This will be a first – well since the lockdown protests. Are we likely to see militarily trained “police” on our streets who have sun tans?

Surely not.

“in an effort to prevent violent clashes between pro-Palestinian and far-Right protesters”

Interesting that the “far-Right” is seemingly equated to pro-Israel but not surprising given the criticism of the Jewish state becoming one of fascism under Netanyahu.

The “Football Lads Alliance” on-hand to protect a memorial representing those who died in support of Other Interests many decades ago back when it was easier to convince the masses it was a noble cause. Fast forward to 2020 and Captain Moore is lauded a hero for 100 laps of his garden like a PoW because the government took his freedom.

As GW Bush put it “when you and your friends see a man or woman in uniform, say, ‘Thank you.'” – for the share price.

Well this surprised me actually. They can do their job when it suits, although they’re going to have their work cut out today I expect;

”A third woman has been charged with showing support for a terrorist group as part of a Met investigation into activity at a central London protest last month.

Noimutu Olayinka Taiwo, 27 (11.04.96) of south London, was charged on Thursday, 9 November with an offence under Section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000 (publication of images supporting a proscribed organisation).
The wording of the charge is as follows:

On 14 October, in a public place, namely Whitehall, carried or displayed an article, namely an image displaying a paraglider, in such a way or in such circumstances as to arouse reasonable suspicion that she is a supporter of a proscribed organisation, namely Hamas, contrary to section 13(1) Terrorism Act 2000.
She is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 10 November. The case is listed for 1430hrs, but media may wish to check with the court.”

“work cut out today” = no shortage of overtime this weekend. Either next year’s Met Police precept on the London Borough Council Tax will go up, or they’ll cut back on something else.

Give them a brillo pad apiece and a bucket of water and tell them they will stay there until it is clean.

For their safety they should be provided with a Serco safety “officer” round the clock.

Just in case they get frisky and to ensure they do not default on their sentence a dog collar should be employed.

In view of yesterday’s complaint about a lack of updates on Ukraine, here’s what is really going on: ‘Ukrainian forces have been conducting an interdiction campaign against Russian military infrastructure in occupied Crimea, primarily BSF assets, since June 2023 to degrade the Russian military’s ability to use Crimea as a staging and rear area for Russian operations in southern Ukraine’ ‘A prominent Russian milblogger (rybar) reiterated common complaints about inadequate Russian counterbattery fire, electronic warfare, air defense, and assault operations along the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast. The milblogger especially complained about improper usage of the Russian 10th Spetsnaz Brigade (Main Military Intelligence Directorate [GRU]) to conduct frontal assaults like standard infantry against Ukrainian positions on the east bank even though these frontal assaults are ineffective in this area.’ ‘A Russian milblogger (dva_majors) complained that Russian forces struggle with the “ossification” of poor habits and conduct within the Russian military. These habits include poor communications, lack of proper preparations before or support during assault missions, conducting rotations in columns, Russian commanders selling frontline aid, and uninterest in learning from military mistakes and acknowledging poor battlefield realities.’ ‘Russian forces are already using 537 Desertcross 1000-3 vehicles in combat and that Russia plans… Read more »

Map Shows Another Key Ukraine City Almost Fully Encircled By 40K Russian Troops
“More evidence has emerged this week that Russia is poised to soon solidify hold over all of the Donetsk region, in yet more bad news for Ukraine, after its struggled to make any gains at all for the last six months.
Newly published military maps show that Russian forces are in the midst of a large pincer move involving some 40,000 troops closing in on the key city of Avdiivka, which has long been a Moscow objective since the war’s start. “

Good one…..not really….’Zero Hedge has become “a forum for the hateful, conspiracy-driven voices of the angry white men of the alt-right. Racists, anti-Semites, extreme right-wingers, and conspiracy nuts….’ ‘…..intelligence officials from the United States claimed that Zero Hedge has amplified Russian propaganda by publishing articles written by Russian state-run media.’ Oh dear……! Avdiivka is a killing ground, just like Bakhmut….. ‘November 11 evening situation report that Russian forces only conducted 14 attacks during the day. This tempo is more consistent with the number of Russian assaults reported in the Avdiivka direction in the past week, indicating that the increase in Russian attacks between November 10-11 was likely to consolidate gains near Stepove.’ ‘One milblogger (Boris Rozhin) emphasized on November 11 that the Russian practice of conducting tactical assaults intended to storm Ukrainian fortified positions in forest areas of Donbas will not translate into a wider operational breakthrough anywhere on the front. The milblogger noted that there is no way to train enough Russian personnel for the intensive frontal assaults required for significant advances in Ukraine. Another milblogger (Akela Zavtra) claimed that the Russian military is about to experience a “real renaissance of infantry combat” because there are fewer tanks, infantry fighting… Read more »

