million for the pedo, criminal, money laundering, I-shower-with-my daughter-and sniff children-Biden. Maxium.
The Communists only won 600 out of 3000 counties. And given the above, how the hell can you win 81 million votes if you won 20% of the counties? That has never happened before in US history.
Journalists – as brain dead as ‘the science’. RIP.
I think maybe you are confusing turnout as a percentage of registered voters with turnout as percentage of eligible voters. The turnout as a percentage of eligible voters does indeed rarely exceed 70%. The turnout as a percentage of registered voters regularly exceeds 80% and in 2008 nearly reached 90% https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/statistics/data/voter-turnout-in-presidential-elections. The percentage may well have been higher in the period before 1940 but I cannot find the data.
There were 168.3 million registered voters in the 2020 election. https://www.statista.com/statistics/273743/number-of-registered-voters-in-the-united-states/. This was an exceptionally keenly fought election. Officially 156 million people voted – 93% of registered voters. A record but not unbelievably so.
It looks pretty unbelievable to me, it requires incredible turn outs in various dem cities. Do you really think the poor in America were that engaged?
Remember this the percentage of people who have registered to vote. So they were already sufficiently engaged to register. The percentage of eligible voters was much lower 67%
That’s still incredibly high by us standards, unprecedented actually. We can’t actually verify who voted and hell hole dem cities had every man jack voting Biden. No one could check because they’d get shot going door to door yet all these ppl were desperate to use their suffrage. Do you not think it rather likely ballot box stuffing is going on at an industrial scale in places like Fulton where the Dems run the election and it would actually be practically impossible to stop or even prove so.
The figure for 2016 was 87%. It is regularly over 80% and in 2008 was 90%. Is 93% so incredible? I guess it is up to you what you find unbelievable.
No one has attempted to illegitimately overturn the 2020 election
Are you sure? Like asking Mike Pence to refuse to accept the verdict of the majority of delegates or asking the Georgia Secretary of State to “find” several thousand more votes.
Similar claims were made about the election of George Bush jr as president of the USA. IMHO, that’s an inevitable, although highly undesirable, outcome of professionalization of electioneering in so-called democracies: The only thing which really matters is election outcome and not, how that outcome was achieved. Contesting a lost election is thus just the final way open to the party which lost it to perhaps win it nevertheless and there are doubtlessly people who’d claim that not trying this avenue as well would be unprofessional.
Yep let’s hold elections season instead of election days, and let the count go on for weeks, also let’s use mail in ballots with no chain of custody, plus let’s use machines to count votes. Plus let’s shut down all debate about the son of a vice president collecting bribes on behalf of his dad. Oh yeah and let’s have drop boxes where the same ppl, according to phone records, can drop off large quantities of votes again and again (2000 mules). Yeah 2020 was like totally straight up. According to Tobes the above is all like totally fine.
I forgot to mention the comical flood in Georgia where they actually stopped counting the votes in the middle of the night in good old Fulton county. Strangely no pictures of said flood or flood victims, but no ballots were lost because the floor was slanted. In other news Kim Jong Un shot 31 his first round of golf.

Plus, let’s have a potential‘President’ who campaigned from his basement, who can’t find his way off a stage without help, who can’t string a coherent sentence together or hold an intelligent thought in his head, who openly lies at press conferences then walks off if challenged. His VP, cackling Kamala is no better, a grown up toddler with the IQ of a house brick.
I just cancelled my subscription, I can’t take anymore of the rehashed msm articles or the new direction this site has chosen. It was good while it lasted
All this is the opposite of denial.
Denial is thinking our system of democracy isn’t completely rigged.
Realising it is rigged is awaking to reality.
What maybe is off the mark is the various theories of how it is rigged. Many of these are artisan and see flaws real or otherwise that suit.
But it’s a start down a painful but necessary process.
“While I haven’t looked in detail at the allegations that the 2020 election was stolen I have never seen any compelling evidence that they are true” ———-How do you know if you haven’t looked? ——isn’t this a great example of Group Think?
I think the question in the survey may miss an essential difference. A pissed off Democrat might describe the 2016 election as fraudulent because they believed Trump lied a lot when campaigning. It doesn’t necessarily mean someone manipulated the actual votes. I am not aware of any leading democrats claiming the votes were fiddled in 2016. Whereas Trumpists seems to think there was mass manipulation of the actual votes in 2020 (despite numerous enquiries both democrat and republican finding no evidence)
If you think the new York post being locked by big tech at the direction of the FBI due to publishing an entirely true story about the presidents son collecting bribes from foreign powers on behalf of his father is a free and fair election you aren’t the sharpest tool in the shed. Other points to consider, no chain of custody of ballots, lack of signature verification, drop boxes, bizarre flood in Georgia, long counts, ballot harvesting. A fair election is one conducted in a day, ppl in the main vote in person with postal votes by exception and votes are counted over night, with the result being known the next day. You know how elections always were till 2020. As for enquiries I’d hardly class Liz Cheney as a republican more like the first representative of the us arms trade.

Mail in voting has risen steadily in the USA and was about 20% in 2016. There was a sharp increase in 2020 but that is hardly surprising given fears over Covid (well founded or not).
I think (this is a conjecture with no factual basis) that the ‘democractic’ election strategy for 2020 was Scare people away from voting in person with the help of COVID, win via postal vote, based on the fact that the latter is more difficult to get right and will thus tendencially favour the parts of the electorate who usual vote for them.
What’s a “Trumpist”? I’m no great fan of his and not an anything or anyone “ist” but I’m quite sceptical about what happened.
Rigged doesn’t have to mean crates of ballot papers turning up mysteriously.
The hysteria regarding mis-/dis-/mal-nformation appears to me to be a fairly blatant attempt to put legal barriers to voicing dissent.
Once something has been categorised as such, search engines will filter or deprioritse, social media will limit reach or ban outright, MSM will call it a conspiracy theory.

Then also hiding the news of Hunter Biden’s laptop at just the right time, the whole C19 shitshow, failing to pin Russian collusion on trump, calling Jan 6th a coup, Mark Steyn losing to Michael Mann apparently due to jury bias, etc.
I doubt this is news to anyone here, but it sure seems to be taking a long time for the rest of the world to take notice. Whereas I can’t unsee it now.
I think it’s impossible to say for sure if the 2020 election was rigged, and whether this years election will be rigged. However a huge percentage of postal ballots are for the Democrat candidate and it’s claimed that dead people are still given a postal vote. There’s an American joke along the lines of “my farther was a staunch Rebuplican until he died, then he started voting Democrat”. One things for sure, it shouldn’t be at all surprising that the majority of the dead vote for Biden. They can identify with him, he’s practically one of them.
