Laurence Fox Launches Boycott of Grind as Coffee Chain Becomes Latest to Pull Ads From GB News

A coffee chain has become the latest company to pull advertising from GB News in a “massive advertising boycott” that has left the channel struggling to secure vital advertising income. The Telegraph has the story.

Grind, a network of cafes with 14 outlets across London, confirmed this week that it had cancelled “all future spend” with GB News after it was criticised by a campaign group for advertising on the channel.

In a message to the business on Twitter last week, climate pressure group Stop Funding Heat said: “Hi Grind – we’re sorry to say that your advertising has been spotted showing up on GB News… surely this isn’t the kind of channel you want to be aligned with?”

It posted a video of extracts from GB News coverage of climate issues, in which presenters called the activist Greta Thunberg “this annoying little Swedish teenager”.

On Monday, Grind announced that it would no longer be advertising with the channel.

In a reply, Grind said: “We’d like to thank you for bringing this to our attention, needless to say we’ve pulled all future spend from GB News.”

GB News presenter Michelle Dewberry said the coffee shop’s withdrawal was damaging to free speech. In a broadcast on the channel, she said: “We are subject to a massive advertising boycott and we have been ever since, well before we’d even broadcast a second’s worth of content.”

“Politically motivated online pressure groups have made it their life’s work to try and close us down.”

Reclaim Party leader Laurence Fox and journalist Emma Woolf, among others, have called for a boycott of Grind under the Twitter hashtag ‘#BoycottGrind’.

“Will never buy your products ever. I encourage anyone who supports free speech to #BoycottGrind. Get your coffee stuff from somewhere else. Companies who promote censorship like @grind should be ground out of existence. Hit them where it hurts,” Fox wrote.

Watch this 4min clip of Dr Malik talking to another doctor. It’s what we’ve talked about so many times on here. Why are the vast majority of doctors total cowards who do not speak up about all of the anomalies and increases in disease they are seeing, who turn their backs on their oath to first do no harm and their duty of care to their patients? They are pathetic, spineless cowards. I should check out the full interview really..

Interesting that Grind is not criticised for contributing to emissions with their South American coffee but where their adverts appear.

That has ”QAnon” written all over it and presumably Gibson is still an antisemitic, wife-beating, arrogant arse-weasel!

BTW, I think we can all agree that people/child trafficking is a huge problem, but the moment people start mentioning the Clintons, Satanic rituals that include human sacrifice that the world’s elite ( who are always closet blood-thirsty paedophiles ) are all in on right under our noses my ‘QAnon BSometer’ goes mental. I’ve only seen the odd clip and that was enough to make me give the whole thing a wide berth, so strong was the whiff of far-fetched, desperation for ‘bums on seats box office success’ nonsense. But I might be wrong. You should see it and come back to tell us what you thought. I’ll stick with The Witcher series 3.

He’s far more anti-English than anti-Jewish but too thick to grasp that Gibson isn’t a Celtic name.

Morning Mogs before I reply what’s your take on Rutte,s resignation etc ? Anyway moving on – excuse my ignorance but I have a dyslexic block over QAnon ! What the F is it ?? The name pisses me off so I can’t absorb it 🥴 Now the main topic – “Mel Gibson” loved him in Mad Max, Lethal Weapon & even Braveheart , the latter I would love to watch again but the final scenes of Wallace’s slow torture are too much 😨, it highlights how fucking cruel us humans can be ! Nothings changed has it !! Gibsons Anti English theme in BH bugged me for years & he got me at it again in the Patriot ! However I now think he along with his Dad were onto something & he was massively smeared after his drunken rant ! Is there any proof of his alleged misdemeanours btw .

I tend not to spend 2 quid on a cup of coffee that I could make for 15 pence, but I have never heard of this bunch of woke capitalists, but the list of such companies is growing by the day as they all seek to score more ESG points.