You do the Maths “Electric car drivers should pay for the damage they’re doing to our roads”  This article refers to the weight of EVs much of which is related to the battery which can be up to 500kg in weight. To my mind this quantity of raw materials is looking like an significant limiting factor in the likely number of EVs the UK can manage to have on its roads. The re-cycling of EV batteries is difficult and as far as I am aware there is only one major initial processor of spent EV batteries in the UK, based in Wolverhampton; https://www.catmag.co.uk/article/uks-first-industry-scale-ev-battery-recycling-plant-opens/#:~:text=Recyclus%2C%20based%20in%20Wolverhampton%2C%20claims,including%20electric%20cars%2C%20each%20year. This article states that the firm charges up to £8.4 per kilo to process spent EV batteries. And so whoever is left holding an EV at the end of its life could be looking at a charge of £4000 to £5000 to scrap their car. This is in stark contrast to the small amount of money that a scrap company will often pay you when you scrap an ICE vehicle. Who will want to buy an older secondhand EV with that sort of potential end of life cost attached? Clearly re-cycling EV batteries is a developing industry… Read more »

While it’s true that all EVs are heavier than the alternative, all cars have put on weight over the years, often on account of improved safety. However, recently, my neighbour had an EV on loan from a dealer that was doing a repair job on his normal car, and I looked up it’s registered weight. Compared with my T Hybrid of the same size, it’s 684 Kg or 55% heavier. He didn’t buy it btw – so the sale didn’t work out for the dealer.

My almost 5 year old A Class hatchback weighs the same, so I don’t necessarily think that the weight of EV’s is the only issue with them.
The bigger problem is the materials in the batteries, the limited lifespan of them, the recycling nightmare cost, all far more serious problems than my diesel car.

“…the battery which can be up to 500kg in weight…”

EVBox on LinkedIn states:

“On average, EV batteries weigh around 454 kg (1,000 pounds), with bigger models weighing as much as 900 kg (2,000 pounds) and some even up to 1,800 kg (4,000 pounds). “

More on why the Arab states aren’t falling over themselves to help the Palestinians; ”Historically, Arab states have primarily cared about the Palestinians to the extent that they could use them as a trump card with which to shame Israel and isolate it in the international community. That’s why 1.5 million Palestinians still live in refugee camps set up during and after the 1948 war. The Arab states maintain these camps—and their squalid living conditions—to pressure Israel into granting a “right of return” whereby millions of Palestinians would flood the Jewish state, negating its Jewish majority and therefore its existence.  If the Arab regimes can’t keep the Palestinians in camps, they have other ways of making sure they don’t integrate into their societies. In Lebanon, for example, Palestinians are banned from 39 professions, including areas of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and law. In most Arab states, Palestinians are considered foreigners and are denied citizenship and basic rights of any kind.  The truth is, Arab states are getting increasingly fed up supporting the Palestinians. It’s why a growing number are pursuing peace with Israel without a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. So far, four Arab states—the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco—have… Read more »

Addendum: Watch this mini clip then wonder no more why Egypt kept its border closed even to women and children. In fact, they went on to fortify their already formidable barrier, just to be on the safe side. The reason why half the population of Gaza is made up of kids becomes very clear. Many are destined to become martyrs;

DS falling into the globalist trap with its own form of grievance politics and victim politics. 21 links today from Mr Young on why the anti-genocide march in London needs to be stopped. The rest on how something needs to be done to protect the Jewish people in the UK who feel threatened by mean talk. I bet you can ask Owen Jones for his LGBQT+ playbook on how to attack free speech because of hurty words.

also Douglas Murray is annoying as hell. He along with Oeterson were incapable of noticing the Covid/Vax hoax. All they like to talk about is the culture war. They are not helpful.

It didn’t take much to turn DS into a forum for a new form of victim politics and the L-R division politics.

This has been an education though to show up the hypocrites and useful idiots on the right.

On the Gaza conflict issue, the DS has descended to promoting fake binaries.

Below the line, the majority of sceptics rejects fake binaries and stands with all civilians, of all creeds, with humanity, with peace, with armistice.

I contend that a majority of sceptics would echo this veteran’s sentiment –

That the military establishment of Israel is genocidal is very clear –

https://t.me/robinmg/31766

It is very highly likely that deep state actors will infiltrate any peaceful march and attempt to incite violence.

We as sceptics ought to stand with all civilians, of all creeds, with peace, with ceasefire, with humanity.

ceasefire”

I generally agree with your closing sentence, but with respect it’s perhaps a bit too simplistic. I’m not saying this applies to Israel but hypothetically if you’re attacked by an enemy, repeatedly, that is intent on destroying you, then peace for your country may well only be achieved by defeating that enemy, and “ceasefire” merely gives your enemy time to regroup.

Readers of DS will not be surprised to hear that the actress Melle Stewart (above), having been been badly injured by AZ, went on to take another, alternative booster jab later. A la Gareth Eve, you could say, following Lisa Shaw’s injury. These people have such blind faith that there is no saving them.

We ought to stop subscribing to the fake binaries of the Powers-That-Be (aka EPS, as in Evil Psychopathic Scum).

The ex-serviceman gentleman in the clip above thinks he’s been labelled something by the press.
NO. The press is merely trying to create the fake binary. The Antithesis to any Thesis.

Let us operate and articulate with nuance. Let us reject all fake binaries.

Fraser Myers has rightly accused Owen Jones of hypocrisy.
But, mindful of his attitude to Andrew Bridgen MP, there are shades of pot calling the kettle black.
