Good morning fellow travellers through the Valley of the Shadow of Death! What delightful news as our unchosen, unmandated Prime Minister Fishy ‘Business’ Sunak decides to choose lunacy over common sense once more. This merry-go-round is increasingly not merry at all. What do we have to do now? Oh yes, repay all those countries that we apparently ruined through Empire and give up any idea that we are going to commit to our own resources of oil and gas. Nope, we’re going back to the Stone Age, folks….yabbadabbadoo!!…as Fred Flintstone would say. When you look into the real science of the climate, you find absolutely nothing that warrants the wholesale destruction of our civilisation. Nothing. We can be 100% sure by now that this is part of the Great Reset. They want you begging for morsels of food, little heating, no homes or businesses of your own. In times gone past people would have risen in their millions if someone had said we’re going to destroy your lives – and maybe not too – and I feel that time is now upon us. We have no choice but to act. I’m ready. I’ve had enough of this. Let it carry… Read more »

“Bright green: the case for eco-optimism”  In my view, Fraser Nelson is part of the problem we face. It’s the lack of genuine passion and fervour in his articles and his attempt to turn what is gross and criminal into something that is just another reasonable discussion point. Has he done any real background research into the subject of Net Zero to find out that it is just a ton of lies heaped upon untruths heaped upon misinformation. Why doesn’t he discuss the actual effects of what Net Zero proposes? The effects to our normal lives that is..i.e.ruined? Why make it all seem so reasonable and a fait accompli already? Although I don’t read/listen/watch mainstream media and don’t even have a telly, I do get sight of what various commentators are saying on it. To me, they all sound like Fraser Nelson – trying not to sound too —oooh conspiratorial, because that would damage their cred and probably send their advertisers and editors into dizzy fainting fits and red-faced outrage. Can’t say that, we must remain reasonable and logical until we’re all carless, homeless, eating insect burgers and shivering and then it’ll be ‘life has never been better!’ and ‘hurrah,… Read more »

“There is no long-term prosperity without action on climate change.

There is no energy security without investing in renewables.

That is why I will attend @COP27P next week: to deliver on Glasgow’s legacy of building a secure and sustainable future.
— Rishi Sunak (@RishiSunak) November 2, 2022

Let’s pick that apart, shall we, Fishy? There is no long term prosperity without action on climate change. Mmm. How long? Whose prosperity? Must we head back into poverty before we reap the rewards? How can someone say these empty and meaningless words and expect others to take them seriously and believe them? I could have come up with that. How about “We are all in this together, me in my mansion and ability to travel anywhere by jet on a whim, and you in your hovels, eating rotten cabbages and burning old solar panels to keep warm, it will be painful in the short-term but we shall persevere.” I’d rewrite this one as: “There is no long-term prosperity.”

The next one is easier: “There is no energy security in renewables.” We know that, they know that and they know that we know that but they’ll say it anyway.

Apparently Ricky Wilson was the worse for wear during a gig at the weekend. It wouldn’t the first time he has spouted nonsense during a performance.

To any fans who felt short-changed afterwards, I say good.
