Amanda Blanc, or should it just be Amanda Blanche? I mused, as you spelled out that blanc meant ‘white’ in French. I decided it was all likely going over people’s heads.
Then Toby uses the word ‘whorey’ in the very next sentence, cunningly playing on the pun with ‘hoary’, meaning white. My confidence in the sophistication of the pod was restored.