The Liberal left hate you having a choice of views and opinions, because they fear you won’t choose their world view. They need to terrorise and intimidate to get their own way, mostly because their silly arguments don’t stand up to the least bit of scrutiny. It is the same everywhere you look regarding progressive political agenda’s.——On climate eg, any scientist who dares question current orthodoxy is either sacked and hounded out or his talks are full of pretend to save the planet hecklers shouting him down and he is accused of taking money from oil companies. So what exactly are GB news guilty of? —NOTHING. They ask questions that Progressives don’t want asking, because they cannot answer them. All they can do is spit blood out of their eyes and sit in their little castles on top of the moral high ground hurling abuse at all the “racists, transphobes, Islamaphobes, and climate deniers.—- When all you can do is indulge in name calling then all it reveals is one thing. —-Your argument is WEAK. So you have to pretend there is no other point of view at all and all of polite society should condemn you if you have… Read more »

I don’t understand why GB News can’t take legal action against SFH . GB News is a licensed channel, it operates under OFCOM’s rules or it would be taken off air. So SFH are basically running a defamation campaign in order to try to bankrupt a legitimate business. For that matter, can’t OFCOM itself get involved?

And yes, I know they’re run by WEF weirdos!

I think what is happening here is the use of the morality argument. Pressure is put on advertisers from the morality point of view, similar to when the race card gets played and individuals or corporations fear being branded racist so often capitulate. Or when people will get called “climate change deniers”, they fear a backlash as it is very often the case that they will be ridiculed or accused of going against science or siding with “greedy energy companies” seeking to destroy the planet etc etc. —-It is often seen as the easy option to just blend in with the groupthink rather than fight against it. ———-This is ofcourse cowardly, but in business choices have to be made.

Been saying that for a long time. A new diaspora. People who want to live in a welfarist, biosecurity state can live in one place and people who want a more libertarian life can move to somewhere else! There’s an interesting article on Reason at the moment…

Interesting; thanks for that link. I think if I were them I would feel more comfortable with borders and an army.

In many ways the USA was the best model but somehow they have allowed the federal level government and its associated agencies to get far too big and powerful. But still you can move to a state that suits your political philosophy and have some small level of protection from the madness.

I don’t watch the channel all that often but I have always found it to be the most balanced Politics / Society channel on TV by a very long way. That is why its detractors hate it – they loathe balanced debate and truth. I’d actually pay a subscription for GB News simply because I believe in truth and genuine debate. GB News always presents both sides of any debate.

As I am sure you are aware? The licence is to watch live TV. Although yes all the cash collected does fund the BBC.

Of course this means that if you wish to watch GB News, all you need to do is find them via a PC or smart TV and delay their broadcast by 5 minutes or so. The delay is unlikely to affect your enjoyment of the content and would be perfectly legal.

That’s OK. Let them spend their money where they wish. They could even make a donation or pay extra to help Grind get over the lack of custom they might get from suspending or changing their advertising. The more that businesses restrict their appeal to one ‘side’ or the other the more we’ll know who we want to do business with.

It does really sound like a mafia protection racket: “Hi Grind – we’re sorry to say that your advertising has been spotted showing up on GB News… surely this isn’t the kind of channel you want to be aligned with?” it only lacks: “We know where your kids go to school – it’s a terrible dangerous road for a school, that is.” to complete the picture.

It should work both ways though, the Stop Funding heat organisation are also increasing their profile by creating this campaign.

How about “Hi SFH we hear you’ve been leaching publicity off GB News, are you sure you wish your name to be associated with them?”.

Anti-woke boycotts have been quite successful in the U.S. recently. Witness Bud Light & Target in particular. We need to make more and better use of this tactic.

But it has to be led by someone with a large and respected social media following, targeted carefully, and promoted well. A myriad of small boycott attempts such as this of ‘Grind’ will blunt any potential effectiveness and discourage people who might otherwise lend support.

NeilofWatford

Yet again, I appeal to somebody out there, can we please have a register of UK based companies who promote wokism so we can – en masse – deny them our cash.
The boycotts must be specific and targetted.
Don’t give your money to people who hate you.
Gloves off.
