Oxford College Cancels St George’s Day Banquet to Make Way for Muslim Eid Dinner on April 23rd

An Oxford college has been accused of ā€œcancellingā€ St George’s Day in a row over an Eid formal dinner being held in place of the usual banquet in honour of England’s patron saint on April 23rd. The Telegraph has the story.Ā

Magdalen College held an annual banquet to commemorate England’s legendary patron saint before the pandemic, with dons, fellows and students enjoying a traditional feast among its spires.

But this year, the college will host a formal dinner for Eid, the Islamic festival marking the end of Ramadan, on St George’s Day and no other formal meals or dinners to mark England’s patron saint will take place.

The move has sparked an unholy row, with dons hitting out atĀ Magdalen’s President Dinah Rose KC [pictured]Ā for the “barking mad” decision to miss the occasion.

In an email, sent to hundreds of lecturers and students and seen by the Telegraph, Prof Nick Stargardt, the college’s Vice-President, invited guests to ā€œcelebrate Eid with a festive dinner in the Hallā€ adding that ā€œthe meal will follow Muslim customs: the meat dish will be halal and no alcohol will be servedā€.

It is taking place on April 23rd despite Eid falling two days earlier on April 21st, on which the college is hosting a separate vegetarian dinner, alongside other midweek dinners.

While the college claims it does not have a St George’s Day tradition, the Telegraph has seen records which show the college hosted dinnersĀ dedicated solely to St George’s DayĀ in each of the four years prior to the pandemic, from 2016 to 2019.

In 2018, for example, the former college vice-president invited lecturers to ā€œcelebrate St George’s Dayā€ with ā€œa formal hall and high table at 7.30pm with a special English menuā€ accompanied by ā€œGrace and English Music by the Clerks followed by an orationā€.

One don at Magdalen College, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Telegraph: ā€œThe cancelling of St George’s Day is yet another example of the deep antipathy that the leaders of so many of Britain’s academic institutions seem to feel towards the country that built and maintains them.ā€

Another Oxford don described the move as ā€œbarking madā€, pointing out that the president Ms Ross has a history of Left-wing comments on her Twitter account, such as attacking the Government’s criticism of human rights migration lawyers and saying she was ā€œproudā€ to fly the trans flag over the college.

They are perfectly happy being here because their mission in life is to destroy “here” and replace it with something else. I do not think they wish to change “here” because they don’t like “here” but in order to exercise power. There’s no rational reason for someone like the person in question to be unhappy in the UK – this is not an oppressed person who is very poor, with no prospects. As with most social justice fanatics, they are comfortably off people who have benefited from this country enormously. Their reasons for wanting change are much more sinister and unpleasant.

Here’s a nice conspiracy theory: All these essentially communist left whingers are desparately seeking to become friends with whom they judge to be the most powerful organised force in the country in the not too distant future.

Could be. I think they are making a huge mistake, if so, and are in for a nasty shock when they find themselves surplus to requirements. Life in a horrid right wing democracy will seem like paradise in comparison.

People should stop whinging about it and take action. What idiots elect a wet-lefty as your vice-president and then complain that they act exactly like a wet-lefty? What did they think they where getting!

A curious mixture of Sharia (Islamist money) and wokism rule our once great universities.
How can these combine when they apparently oppose each other?
Both are under the spirit of antichrist which seeks to replace the Christian ethos upon which they were founded.

It’s not “barking mad” at all. It’s part of a widespread process whereby people in positions of power intend to destroy what little is left of European, Western Christian civilisation. It’s war.

I can see why people feel disillusioned with Christianity and choose Islam instead. People have said to me that they converted to Islam because they wanted a religious life but the churches are all disappearing. It is a sad development but it is just a temporary disruption. The entry of the Christ energy into the world is the very force that has brought all of the current crises to this point of apocalypse. This energy didn’t just affect people in the near east it pervaded every soul on the planet. It is a subtle addition to what we were before but if you knew the path that we we heading down before the mystery of Golgotha then you would understand the addition. The moment the lights are switched on. It is ineffable and its energy can be found in heat and warmth. Do not see the sun as a big gaseuous fusion reactor 93 million miles away. The sun is a pinprick and a window into a higher realm and the Christ is the power behind this hidden reality.

If our whole cosmology is wrong and the framework that we use is wrong how truly free are we? I ask this question now because this really is the time when sincerity will be laid bare.

People and animals weren’t sacrificed out of ignorance and barbarity they were sacrificed because it worked, especially with humans. The older spirits fed on human death, It stopped working a while back.this is not the way. Our way is Philadelphia or the realm of brotherly love. That is the next stage of our development.

The system that is in place will require the united efforts of Islam and Christiany to defeat ir. In terns of numbers there is simply no other way. This could be4 an opportunity to assert a value system based on the best things in life. In terms of power relations this is the only way out. And we don’t have years or even months left. Either you’re up for the squabble or you aren’t.

Fully paid up Christians often don’t do anything for two reasons – firstly they are usually old and secondly many believe it is all part of god’s plan. Muslims on the other hand will not act against the new world order – their primary concern is and has been for 1500 years the jihad against unbelievers. In fairness this probably does include the new world order bots, but they are yet to codify and invent new hadiths to give it the green light.

Don’t think you can leave it to the Muslims if you’re a Christian. God doesn’t just dislike shallowness and fear he hates it. You can read that in every scripture in the world. If you are ever acting out of fear then you are moving away from God.

Excellent choice for the featured image of this post. She does look smug or self-satisfied.

It is just nonsense if you knew the high regard of Islam towards Christianity. Miriam is viewed as the highest woman in some countries like Iran and is one of the most popular female names. If you undersstand the spiritual relationship of these religions then it might help you understand the geopolitical situation.

Wow! The approach of Muslims worldwide to Christians amounts to genocide. As for churches disappearing, yes, so start one.

Still the same old same old – appeasing Islam. The irony of this is that Islamists take this as weakness and despise us all the more.

People may not know, but Premiership evening football matches now have a break midway through both halves to allow Muslim players to break their fast. I kid you not.
