Well we’ve discussed this ages ago but now it seems to be something which is actually looking likely to happen, worryingly. Would you take a flight if you knew the plane only had one pilot? I’m glad to see pilots are protesting this; ”Airline pilots handed out flyers at Schiphol Airport on Monday to raise awareness about plans to allow flights with only one pilot in the cockpit, what they believe to be a “worrisome development in aviation.” They referenced plans by aircraft manufacturers, specifically Airbus, in which technology will be used to replace the second pilot in the cockpit at any given moment. Dutch pilots’ union VNV said it has not been proven that such a move would improve safety. Quite the opposite, the labor union argued, deeming it essential to have two pilots working together in the cockpit. “International studies and practice show that humans are the essential factor for high safety standards in aviation. For example, a system lacks creativity, resilience, leadership, teamwork and survival instinct,” the pilots’ association argued. “We support new technology that benefits safety. Two pilots working together with that technology take safety to a higher level.” In addition to aircraft manufacturers, the European… Read more »
Well, a dead person locked in the cockpit won’t be able to handle an emergency, even if there is automatic control all the way to the ground. Remember that since 9/11 it is normal practice to lock them all in to prevent anyone invading it en route.
An absent pilot or a dead pilot hasn’t got to be paid, Ka-ching! the reason
So this is the million dollar question: why do leaders in the West hate their citizens? And they constantly demonstrate this to us across all contexts; ”The actions of Western countries are self-destructive. The question is why. In the past and partially to this day, countries acted in their best interests. When those interests collided with those of other countries, the solution could come either through diplomacy, war, or potentially some form of arbitration. In today’s iteration of international negotiations, countries like China and India continue to think of the benefits of their citizens, if only to guarantee the stability of their governments. These ostensibly developing countries refuse to commit themselves to any program that would reduce energy production or economic progress. They still think as rational countries have always thought: how can I maximize my interests? Their behavior, which one might call normal, stands in stark contrast to that of the Western powers. When they negotiate on climate and other issues, they often look from what they claim is a global perspective and thus often ignore or work against the clear interests of their own people. The tractor protests are a result of European governmental decisions to reduce the… Read more »
What’s really going on? The Russian Presidential Directorate for Cross-Border Cooperation, a subdivision of Putin’s Presidential Administration, established in 2018, whose task is to exert control over neighboring countries that Russia sees as in its sphere of influence: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova, must be working over time: ‘Deputy Chairperson of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev claimed on February 5 that purported European plans to construct a railway line from Spain to Lviv City are evidence of the West’s acknowledgement that Lviv City would be “the new capital of Ukraine within the borders of [Lviv Oblast],” presumably following the end of Russia’s war in Ukraine.’ ‘A projected global railroad going from Spain through the South of Europe, is supposed to end in Lvov. It looks like the first acknowledgement that Lvov-Lemberg will be the new capital of Ukraine within the borders of Lvov region. And the point here is not that the tracks in the West and Malorossiya differ in width. It’s just that business is a lot more prescient than politicians.’ X: Medvedev 05 Feb 2024 (In fact, the plan, notably, has nothing to do with Ukrainian borders or an end state to the war in Ukraine and… Read more »

I agree with Douglas Murray in that I don’t know why our pro-Israel government supposedly gives-in to Islamists but I don’t understand why they give-in to Israel either.
Regarding Douglas Murray’s event, is this why it was cancelled (highlighted by UKColumn yesterday)?
“Douglas Murray was scheduled to host a fundraiser for Israeli soldiers in London tonight, but the event was cancelled after workers refused to staff it even when they were offered triple pay.”

The decision of the staff was made after the ruling at the ICJ about genocidal acts by the Israeli government.
Government actions which are disproved of have nothing to do with religion. Why is the DS not reporting on the ICJ ruling? Why is it conflating Zionism with Judaism? One is political the other is not. It feels to me that by conflating these division is being stoked & discussion is being channelled into a proscribed set of parameters.

VDARE spring conference, by Steve Sailer – The Unz Review
I’ll be there on April 27 and 28th at the Berkeley Springs Castle fortified compound in eastern West Virginia. Only about 90 minutes from Dulles airport.
My book tour works on similar security principles. Contact my publisher and establish your bona fides as not some Antifa thug and you’ll be notified of where and when to meet me.
It’s pretty insane that a bookish, public-spirited intellectual like myself can only appear in semi-public like this due to the threat of political violence, and that it’s not a story in the news.
On the subject of fluoride, “The Fluoride Deception” by Christopher Bryson (2004) is an excellent book. It covers the “safe and effective” promotion of fluoride when the toxic effects were known, cancel culture for the critics, suppression of medical data, the link to the military (atomic weapons development) and subsequently the source of “forever” chemicals. Seems very familiar.
It’s been controversial for many years. Some water suppliers have deliberately increased the level in domestic supplies, e.g. in the West Midlands drawing water from reservoirs in mid-Wales (which is basically soft water). Others don’t, such as Thames Water. The latter do publish their analysis for various areas, and it does turn up naturally along with many other compounds in ground water. E.g in their report for my supply it quotes that there is a regulatory limit of F as 1.5 mg/l, with a mean value of 0.16, between 0.104 & 0.25.
At the other end of the scale, one of the old Dentists I used did prescribe some high F toothpaste, with 5 mg/g, or 5000 ppm. Most commercial toothpaste products do contain some sodium fluoride, often without stating the amount.
There used to typically be two warnings on the toothpaste: a subtle “With sodium fluoride” in large print and a tiny print “Warning” statement on the back which details the age range and quantity for use and how medical attention should be sought if consuming fluoride from other sources – because that’s the sort of thing you’d know. I can’t check a current tube as I stopped using fluoride toothpaste a long time ago without any obvious detrimental effects to my dental health.
In the US fluoride is classed as a poison & there is a warning on toothpaste boxes stating that if toothpaste is swallowed this has to be reported to a toxins body. Yet toothpaste is ‘safe & effective’….
Yesterday’s article on Labour losing the Third World vote appears to be now closed to comments.
Different subject: has anyone ever tried to use the official ‘contact no. 10’ online? I ticked all the boxes and it still said ‘request blocked’.
I know it’s useless, but I was so angry with the man for declaring to the baying sheep in the commons the other day that ‘COVID vaccine is safe’. Got to do something for my sanity!

Just when you’re at risk of feeling bored, Liz Truss opened here mouth to launch the “Popcon” (sic) group in the Tory Party a few minutes agp. Replaced the KIng’s health issue in the headlines for a while!
I like “Popcon.” Is it a new breakfast cereal?
Anybody else wonder whether the King’s cancer is going to be used to normalise mRNA chemotherapy? The fact that there are 3 royals all ill at the same time seems to be a bit odd to me. Is it yet another narrative to normalise ill health of a number of family members at the same time?
Miri writes far better than I do about it.
