Oxford College Threatens to Expel Students Who Misgender Trans Peers

It looks like at least one Oxford college didn’t get the memo. In a step backwards following Kathleen Stock’s successful event at the Oxford Union earlier this week, Regent’s Park College has issued a “trans inclusion statement” that threatens students who persistently misgender their trans peers with expulsion. The Telegraph has more.

Students at the University of Oxford could be expelled for misgendering their peers under a college’s new transgender harassment policy.

Regent’s Park College – once called home by the goddaughter of the late Diana, Princess of Wales – has launched a campaign against transphobia with a “trans inclusion statement”.

The new policy says that “unlawful discriminatory behaviour, including transphobic harassment or bullying… will be regarded extremely seriously and could be grounds for disciplinary action”.

The statement lists examples of harassment, including “consistently using incorrect titles, pronouns or names to refer to a trans person (‘deadnaming’) especially where this causes distress”.

The college’s students are also banned from “unduly intrusive or personal questioning”, “making jokes about trans people or their trans status” and “denying or disputing the validity and/or existence of a trans person’s identity”.

Students found to have broken the policy may face “expulsion or dismissal”, the statement continued.

Regent’s Park College is thought to be the first college to recognise gender identity as a protected characteristic by implementing a specific policy about it.

The college said it believes “gender reassignment” is not an “exclusively medical” term and also has “personal” dimensions.

Its statement said: “Individuals perceived as having the protected characteristic of gender reassignment (even incorrectly) are still afforded its protections.”

Worth reading in full.

If any students at Regent’s Park find themselves under investigation for ‘misgendering’ someone, i.e., using the gender pronouns that correspond to their biological sex, please do get in touch with the Free Speech Union. You can email our case team at help@freespeechunion.org.

Stop Press: Tom Slater has written an article in the Spectator explaining why this new policy is so sinister.

Get in FSU for taking up this fight! It’s bloody insane and an absolute insult to all intelligent folk the world over. This messing with kids minds has to stop. Talking of delusion and insanity that people need to stamp out, would anybody misgender this person? He identifies as a lesbian after all, but he has a husband so it gets a bit confusing..

A masterstroke of population control. Nothing screams sterile like men and women pretending not to be and everyone else becoming suspicious of who to date for fear of a nasty surprise or a social media pile-on for not taking a walk on the rainbow side.

Amusingly, the US government has identified the clown logo as a symbol of the ‘far right!’ 😀

The current model for further education, research and academia having become irreparably toxic and dysfunctional appears to have run its course. We need to find a new way to foster institutional and societal learning. Universities are no longer it.

When one of the most prestigious educational institutions in the world feels the need to join in and validate someone else’s personal choices, no matter how absurd or contrary to reality, that society is truly lost.

The main criteria here seems to be “distress”. How about the distress caused to those of us who live in the real world and believe that accepting it, blemishes and all, is the best way to live? That indulging the fantasies or mental problems of individuals is not only not helping them, but is almost certainly going to harm them? That these childish indulgences and focusing a lot of public effort and money on a small percentage of people with mental health issues puts us at a disadvantage when it comes to countries that think otherwise?

As the craziness spreads, my original view remains – this sinister agenda is being pushed by an outside power seeking (and succeeding) to have Western society implode from within.

If you’d like to see a plan for Western society imploding from within, have a look for the “National Destabilisation Plan of KGB/GRU” as presented in the document “The European Collective”. Remember though, it’s just another conspiracy theory not being implemented by any persons-of-such-a-mindset and just happens to be curiously similar to reality.

No doubt a lot of students who make complaints will be doing so on behalf of others whose “distress and hurt” they recognise and share. Meanwhile female students who may be survivors of physical or sexual abuse and are genuinely distressed by the presence of someone with male genitalia in female only toilets or changing rooms risk being expelled if they say anything.

Compelled speech is the subject that brought Jordan Peterson attention initially.
It is wrong and can be fought.

Meanwhile Anheuser-Busch has had $27 billion (and still dropping) wiped off its market value and Target has had its shares downgraded. People of all ages are complaining about the trans nonsense, which is forced on businesses by the large investment banks – BlackRock, Vanguard and State Street, in particular. We always lag behind America in the cultural issues timeline. The fightback has got going in the USA at last. Hopefully it will get here soon.

“Trans women are real women”..
I think that sums up the level of their delusion rarther well..

I’m seriously losing the will to live in this most surreal and bizarre modern world…

Trans women, pre-op, are real men in dresses…
Trans women, post-op, are castrated men in dresses.
Any other interpretation is mere delusion.

I’m truly glad that I’m old and won’t have to put up with all this nonsense for much longer!

Must be quite a useless place if they can’t name any decent graduates.

This college obviously doesn’t offer courses in biology. As it specialises in the “Arts and Humanities” this is exactly the sort of dross to be expected

Different opinions not wanted there?

Only one ‘truth’?

There you get indoctrination instead of an education?
