Sussex Councillors Want to Twin Historic Hastings With… War-Torn Gaza’s Al-Mawasi Community

Councillors in Hastings, East Sussex, want to twin their seaside town with Al-Mawasi, a community in war-torn Gaza, to show support for refugees. The Mail has more.

Councillors in Hastings have said they support a move to twin the East Sussex town with the war-ridden community of Al-Mawasi in Gaza. …

Julia Hilton, who became the leader of Hastings Borough Council this month, gave her support to the move at a meeting last Wednesday.

Asked by a fellow councillor about the “strong local connection between Hastings and Al-Mawasi” and what the Council intended to do to show “solidarity and support”, the Green Party politician replied that twinning was an “excellent idea” …

She said: “I think, in principle, it sounds an excellent idea.

“We’ve had twinning with all sorts of places all over the world and I understand there is a strong connection already with the group.” …

An online petition has been collecting support for the twinning arrangement among locals in the East Sussex town.

There’s conspiracy theories that some people have disproportionate influence. The Daily Zionist is reinforcing that so-called trope.

There’s obviously more newsworthy items regarding Gaza but based on the DS selections, you’d think nothing was happening.

Logs on to DS thinking, “I wonder if we’ve reached peak mental yet?”. Nope.

Great idea. The Councillors should all be sent to Gaza for a twinning experience.

You wouldn’t want them to discover that their protégés think women belong into the house, that they don’t give a hoot about diversity, abhor homosexuality and transsexualism and don’t believe they have any genders. The culture shock might kill them.

Do you think they would discover tolerance in a Jewish settler community?

Surprisingly yes. All the Israeli’s I have met just want to live their lives without the threat of terrorism being brought to them by Hamas or Hezbollah. A quarter of Israeli citizens are Arab, free to go about their business as they wish. Doesn’t sound very genocidal to me.

Perhaps you should ask yourself about the multi-billionaires who run Hamas, Where did all that money come from, and why don’t they live and invest it in Gaza.?

I have previously commented on Hamas funding and how the UK government wouldn’t touch upon the subject when asked.

The Israeli leadership ensured Hamas was well-funded. They didn’t seem to have an issue with how the money was invested.

It’s interesting that Palestinians are considered a hive-mind of Islamic extremists and Israel a collective of peace loving individuals.

A look through Israeli media says otherwise so why is it Western media is so polarised?

That’s right. It’s anti-Semitic to criticize Israel but it’s OK to murder Semites in Gaza. Gotta hand it to the PR Dept. Same as Bibi says he’ll continue to raze Gaza (not him obvs, too much of a coward) while still following International Law. He’s hated in Israel. Should go back to Poland or Khazaria where he originated from.

Well that’s nonsense Neil. Firstly it’s around 21% are Arab, secondly most Jews in Israel hate the settlers as they cause all the wars with their ILLEGAL settlements including the theft of Area C of the West Bank at a cost of 26% of GDP to the Palestinians. Israel isn’t a country, as RFK Jr said, it’s an ‘aircraft carrier’ for the US – that’s why they pay the equivalent of $33K per person annually to Israel. They need it. The UK/US used traumatised Jews from WWII as a shield. They were NEVER meant to be safe – how would the US survive without arms sales? As for the Arabs being free to go about their business – guessing you’ve never been. They are checked daily. 1 person per day is killed in ‘Israel’ – land of the chosen. But by who? Half of them come from ancestors who never set foot in the Holy Land.

Reporting should cover all semite cutthroats if we are to get news rather than propaganda.

Just shows how little you know. The Gazans get a lot of support from the millions marching worldwide. For years they’ve been forgotten. Stop guessing and try to find a soul – or at least empathy, or better still, another handle – something more apt the soundofreason – maybe thefaceofracism.

What’s so shocking about it soldier? We’ve twinned with towns in Germany we pummeled – why not one in Gaza who we provide the arms to destroy – financed by the numb nuts taxpayer who knows no better.

What is the point of twinning towns and cities actually? I’ve never understood it. Well talking of refugees, the latest update on countries withdrawing financial support for the terrorist-enabling, corrupt organization, UNRWA, is 15 countries and now the EU have stopped their funding;

Firstly it’s an accusation from Mossad and we all know how accurate they are – didn’t know there was an impending attack? Really? Even though Hamas military wing is infiltrated and Egypt told you? Read the eye-witness testimonies of those at the festival (victims) at October7.org – doesn’t chime with the official narrative one bit. Tanks firing into buildings, missiles from overhead, escape routes closed – even the Knesset has now suggested it was an inside job. https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20240128-israeli-knesset-member-says-traitors-from-within-might-be-behind-hamas-attack/
The only question for UNRWA to answer is whether any UNRWA workers went to Israel on Oct 7.
This is for the collective West to starve Gaza further so Israel/US/UK and its fascist supporters can continue their colonialist expansion.

The will of the people is the law – but not at the DS if – God forbid – it errs on the side of humanity. When Israel is found guilty of genocide (and 15-2/16-1 ICJ judges believing there is a case to answer is a good start), the UK & US will be charged with aiding and abetting and have to account for their own terrorism since WWII – 83 wars and regime changes should suffice. And no nukes in Suffolk thanks you warmongering fascists. 10% taxes go on interest on the loans (fake money) to fund wars, pandemics and green ‘investment’ and 6% on subsidising the arms industry. Good on ya Hastings – means a lot to the people of Gaza not to be forgotten (as they have been over the decades) as don the ‘hate’ marches – also attended by thousands of Jews and Jewish orgs who are ashamed to tarred with the same brush as the so-called Jewish State.
