Ref the tragic death of Robyn (second story) the NHS Trust’s representative was tearful, apparently. Her department screwed up and cost a young girl’s life, and she cries to her PARENTS.

CAMHS was pretty much a mess everywhere pre 2020. Adult mental health services are not much better and is a postcode lottery. Leicestershire is bad for both CAMHS and adult services.
If anyone says they are hearing voices, self harming and expressing suicidal ideation then to my mind that is a red flag, and had this poor girl presented in my old urgent care centre and I’d seen her then I’d have been very concerned even without any mental health nursing training, there’s no excuse.

The poor girl was faced by a procession of people not doing their jobs. You’re right, there is no excuse.

…not to undermine this story, because it’s a tragedy that should never have happened…but Tony Benn nailed it over 25 years ago..and it’s just got worse… I expect that the House has heard of the little document, which is circulating, about the boat race between the NHS and a Japanese crew. Both sides tried hard to do well, but the Japanese won by a mile. The NHS was very discouraged and set up a consultancy. The consultancy came to the conclusion that the Japanese had eight people rowing and one steering, whereas the NHS had eight people steering and one rowing. The NHS appointed people to look at the problem and decided to reorganise the structure of the team so that there were three steering managers, three assistant steering managers and a director of steering services, and an incentive was offered to the rower to row harder. When the NHS lost a second race, it laid off the rower for poor performance and sold the boat. It gave the money it got from selling the boat to provide higher than average pay awards for the director of steering services. That is what is happening all over the place. There is… Read more »

“Ben & Jerry’s forced to end Israel boycott”  I am ambivalent about Israel. I work in computers and I have known quite a few Israelis who invariably were the nicest, kindest people. I appreciate the fact that Israel has been the loyalest of allies to the US. Israel aside, half my friends are Jews. But Israel has been involved in crazy stuff. Attacking the USS Liberty because it was monitoring atrocities that were being committed in a refugee camp. Supporting the South African apartheid regime and selling weapons to crazier people than even the US sells to. And running this interminable open air prison in Gaza. Certainly there are worse Palestinians, but there are a lot of just plain victims too, The Israelis appear to be a broken people with little compassion left. Certainly being broken is not their fault, but I think they are far from healing. Furthermore, I think calling everybody who is concerned about Israei actions an antisemite is ridiculous, and it degrades the word. At the same time there are plenty of real antisemites with totally delusional reasons for hating Jews. I don’t think hate is the correct response to Israel losing its way. But neither… Read more »

Twenty five years ago, I worked on a defence project for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan who were petrified of Israel. They had a Palestinian refugee enclave that had been there for decades. I was on one of the first flights to Amman that flew over Jerusalem rather than having to be routed round Israeli air space. There is no easy solution to the problems in the Middle East that have their roots that are centuries deep.

Girl, 14, killed herself after being ‘denied face-to-face appointments’ during lockdown” – Does socialized medicine leave people with learned helplessness? Why didn’t the parents go to private options when they saw the NHS was failing? They sound well off enough.

Harsh, but a fair question. Maybe they didn’t imagine the end game of what they were seeing would happen.

We have been trained to think the NHS is the best and our only option. I’m always surprised by how few people are prepared to seek out private alternatives when faced with NHS failings. It seems most people don’t want to tackle complex medical issues – and confront reality – until it’s too late. They have yet to find the confidence to accept that the NHS is broken let alone speak out about it and/or take any action.

I’ve given up on the NHS. As regards dental care I had no choice anyway, but I now pay for any medical services I need. I know I am very fortunate that I am able to do that. I mean, how terrible is it to have a so called health service that is so abysmal, people are driven to pull their own teeth with pliers?

Electricity Rationing: The Shameful Hallmark of Britain’s Green Energy Failure”

This is right on the borderline of fanaticism and fantasy. For many people Climate Change is real, they want to save the planet, and will tolerate, even encourage draconianism like turning the power off. The rest of us can’t understand how they can be so foolish and swept up by something clearly not true, never mind the rubbish solutions put forward like electric cars and heat pumps. They just show a complete lack of thinking through by adults. Yet, this is the indoctrination that all our young people are getting.

Tucker Carlson did an excellent long piece on Monday, I think, about what is happening in America and why. Its on Fox News Youtube.

Sajid Javid’s digital NHS revolution could make it harder ‘for millions’ to see a doctor in person, critics warn amid plan to do video consults from mobile app

I think we can all see some advantages in using video consults for some things. A chat about a treatment plan, a review of medications and so forth. No real reason to drag yourself to the surgery for those. However, I think we all know that as soon as they can do this, then you will end up having to go through a three level triage before you get anywhere near the GP. First, a practice nurse, telling you ‘there there, its probably nothing serious, take paracetamol/cortisone cream/anti-histamines for a week and call us if no improvement in 2 weeks. They will use any excuse not to see or deal with a patient first hand.

You missed the bit about how their online systems will record every stage of the triage as if it was a genuine interaction with a medical professional, so the statistics will appear to show that “GPs” are busier than ever!

It’s the digital ID abilities hidden within this app that are the dangerous part. going along with this for ‘convenience’ means that you will be trapped in the digital control grid. We have to resist everything. None of this is for our ‘convenience’ or benefit.
Always as ask Cui bono?

It’s de-humanising everyone…you are a number, not a person, it doesn’t register with them if you aren’t treated properly or die…you aren’t real, you are ‘virtual’…
Compassion? Care?…words no longer in their lexicon.
It follows the WEF tranhumanist agenda..you can be programmed, chipped, vaxxed, all at a distance……and won’t have to be treated like a human being anymore.

Never Again? Israel’s mask mob echo the Holocaust

He added: ‘If dissident voices stop speaking out, then the process that happened in the Soviet Union around 1930 and in Germany around 1935 will typically start to happen [again]. Once the dissident voices, the opposition, stop speaking out within the public space, within a period of six months to one year, the cruelty starts.’

https://www.thecollegefix.com/cornell-library-removes-gettysburg-address-lincoln-bust/
It appears that both the Lincoln bust and the words of the address have been removed.
This does seem ominously symbolic as under the guise of covid/climate/gender, we see freedoms trodden underfoot and an increasingly authoritarian if not to say Fascist approach being taken and thus these words have been removed;
”and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

Morning Steve , you have been on DS for as long as me , it seems the Worldly insanity is building & i think i am beginning to wilt under the weight of it all ! Will there be a positive gain for us to grab hold of . The phoney leaders at G7 posing for photos with trudope throwing his arms round fellow tratorious morons in the group as if he’s on a lads weekend away coupled with the relentless gender bull has done me in ! I could go on ….. 😳😬

Yes Freddy, because the vast majority of us know it’s boll**ks!
The only way I see through it is to live your life, love your family and friends, and don’t do a single thing they tell you…ever. Just keep being a thorn in their side. There are way more of us than them, and yes I know they have or seem to have the power, but they don’t ultimately…..

Keep speaking up, no matter how tired & weary you are. That is what is being counted upon so that the resistance just withers away.
It’s hard. If you need time to regroup, heal the battle scars – take a bit of time out. Never stop resisting, even if it’s passive like not accepting the toxin injection, using cash etc.
We who have seen through all the BS have to keep going to help others see the BS for what it is.
I’m exhausted by it all too. Our children need fighting for & protecting for the future. Those who can’t speak up for themselves who live in institutions or rely on care to survive depend on us too.
A daily dose of DS & support from BTL goes a long way in keeping my flames of passionate fight burning, even if sometimes they are just embers.
