The Fall of Saint Jacinda is a Cautionary Tale
Camilla Tominey has written an excellent squib for the Telegraph about the political misfortunes of Jacinda Arden and how her difficulties may be a warning to other would-be woke Western leaders. In particular, her decision to turn New Zealand into a prison island, seemingly in pursuit of a ‘Zero Covid’ policy, has been economically castrophic.
At one point it seemed as if Jacinda Adern was able to walk on water as New Zealand’s “progressive” young Prime Minister.
The former president of the International Union of Socialist Youth turned Labour leader was a poster girl for the woke movement, winning plaudits for everything from her benefit hikes to her attempt to legalise cannabis.
The Atlantic gushingly described her as “the most effective leader on the planet” while the Financial Times breathlessly proclaimed: “Arise, Saint Jacinda!”
Then the pandemic happened. By behaving like SAGE on steroids and closing the country down for months on end, Adern may have saved lives but killed the island nation’s economy.
Now her chances of re-election are looking decidedly uncertain, with new polling showing increased support for a right leaning coalition.
The National party are now ahead at 37% to Labour’s 33%. If National joined forces with its traditional partner, the libertarian-right Act Party on 11%, the two would have enough seats to form a Government.

I might consider visiting New Zealand if they put her in a cage, 24/7/365, hanging above Queen’s Wharf in Auckland. I’d happily throw her a morsel or two.
I am happy to put my name to the statement that I think she is awful and I hope the Kiwis give her a taste of her own medicine.
Oh and the same for all the other nasties who pushed all this arbitrary, unnecessary and disproportionate horror. I wouldn’t want anyone to think that I don’t believe the rest of our “elected parliamentarians” deserve exactly the same treatment.
It may be that she has lost her reputation. Looking back a few years to March 2019, she had a good press globally on account of the reaction to the mass shooting affair in Christchurch. What she, and her fellow travellers did is virtually impossible in the USA, of course. There are still plenty of stories online if you search for “New Zealand gun shooting”. Thus it might have had an effect of her self-belief re the policy being pursued.
The “Press” might have been impressed by her virtue signalling performance at the time of the “mass shooting afair” ( as you describe it).
Sure, wokesters thought and still think she’s like a little pink fairy on a fluffy unicorn. Rational people? Not so sure.
Let’s address the elephant in the room. Saint Jacinda became saintly because the Saint is female. That is what drove MSM, in particular the vile left-wing types of the BBC and the Grandian, to fawn over her – a delicious wet dream for these people. As we all know, and were told constantly of course, women make better leaders because they’re more compassionate and caring. Yeah, right.
You must be one of those male chauvinist pigs.
😜
And Poor Innocent Jacinda mistook their fawning for well-earned respect. She fell for it, and thought she was amazing.
But she probably still thinks she’s amazing, so I don’t feel sorry for her one ounce. She was probably one of those perfect school prefects who was never, ever told she might be wrong.
Once arderne’s put out to pasture, let’s hope the same happens to trudeau. Let’s dismantle Schwab’s army of daleks one-by-one.
“Adern may have saved lives but …”
Umm huh?
Please do look at the present death figures coming out of NZ Camilla.
I wonder who the WEF Global Leader is that will lead the “right-wing” coalition once Adern is out.
Indeed. Who will the WEF install in her place to continue the destruction of New Zealand?
Will the ‘horse’ be condemned to the knacker’s yard or found a cushy paddock for her retirement?
She will end up in charge of some woke nonsense on a UN payroll like Susan Michie running the WHO behavioural Science unit.
“her difficulties may be a warning to other would-be woke Western leaders”
I think this is largely wishful thinking. Probably she went too far, but can anyone name an actually conservative leader/government of a rich liberal democracy?
Ron DeSantis? Oh wait, he doesn’t count does he? Now if Ted Cruz gets in…
Let’s not forget how much the women in the supposedly right wing Telegraph loved her. The Mrs Obama loving Alison Pearson comes to mind.
It’s all about control.

The Telegraph is a liberal paper (perhaps slightly less so since they took over the Morning Post).
Come to think of it, the Conservative Party are a liberal party.
How bent is the New Zealand electoral system?
Somewhere between Maricopa County, Arizona and Tower Hamlets is my guess.
Which means Ardern could very well be “duly elected” once more.
Much like Turdeau and Micron then. Because that’s exactly what I’m thinking. It doesn’t take a genius, just some common sense will suffice, to work out that, given the extensive and abject misery these leaders have put their citizens through, the damaging effects of the general abuse of constitutional rights and freedoms, that if the “majority” keep these wicked cnuts in power still then it is all one massive sham and rigged to the rafters. No way on earth would keeping these dictators as your leader be a true reflection of public opinion and a show of democracy at work. If the last 2.5 years has revealed nothing its the sheer extent of the far-reaching corruption in politics and those behind the scenes pulling the strings. I mean President Brandon FFS?!! Case in point. Are we really a Western population with the attitude of, “Yes I would like to keep this leader who has decimated our economy, trampled over my rights and freedoms, forced me to take a jab I didn’t want or need in order to still go to work or leave the country, screw up my family’s mental and physical health and my kids’ education and development and… Read more »
Yes, refusal to follow their insane diktats is the way forward. Complying with the next round of insanity will be like sounding our own death knell.
Are you pinching my notes Mogs?
I wonder, can anyone name a country where there has been genuinely democratic one person one vote?
You mean the lands of ‘vote early, vote often’..?
Wasn’t there someone in Tower Hamlets quoted as saying “we haven’t been told how we’re voting yet”?

It doesn’t matter whether she’s re-elected, or someone else is.
NZ is fully signed up to the UN’s Agenda 2030 and the WEF’s Great Reset so (unless they vote against the Establishment Parties) all they will get is another puppet.

On a positive note it was good to see Shergar’s teeth put to good use.
Poor Shergar.
He deserves better than that!
The Canadians had an opportunity to get rid of an equally dictatorial and unpleasant WEF puppet -Trudeau, but voted him in again.
It wouldn’t be surprising if the New Zealanders did the same. If they grasped the truth about the bloody vaccines, that they are not “safe and effective”, it should finish her off.
