World Health Organisation Declares Covid “No Longer a Global Emergency” – But it’s Still a “Pandemic”
Covid is no longer a global emergency, according to leaders at the World Health Organisation (WHO). What, really? Keep up, guys. Oh, but it is still a “pandemic”. Seriously, let it go. The Mail has the story.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the UN health agency, said Friday: “It’s with great hope that I declare Covid over as a global health emergency.”
However, he stopped short of declaring the pandemic over, warning that the virus still posed a threat in developing countries that have not had access to vaccines.
It comes as the final pandemic restrictions in the U.S. are set to end Thursday months after President Joe Biden declared the pandemic “over” for America.
The pandemic, which triggered once-unthinkable lockdowns, upended the global economy, and killed at least seven million people across the world.
At the briefing Friday, Dr Tedros said the pandemic is likely responsible for around 20 million deaths — due to reporting issues and testing inconsistencies.
“It isn’t a snap decision. It’s something we came up with over time,” Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove, an American infectious disease specialist at the WHO, said in response to a question about why the agency made this decision so late.
Professor Didier Houssin, a WHO member from France, said the agency first considered lifting the emergency in January.
However, a massive Covid surge in China around the new year that triggered fears of a new strain with traits that had never been seen before made them reconsider.
The health agency first declared Covid an international crisis on January 30th 2020. At that point, no major outbreaks had been recorded outside of China.
However, the WHO leaders now say it is time for countries to treat Covid as they do other infectious diseases.

I used to post this chart way back when the covid thing was going. I’m posting again to remind people there was never a pandemic.. ever. It was an unadulterated lie.. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Tedros..

I wouldn’t agree entirely that it was a lie. There was certainly a pandemic, but only by the WHO’s new definition of pandemic. As the BMJ’s graph clearly shows, it bucked the downward trend since 2008, but since every year prior to that was worse, this hardly constitutes a genuine “emergency”, warranting the type of dramatic mitigation measures that we saw. Furthermore, we witnessed those measures being visited upon everybody, even though, as “George L” points out, the fact we have an ageing population makes it unequivocally true that it was a spike in deaths of the elderly.
Are they declaring the scamdemic over because they realise that the Covid jab gravy train has almost slowed to a halt due to people no longer feeling scared enough to rock up for more boosters with bovine-like obedience? Don’t be daft, they’re just moving on to other respiratory viruses to try and justify prolonging their poisoning of the world’s population with the gene therapies. Not sure they’ll be ”scaring the pants off” us a second time round though; ”Some might be tempted to drop the vaccine injury epidemic from the panoply of issues we have to monitor. After all, there is no lack of existential threats to our life, liberty, and property emanating from government. Now that Biden is finally ending the remaining COVID mandates, we might think we can continue our focus on other issues, as if the past three years never occurred. My take is that it’s only gone partway towards the depopulation & control agenda, they need to implement the next part. The closure of farms in the Netherlands – salad bowl of Europe – will cause problems with supply of fresh, high quality food. Solution will be processed unhealthy pap or starve. WHO appears to be behaving in a manner that exceeds it’s role in life. I know that English is a flexible language, but they are up to the trick of redefining things, rather than inventing new words and so on. There is no such thing as a permanent “emergency”, for example. As to Covid (without the -19 addition) it self evidently continues to be “pandemic”. It’s a branch of what used to be called “common colds”, after all.
It is posing such a threat in developing nations such as South Africa, where no more than 7% of the population has had a booster, that deaths have been negligible for over a year.
No figures on “cases” are being released as the number of people being tested is minuscule.
