Tide Turning? CNN Host Blasts Teachers Union Leader For Pushing Pandemic School Closures
Randi Weingarten, one of the most powerful teachers union bosses in the U.S., was admonished Thursday on CNN for supporting school lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic. Fox News has more.
CNN Senior Political Commentator Scott Jennings told off Weingarten in a conversation on school lockdowns and America’s Covid response.
“Speaking on behalf of millions of American parents,” Jennings said as he began what would be a lengthy rebuke of Weingarten’s pro-lockdown rhetoric.
“I had to teach them at home,” he added, referring to his four children. “My wife had to teach them at home. I am stunned at what you have said this week about your claiming to have wanted to reopen schools,” Jennings said, speaking directly to Weingarten…
“I think you’ll find that most parents believe you are the tip of the spear of school closures,” he said. “There are numerous statements you made over the summer of ’20 scaring people to death about the possibility of opening schools. And I hear no remorse whatsoever about the generational damage that’s been done to these kids.”
Jennings explained that two of his children need extra help in the classroom, and so were especially affected by Weingarten’s policies.
“I have two kids with learning differences. Do you know how hard it is for them to learn at home and not in a classroom that was designed for them? And for you to sit in front of Congress and the American people and say, oh, ‘I wanted to open up them the whole time’, I am shocked. I’m stunned. I’m stunned,” Jennings said again.
“And there are millions of parents who feel the exact same way,” he added.
Mainstream U.S. news channels taking union leaders to task over pandemic closures – is this a sign of the tide turning? Let’s hope so.

Scott Jennings is trying to fill Tucker Carlson’s space! He should watch out!
He also needs to start asking more basic questions, such as,
“Was it really a pandemic?”
“Are they really vaccines?”
We are now firmly in the realm of the pseudo-vaccine, it would appear. These Covid ones did nothing beneficial and if anyone wishes to say they saved lives then I’ll be over here waiting for the proof. ”In order to qualify for approval as a “vaccine,” a pharmaceutical injection does not have to actually prevent infection with or transmission of any disease, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) publicly revealed this week.Peter Marks, a top FDA official, issued a statement explaining that the “FDA’s authorization and licensure standards for vaccines do not require demonstration or the prevention of infection or transmission.” In other words, a vaccine does not have to actually do anything to gain FDA approval. All that apparently has to happen is for a drug company with deep pockets to pay the agency enough money to buy that rubber stamp approval, unlocking an endless stream of profits. Traditionally speaking, an FDA-approved vaccine had to at least purport to prevent infection with or transmission of a disease. The whole point of a vaccine was to fight disease, we were long told. Then came the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) and its associated “vaccines” and everything changed. Now, a vaccine can be just about anything,… Read more »
Brilliant. Thanks Mogs.
Look at this though. Absolutely sick-inducing. Because it’s classed as a “vaccine” don’t you know? 🤦♀️

“Vaccine Industry Excellence Awards.”
FFS! That is beyond Sick.
Holy moly! The self righteous A holes!🤮🤮🤮
The use of an unprecedented propaganda campaign seems to indicate that the pandemic would have gone unnoticed without it thereby making the answer to “Get injected, it’s your patriotic duty” a simple “Why?”.
I’m not sure I know what “the tide turning” means any more. Which tide?
It’s pretty clear to me that lockdowns are generally loathed, demonised and broadly considered a mistake. Which is not to say there aren’t a minority of zealots still defending them, but they’re isolated.
Put it this way, I don’t know anyone who is willing to put up with another lockdown.
And yet I have a horrible feeling that if another one was announced, enough people would obey for it to be effective. It’s going to take the police and armed forces refusing to co-operate now the precedent has been set.
Enough people would disobey that it would be impossible to enforce.
Whilst I would absolutely love you to be right, I think that when it came to stick and lift, very few would be prepared to step up and refuse an official
order.
Many people I know were very happy to sit at home on full pay or 80% ‘furlough’.
Remember Solzhenitsyn’s observation that a small group of neighbours with hammers and kichen knives could have prevented people being dragged off to the gulag?
Never happened.
“Many people I know were very happy to sit at home on full pay or 80% ‘furlough’.”
my mum used to call it mornge-ing about!(not quite sure how it’s spelt but it sounded perfect)
People will go along with all kinds of stuff, it their personal sacrifice is small and it sounds like it is important for them to ‘do their bit’.
The further down the big plan we go, people are beginning to appreciate that their personal sacrifice might not be small, but may encompass things they truly value, and the justification is worth more scrutiny. The tipping point is when it suddenly switches from ‘we’re doing good for everyone at minimal cost to me’, to ‘Shove that. Its stupid. You can do it, but I’m not’.
From heat pumps and electric cars for saving polar bears, to eradicating beef and travel so you can have a impoverished existence, this is escalating very quickly. People are noticing, and The Great Awakening is underway…
Many know it, not many saying it out loud
The so-called “tide” is not really turning. It’s just a parent expressing his experience and opinion related to personal experience in his family; but that will be squashed and not progressed. The political power of the teacher’s union in USA is immense. Until members of that union change their tune, there is no tide to change.
Testing enabled them to go back to school? When will they ever learn?
Of course, if the Conservative party was in power, they would be challenging the teachers and their anti-education agenda right now.
Oh! Hang on….
But parents are the best teachers of their kids. State teaching is indoctrination of government propaganda. Keep all the schools closed, lets Mums teach their kids and the Dads go to work. When the kids hit 12 then they can work with their parents. This is the best education as it has been for most of human history.
