Panic Merchants, Be Gone… Covid is Just Another Virus
From the very start of the pandemic, a small but critical minority of us has argued that irrespective of the paths taken to get there, the end state will be living with COVID-19 as an endemic virus. The key question was never: how do we eradicate this virus? Rather: what is the level of risk that we are prepared to accept and live with?
Unfortunately, like cascading dominoes, governments all over the world engaged in herd behaviour to lock down their countries based on apocalyptic modelling projections.
Models are neither science nor data but a set of assumptions that generate their own tautological conclusions. The Spectator has a brutal set of charts showing the wildly inaccurate projections of most models by various British teams that vastly overestimated the harms with regard to cases, hospitalisations, ICU occupancy and deaths.
The actual data was massively better than the best-case scenarios of the original Doherty Institute modelling of March 2020.
The serial parties in No. 10 suggest the people at the very top of the British government knew the risks were low but terrified the populace into blind compliance with draconian curtailments of liberties just because they could.
At best, non-pharmaceutical interventions so beloved by governments keen to indulge their inner bossiness have had only a modest effect on the life cycle of each outbreak. Successive waves powered by new variants seem to rise and fall according to similar patterns – independent of the timing and duration of restrictions.
Last month, a major meta-analysis of 24 international studies from Johns Hopkins University by U.S. and Scandinavian researchers found that “ill-founded’ lockdowns reduced COVID-19 mortality only by between 0.2% and 2.9%, but at considerable economic cost and health and social harms. Therefore “lockdowns should be rejected out of hand as a pandemic policy instrument”.
Another study on February 1st by a nine-strong team of American, British and Canadian researchers concluded that vaccine mandates, passports and segregated lockdowns can cause more harm than good. “While COVID-19 vaccines have had a profound impact on decreasing global morbidity and mortality burdens”, “population-wide mandatory vaccine policies” impinge “on human rights, promote stigma and social polarisation, and adversely affect health and wellbeing”, and could have detrimental impacts on future public health measures including immunisation programs.
Australia’s annual death toll from all causes is about 160,000.
From March 1st, 2020, to January 31st, 2022, the average total deaths would be around 307,000. The total number of Covid-related deaths in that period, whether ‘with’ or ‘of’ Covid, is 3,835 or 1.2% of all deaths. As always, Australia’s big killers remain cancers, heart diseases, Alzheimer’s and dementia, and strokes. Improved diet and more exercise would have given us better health returns as a country. Instead, locking people in their homes for prolonged periods, restricting exercise, curtailing social interactions, increasing weight gain, stress, loneliness and alcohol dependency, forcing families apart, stopping the bonding and healing rituals of birthdays, weddings and funerals, denying quality time with children, grandchildren, parents and grandparents, creating a backlog of health demands, and depriving children of friends and education, all as the pathway to better public health, indicates just how unhinged some ‘experts’ are.
Less acutely in Australia than elsewhere, the public health system was saved but, sadly, tens of thousands of patients died and many more suffered neglect and delays. No country can improve long-term public health and human wellbeing by making itself poorer. In the 23 months to February 1st, Australia’s recorded number of suicides was 73% more than Covid deaths.
The “hygiene hypothesis” suggests that long-term normalisation of extreme hygiene practices like “masking, deep cleaning, distancing and isolation can be harmful to health, especially for children, precisely because it reduces exposure to microbes”, says Dr. Eran Bendavid from the Stanford School of Medicine. By impeding the development of natural immunity, vaccines may make the vaccinated more vulnerable to virus variants.
Despite 76% and rising full vaccination since November 1st, more Australians have died with Covid in the past three months than in the 20 months before. In the U.S., this is more politically charged as Covid deaths under Joe Biden exceed those under Donald Trump. Trump’s presidency was without vaccines but his Operation Warp Speed gave America three vaccines available for the entirety of Biden’s presidency. Yet case rates are currently highest in the most vaccinated states. Closer to home, consider Kiribati. As of January 18th, its total number of Covid cases since the pandemic started was just two. By February 15th, the numbers had exploded to 2,665 (and eight deaths). The virus came in on a flight from Fiji on January 15th. All 54 passengers were fully vaccinated, had tested negative three times prior to departure, been quarantined for a fortnight before departure and again after arrival and were masked during the flight. Despite the stringent precautions, 36 tested positive on arrival and the virus then spread quickly through the tiny Pacific island despite lockdown since January 22nd.
