Meet the Blade Runners – The Underground Activist Group Waging War on Sadiq Khan’s Ulez Monitors

Activists, dubbed ‘Blade Runners’, have been caught on video sabotaging Ulez cameras in London. The secretive group claim to have taken down hundreds of low-emission monitors across the capital. The Mail has the story.

A ‘Blade Runner’ was seen sabotaging two of Sadiq Khan’s much-hated Ulez cameras as nearby diners nonchalantly watched on.

A member from the secret activist group can be seen in a video purposefully walking into view and hoisting what appears to be a tree lopper in the air.

The hooded masked figure then strolls towards the Ulez camera attached to a traffic light believed to be outside The Swan and Mitre Greene King pub in Bromley, South East London, and snips the cable.

One woman smoking a cigarette looks around at the dark-clothed figure before carrying on with her conversation, while a bearded man with sunglasses on his head films the vandalism on his phone. …

Bromley is part of the area where the Ulez will soon expand with its local authority one of the coalition of councils who unsuccessfully challenged Mr. Khan’s plans in the High Court.

It comes amid a campaign of anti-Ulez action from the secretive group, who have targeted cameras elsewhere in London.

The Blade Runners vowed back in July they would stop at nothing until they had taken down every single one of the Ulez cameras

That month an onlooker filmed a man calmly unscrewing one of the cameras as the hatred of the Mayor of London’s low emission scheme began to grow as the expansion date drew nearer.

A month later a Blade Runner climbed a lamp post and used a drill to tear down an enforcement camera in Bromley. …

Since April the covert group has been stealing and vandalising the Mayor of London’s Ulez cameras ahead of the zone being expanded.

The group has been attacking ANPR cameras that catch out drivers using high-polluting vehicles across the capital.

The London Mayor’s controversial scheme will force Londoners to pay £12.50 a day to drive in Greater London from August 29th, if their cars don’t meet certain environmental standards.

One of the secretive Blade Runners met with MailOnline and vowed: “We are going to take down every single one no matter what.”

Dressed in a balaclava to protect his identity, the father in his mid-forties revealed he had stolen 34 Ulez cameras himself but his group and others like them have taken down hundreds.

He told MailOnline: “In terms of damage, it’s way more than what [Khan and TfL] have stated. It’s at least a couple of hundred.” …

As of March 21st, 2023, the Mayor’s office said there were 43 instances of vandalism or theft to Ulez cameras.

That number increased to 200 by July and sparked Mr. Khan to threaten to use mobile cameras.

TfL said it would no longer provide details on just how many cameras were being vandalised, as there is “danger of inadvertently giving [vandals] the oxygen of publicity,” Mr. Khan said.

I wonder: if I sabotage a government-installed gas chamber, am I still a ‘vandal’?

Yes, and you don’t get to feel all warm and virtuous for being part of “the solution”.

Hitler (refer Prophet Orwell’s gas chamber reference ) presented a problem and a solution; the former was invented and used as justification the latter.

No, not really, and certainly not in the traditional sense. I have come to believe there is more to this world than meets the eye (particularly after the trials of the last few years), but think I’m currently most aligned with the VR theory that many scientists are now starting to consider as very plausible. Of course, to even believe that, then there must be a higher power of some sort.

The thing about rules is not that simple. If someone in a position of power, but the populus don’t do it, it has to be enforced somehow. Khan chose a way that is subject to easy removal of the enforcement. He says mobile cameras are the answer, but he would need thousands to work. The answer is not to make stupid rules in the first place, particularly as he has lied many times about the purpose of the rule. Pollution has recently been independantly measured. It is within the permitted level everywhere in central London, except on the underground tube sections. Khan should stop the tube now, but he will not, and therefore his “pollution” idea is false, it is the money he wants as closing the tube would cost him a lot of revenue. It always works for diagnosis, just follow the money!

Since April the covert group has been stealing and vandalising the Mayor of London’s Ulez cameras ahead of the zone being expanded.” Well the Mayor, repulsive little scumbag that he is, is stealing and vandalising everyone’s freedom of movement. Except his own of course as he swans around in his chauffeur driven limo or jets off to global climate conferences, no doubt business or even first class, he may be a scumbag but he’s a very important scumbag.

The “scumbag” understands he is hated, that is why he has an armoured Range Rover for himself, he is actually frightened of London and the population he despises! He made it dangerous, we should remove his car. I suspect he will get an armed pretorian guard next, just like Putin! Birds of a feather!

These gentlemen should be applauded for preventing a tyrannical surveillance wealth transfer scheme from being functional. They are truly defending the freedom of movement of motorists, who have already paid road tax.
They have a lot to lose but are prepared to do so for the good of their fellow countrymen & women.

Thumbs up. But why didn’t they and people rise up against the original ULEZ already?
That is the question, and was the start of that particular slippery slope.

Doing a Mogs – this is from Lawyers of Light Telegram channel. As always, right on the money regarding how folk were discriminated against because they exercised their right to make a decision about their medical treatment instead of blindly following the herd. “An unvaccinated driving instructor won a payout after his employer discriminated against his “sincerely held beliefs” about not taking medicine”.  “Aaron Green successfully sued the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) for £6,336 after it refused him overtime because he had not been vaccinated twice against Covid”.  “A tribunal heard that Jens Gavermark, Mr Green’s manager, rejected his request to work overtime in October 2021, claiming that the policy was “paused”. “But after a colleague had a similar request approved the same day, Mr Green was told he could not work extra hours until a risk assessment had been carried out as he had not been double jabbed”. We said this would happen. Bring on the lawsuits but to be fair what is uber annoying and people DO NOT put two and two together on, is that if the employer discriminated because they were following the Government’s “rules” then it’s fecking obvious the Government discriminated too by… Read more »

Not surprised at the DVSA approach. A couple of months ago my daughter took her first driving test and the examiner was wearing a face nappy which didn’t exactly help with her communication skills

Ye gods! Brainwashed with the fear propaganda…
Muzzles muzzle communication. If it happens again, your daughter could say that she couldn’t understand the last examiner as her communication was impaired by wearing a muzzle & she’d really like to ensure that she could clearly hear & understand what the examiner was saying.

Years ago it was claimed that putting a layer of hair spray over a number plate would result in glare from the flash of speed cameras and mean they couldn’t get a clear picture. If this actually works it’s something Londoner’s need to be reminded of.

Flash not required any more mate, it won’t work. I have a better idea, LCD number plates and a dial inside to change it to anything you like. So much more effective!! Anybody like to sponsor the design and production?

I know I shouldn’t support this, but – thanks to the tyranny of Khan – I’m afraid I do. Sometimes “bad law” has to be challenged in the only waty they understand.

Not that I’m one to advocate breaking the law but as I’ve said before “when tyranny becomes law rebellion becomes duty”. I believe this is a case in point. Carry on ladies and gentlemen keep up the good work.

As for Khan there is I believe an old Arabic curse “may the flees of a thousand camels infest your a… hole.”

So who are the freedom fighters and who are the terrorists? Are the Just Stop Oil traffic disruptors the terrorists or freedom fighters or are the Ulez resistance Movement the ones? mmmmmm . Well, if your a brainwashed climate change dreamer you will think you know which one is which.
