U.S. Senate Votes to End COVID-19 Emergency
Senators voted by 48-47 on Thursday to end the COVID-19 public health emergency. However, the same resolution will be defeated in the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives and the administration has already said that if it reaches Biden’s desk he will veto it. The Hill has more.
Senate Republicans on Thursday passed a resolution to nix the coronavirus national public health emergency, their second win in as many days amid Democratic absences.
Senators voted 48-47 on the resolution, spearheaded by Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.), a day after they were also able to pass a measure to nix President Biden’s vaccine requirement for health care workers.
“I would ask him to listen to the people and end this declaration of emergency,” Marshall said in an appeal to Biden ahead of the vote.
Both votes were party line, but Republicans were able to exploit Democratic absences. Three Democratic senators were absent – Sens. Mark Kelly (Ariz.), Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) and Alex Padilla (Calif.) – compared to two absences for Republicans – Sens. James Inhofe (Okla.) and Richard Burr (N.C.) – effectively giving the GOP a majority in the chamber.
But the resolution, like the vaccine mandate vote, is going nowhere in the Democratic-controlled House. The administration also vowed ahead of the vote that if it reached Biden’s desk, he would veto it.
“Continuing to protect against COVID-19 and ensuring that our response remains nimble are top priorities of this Administration. Therefore, the Administration strongly opposes Senate Joint Resolution 38, which would terminate the national emergency declared on March 13, 2020, and unnecessarily and abruptly curtail the ability of the Administration to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic,” the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) said in a statement.

Many people nowadays have their “thinking”, such as it is, formed by Big Tech, the Media, and governments; probably more. In reality, their thought isn’t autonomous, but is a replica of the thoughts of a limited number of others. It’s very similar to the old book and film stories of human minds being taken over by aliens, such that the people become pre-programmed automata.
In these conditions, reasoning, based on individual knowledge, experience and perceptions, just disappears.
It’s not thinking it’s a false superiority complex reinforced by deep state manipulation.

There is no solid education base left to encourage any individual thought just dumbing down pseudo “equality” even among our political “elite”( sic).

It’s almost like they don’t care about the next election, because they know the fix is in, or because the Republicans who will replace them are basically batting for the same side, just with different colour rosettes.
Put another way: what do you think will change after the midterms, and the next Presidential election?
Their politicians, like ours, are bought and paid for, and there’s not a great deal we can do about it, certainly peacefully.
To put it crudely, I think the Democrats have lost the plot. The Republicans are busily constructing a counter-narrative which, I suspect, will be very plausible in an unpredictable number of states. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re insincere. DeSantis, for one, is interesting – he actually bothered to examine the advice he was receiving, and to get a variety of it.
As for what will change: probably not increasing economic inequality; the decline of the American middle class; and the nightmarish existence of an underclass!

Roll back the tape to November 2020, seize all the fake ballots and close down all those Dominion machines – we would be in a different place!

I agree he has a pretty good shot. I don’t agree with him on everything, but his instincts over this last couple of years have been pretty solid and he’s shown great personal integrity and willingness to go against the flow. I respect him for that.
Finding a politician one can respect is a rare as hens teeth. De Santis does seem to be a rare one.
I hope he has good protection – his enemies have zero morality.
I think he has family concerns which will impact any timing of a Presidential Bid. He’s a decent guy who wouldn’t sacrifice his family to live in the White House. He’s happy as Governor of Florida. If he can make it a win-win for both him and his family, he’ll run. Otherwise, he’ll wait.
