It’s a foreign invasion. Send the Army in with orders to “fire at will.” Shoot the firkers.

I wonder how these people suddenly appear, complete with hazmat suits and gas masks and smoke bombs etc. I mean that takes organisation, money etc. Meanwhile the police just ‘look on’… Mmm

…and of course because it follows the ‘green narrative’ it gets loads of publicity…whereas protests in the Netherlands, or anywhere in the world for that matter … get diddly squat!

Some of the Dutch protesters did have a couple of bullets fired their way.

Who’s backing who? Mordaunt takes second

Judging by the amount of backtracking done by the candidates on a varied set of positions, there is a lot of ‘realignment’ yet to be done.

It might be nice to see someone being challenged on their position, and countering it with a reasoned and balanced argument as to why they hold that view, rather than ‘Ah. Yes. What I meant by that was…’. It just bolsters my theory that none of them value and believe in anything other than getting themselves elected.

They’re just focusing on the task at hand, and demonstrating that they have a flexible attitude to the truth.

Mr Young got the Kemi Badenoch bandwagon rolling on here and her interview in the papers yesterday would suggest that he is correct in his informed assessment.

Her crusade to reduce the size of government represents a brave attempt to slice through the Gordian knot of bureaucracy that is stifling this country in so many different ways.

And that reduction can be achieved by the simple expedient of returning huge swathes of legislation, regulation, to exactly where it was in 1990.

BBC website reminds us what a hot day can do the body:

‘Symptoms include:

  • dizziness

nausea

  • fainting
  • confusion
  • muscle cramps
  • headaches
  • heavy sweating
  • tiredness

And, [the killer punch if we’re not worried enough] If blood pressure drops too far, the risk of heart attacks rises.’

Cue scary videos on News at Ten of dying from one or more of this lot?

Cue ‘How worried should we be?’ headlines?

We’re all advised to look out for the elderly. I think the elderly know how to cope with a hot day.

Someone pointed out to Julia that there were ‘excess deaths’ in the last heatwave. Well YES – people in their 90s will be felled by very cold weather, very hot weather, by colds, by flu, by anything that piles on top of their already-weak bodies. They’re often suffering from a multiplicity of underlying conditions, not to mention the cocktails of drugs they’re taking! Yes they may die because….dying is what people in their late 80s and 90s DO!!

It would be interesting to see what the excess deaths were in
a) the winter of 1962/63
b) the summer of 1976
c) the winter of 2017/2018

Next they’ll be saying to take care of windy days in autumn when apples might fall off trees and cause a heart attack…

Sunshine = heart attacks
Rain = heart attacks
Climate change = heart attacks
Breathing…look out! = heart attacks
Ad infinitum…

But if you have plenty of water, and douse yourself in cold water periodically, things will be much better. Of course, if you work in an office, you won’t need to worry about getting hot…

Morning all!
No matter what else happens today, I’m going to bask in the lovely fact that Wimbledon produced a principled anti-vax’ hero winner in Djokovic, and a lovely (to all intents and purposes) Russian ladies winner…a slap in the face for the absurd racism promulgated by nutters..

Imagine sleeping the wrong way, making the bed in the morning, having a cup of tea before going outside to do some gardening.

How the hell are half the population still alive after all that?

Thankfully, it’s at least not The Vaccines causing them. Or maybe, they’d be much worse without them.

Long Covid is guaranteed (and *very* serious) according to this guy. If you count being alive as one of the symptoms then I guess it’s reasonable:

This graph is a draft for a Long Covid paper I’m working on. The paper will be a while, but I think it’s important that people – and policy makers – understand the implications now.

It is *very* serious.

https://www.travelandtourworld.com/news/article/covid-19-outbreak-on-coral-princess-among-crew-and-passengers/
Monday, July 11, 2022

Queensland authorities say a COVID-19 outbreak on a cruise ship was expected, as the state nears 41,000 active cases.
The outbreak of about 100 people among the crew and some passengers on the Coral Princess in Brisbane on Sunday led to Princess Cruises offering refunds…

….and yes they all, crew and passengers, have to be ‘up to date’ with vaccines and boosters…….LOL!

Marvellous news.

It seems to me that what is passing as science for some these days is describing things that aren’t particularly out of the ordinary and putting a “worrying” label on it.

It always makes me think of the old “Whose line is it anyway” sketches where they’re given a random prop like a simple paper cup and told to come up with innovative ways to sell it.

This cup is round meaning you have an infinite number of entry points for your mouth.

Worrying…

There are reports of major runs on Chinese banks, i.e. lots of people trying to get their money out.

And all I can think of is Julie Andrews selling birdseed asking for tuppence a bag.

Gordon Brown should’ve watched that film too.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the CCP might just struggle to meet their 2049 goals…

I note that the number of daily posts seem to be up recently – someone doing something right?
