Hospitals Record Newborn Babies’ “Gender Identity” Instead of Sex
Newborn babies are only given the option to have their “gender identity” recorded rather than their biological sex when they are discharged from some London hospitals. The Mail has more.
Midwives filling in forms for babies born at London’s Guy’s and Thomas’ Hospital and King’s College Hospital only have the option to select “gender identity” on a new £450 million IT system. …
Women’s rights campaigners said the move was yet another chilling sign of transgender activism’s influence within the NHS that has led to rows over other language changes such as removing the word ‘women’ or ‘mother’ from some health services.
Hospitals have always kept official records of babies’ biological sex. The discharge summaries contain vital health information about the birth and form part of a patient’s permanent NHS health record. The forms are sent to the child’s GP, health visitors and other hospitals for post-natal care.

The changes came in as part of a new computer system called EPIC went live across several London teaching hospitals. At least six more NHS trusts nationwide are to roll out the system, which will cost taxpayers £450 million over the next 15 years. …
The whistle-blower said NHS wokery had led to a “climate of fear” among some midwives. Medics are encouraged to use the term “birthing parent” rather than ‘mother’ and discuss “chest-feeding” instead of ‘breast-feeding’.

I hope they ask the babies rather than making assumptions based on the presence of genitalia
Did the babies asked to be born and worse the babies had no choice of parents? This is disrespectful in the extreme.

How dare we look at babies’ genitals and define them without asking them? We should be ashamed. Misgendered at birth. Lawsuits in the making. There’s no consent.

If I witness an assault and the police ask me the gender of the attacker I assume the only acceptable response would be “I’ve absolutely no idea: I didn’t get chance to ask them”.
Any for I have to fill in with “gender” sees it crossed out, and “sex” substituted…
“Other” is a useful entry on digital forms – I refuse to be pigeon holed for the purpose of someone/ some other entity’s biased conclusions – I don’t comply with “ white English” either – I’m either English. “ other” or “ human being” as the form allows …
