Church of England Teaches White Pupils They Benefit From “the Systematic Oppression of People of Colour”
Church of England school pupils are being taught that they benefit from white privilege, a report has found. The Telegraph has the story.
Teachers at schools in the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich have been told to teach pupils that they “benefit from the systematic oppression of People of Colour through racist policies and practice”.
Teaching guidance issued by the diocese, which oversees 87 schools, states that pupils should learn that white privilege means they are “the dominant representation on all media”, “no one questions your citizenship”, “you may have inherited power and wealth”, and “your actions aren’t perceived to be those of your entire race”.
It adds: “To combat white privilege, keep learning about what it is, amplify the voices of People of Colour, be more than just ‘not racist’ but actively ‘anti-racist’ and confront racial injustices even when it feels uncomfortable.”
The guidance on responding to racism also states that pupils should learn about the “white supremacy pyramid” to show “how bias, stereotypes and prejudice can lead to racist words and actions, leading to physical harm and death”.
It adds: “Systemic racism exists in inequalities of wealth, education, employment, housing and health”.
The diocese’s teaching guidance has emerged as part of a report by the campaign group Don’t Divide Us on how critical race theory is being taught in schools.
Of 49 third-party organisations providing teacher training or resources for schools, 48 were promoting contested political beliefs around race theory as fact, the research found.
Nigel Genders, the Church of England’s Chief Education Officer, said:
Racism exists in our society, and both children and staff experience racism in schools every day.
The Church of England is committed to addressing racial injustice and we encourage children in our schools to be courageous advocates for equality and to challenge prejudice without political partiality.
Our aim is to resource and lead learning experiences for all children which consistently and intentionally celebrate equity, diversity, belonging, inclusion and justice at every opportunity, and to ensure that staff and children can flourish irrespective of ethnicity.
Just the latest evidence that the CofE has really bought all the woke race stuff and clearly doesn’t care that it alienates many of its core supporters. It’s hard to see how disappearing down the anti-white rabbit-hole of Critical Race Theory can do anything other than accelerate its decline.

Doesn’t telling white pupils that “they” are the dominant representation on all media mean that their actions are perceived to be those of the entire race? And might it not be reasonable for a racial majority to be represented as that majority in the media, just as I would expect to be the case in Mongolia or Botswana?
Might their citizenship not be questioned because their ancestors have been in this country since the mesolithic?
What if they have not inherited power and wealth? Why does the advantage of those who have so inherited accrue to them, simply because privilege is “perceived to be that of the entire race”?
If they are faithful Anglicans, where is the representation of that minority status in the media?

Well said in every particular. The double standard is clear – others may be granted exemption from racial condemnation but you, “white people” are not. But there is worse. The left – which now includes the spineless, ignorant, worthless C of E – deliberately and maliciously confuses matters of kinship with matters of rank. Members of any race will feel that this or that people is closer than others. The Chinese, for example, will feel greater familiarity with Koreans than with Finns or Moroccans. Similarly, Europeans will naturally and properly arrange the peoples of the world along a spectrum of relatedness. This does not mean they disdain or sneer at anyone. The distinction would be obvious to a child but is obvious no longer to our corrupt and cowed society. Indeed. Continuing a theme from politics and other fields, decline and failure don’t seem to matter to these people – everything they do is either just fanatical lunacy or angled to their next role in some other body, nationally or globally. Their audience is not the people they are meant to serve but their peers in the “elite”.

I once answered one of the routine Where are you from? questions with Reading as I’ve been living here for long enough that I may have met some of the people who are now eighteen when they were six. The immediate reply was No, I mean where are you really from!, a statement which caused a national scandal when a black woman intentionally costumed as African was thus addressed. Because of my so-called white privilege, that’s not supposed to happen. Teaches the CofE. And that’s horseshit because there are other properties immediately marking anyone as not native.
Coming from a long line of farm workers and coal miners, I can tell you that any privilege I have was earned and paid for by my ancestors who lived brutally hard and short lives so that their kids could have a better life. Suggesting that it is just because of the colour of our skin is really insulting. White Europeans have been the driving force on almost every advancement in the world especially for the last 1,000 years. We will share our enlightenment with others, but they shouldn’t make out that we got it for nothing or off the backs of black people..

My White privilege also includes the creation of welfare, sanitation, hospitals, hospices, shelters, and the ending of the Black slave trade with £20 mn paid in 1833 to free 800 K Black slaves and end the practice a debt only paid off in 1999.
I note that Muslims and Blacks still own black slaves in Africa today.

If I went to Japan and half the people on their commercials were white, I’d wonder what the f*** was going on. That’s very nicely worded. The very fabric of Christianity is based on the notion that every human being on this planet is an equally valuable child of God. Trying to get children to become neurotic about their heritage because of their accursed skin colour is thus directly anti-Christian. One could also call this Doing the work of the Antichrist.
Reality is probably less satanic, though. The church provides safe employment opportunities for people who studied theology. Hence, woketurds who don’t give a hoot about religious teachings do this as career choice and once inside the system, preach about what they always preach about.

Before there were significant numbers of “people of colour” in Britain, the signs went up saying “No Irish.” My family (here since 1820) have no memories of discrimination, but no doubt it existed. Substitute “black” for “Irish” on the page and I challenge you to distinguish anti-hibernianism from racism. And yet critical race theory is blind to it, because Irish people are privileged and white. I have Irish friends not much older than me who remember ‘No blacks, no dogs, no Irish’ signs. I’m in my late 40s and remember being treated as effectively a different ethnicity for being Catholic (a consequence of having an Irish great grandmother who moved here before Irish independence). CRT is a grift, but a dangerously persuasive one.
One is tempted to call it the longest suicide note in history but their decline is far more sinister than that. The Anglican mythos never contained wthin it unconditional support for the status quo or some excuse whereby it could simply act vague about things. This is not a new development at all and look at from a spiritual perspective it is clear that this is wilful destruction. One of the sadder consequences is the emergence of a disturbed and neurotic class of people whose creed is essentially Christianity robbed of transcendence and metaphysics. They attempt to import things from Christianity and this cannot be done. The whole framework of the gospels was in a sense the triumph of the realm of the absurd. At every step the message was tempered and quiet and thus beautiful. Like when a man came down from Jericho to Jerusalem and fell amongst thieves. These people are just looking for the spiritual core.

Yet, for example, we have a non-white Prime Minister, non-white Scottish First Minister and many non-white MP’s. I’m sure they would all argue against the suggestion that they reached those positions through positive discrimination so how is it they weren’t held back by this systemic racism?
Perhaps there is only privilege and supremacy exercised by those in a position to do so and colour is not a significant factor.

I recently made the effort to travel to the Great Wen, now no longer an English city at all. I travelled across to Greenwich to have what is likely to be my last visit to the Cutty Sark, the Maritime Museum etc. Both their and en route, (on the top of a bus,) I saw a number (six or seven?) of “school trips” out and about.
I’m sure all readers here will be amazed to learn that, in every case, white kids were, at most, three out of the whole class. The kids seemed pretty well behaved, fairly interested in what they had come to see. No obvious problems in a brief encounter.
But if Mr. Genders’ wise and obviously very Christian advice were to be taken to heart in the kids’ schools, what lesson, I wonder, would the kids learn? No danger of any bullying? No poor little white kid feeling a bit, hmmm, put on a guilt trip?
Surely not!
No doubt Welby and his chums have even now, a “Ms Racy” preparing an equally instructive policy on Genders to be disseminated.
My children are grown-up, but if I had young children I would seriously consider alternative schooling.
Why not get like-minded parents together and start home schooling?

Ignoring the absurdity that it’s okay to discriminate against someone who has a pale skin but not if they have a dark skin, the data really doesn’t support the narrative. After Romany and traveller Irish, the most disadvantaged group in UK society are working class white males followed by white poor females. At the top are Chinese followed by Indians (not white last time I looked). It is simply based on belief (like ‘safe and effective’) with the view that you should never let evidence get in the way of a good story. Yes ‘Systemic racism exists in inequalities of wealth, education, employment, housing and health’ but it works against a number of groups including poor, working class whites. Inequalities are wrong because they’re wrong, not because of who suffers as a result.