Vaccines continue to show strong protective benefits for the elderly and vulnerable groups. But governments overhyped claims about vaccines ending the contagion by checking infection, exaggerated universal vaccination as the key to freedom from restrictions thereby blaming the failures of the product on those who didn’t take them and causing the stigmatisation of the unvaxxed.
More than a war on the virus, lockdowns proved to be a war on the poor to protect the laptop class. The loudest calls for lockdowns have come from those with secure incomes in lockdown-proof jobs. Yet sceptical voices from the beginning pointed to the existing data, experiences and plans developed over a century that emphasised the futility and collateral harms of prolonged society-wide lockdowns, on the one hand. On the other, noting the pronounced age-segregated severe effects of COVID-19, they recommended targeted policy interventions to protect the most vulnerable while keeping the rest of society functioning. And third, they dismissed the search for the holy grail of Zero Covid and insisted that the destination, as with all such disease outbreaks, would be endemic Covid.
Like Churchill’s bon mot about the Americans, having tried everything else, will governments now do the right thing? Denmark and Sweden have already ended all restrictions, England has abandoned mandatory vaccination for health and social care workers and about another 10 European countries look set to follow.
Florida Surgeon-General Dr .Joseph Ladapo’s prescription for managing Covid is: “Keep shutdowns short, keep the economy going, keep schools in session, keep jobs intact, and focus single-mindedly on building the capacity we need to survive this into our healthcare system.” The experts who have held sway for two years are mostly research scientists in thrall to abstract models or public health experts with a bias towards controlling all of society. The minority of lockdown sceptics among medics, on the other hand, are concentrated among those engaged in clinical practice on the Covid frontline.
We neither require mandatory testing nor encourage universal vaccination for the annual flu, vaccines for which are even less efficacious than for Covid. Dr. Arnold Monto from Michigan University’s School of Public Health recommends managing endemic Covid like flu: make vaccines (bi)annually based on best-guess estimates of dominant variants, target the elderly and vulnerable populations for free recommended vaccination, make it available at cost to anyone wanting it, and learn to live with Covid as we’ve learnt to live with flu.

“Vaccines continue to show strong protective benefits for the elderly and vulnerable groups.” This assertion seems to keep rearing its head in almost every article on DS at the moment.
Would this be the case if all the tinder and kindling hadn’t been burnt by the first wave, care home state sponsored deaths and the denial of routine health care leading to the vulnerable and old dying “with covid”? I am not so sure, it is a hypothesis worth testing in my view.
I am not convinced by any data to the contrary, and have recently seen a chart that showed deaths in 69+ increase almost inline with first dose vaccinations, I would assume similar waves have followed for doses two and three.
I would wager that by and large the 80% of people who are going to die “from” [with] covid already have the remaining 20% will do so over the coming years and the vaccines have not contributed to keeping anyone else alive. In fact, they have probably caused death and illness in those who would otherwise have been just fine. (All hard to prove but the absence of proof etc. etc.)
“Vaccines continue to show strong protective benefits for the elderly and vulnerable groups.”
Correction
“Vaccines kill the the elderly and vulnerable groups within 14 days so are registered statistically as unvaccinated.”
“Vaccines continue to show strong protective benefits for the elderly and vulnerable groups.” This assertion seems to keep rearing its head in almost every article on DS at the moment.’
This is the last ‘vaccine’ lie left standing, but soon to be demolished by the fraud in the ‘vaccine’ trials
There is always the “You are less likely to get it in the first place” banded around, with no evidence to back up that claim.
Tell that to Her Maj.
She neither had the jab or the fraudulent test
You pre-empted my thoughts. I too am sick of this highly questionable assertion.
It may have been true with Delta. It is not true with Omicron- hence the Queen’s “slight cold” at 95.
Omicron is our ‘new cold’ — from this point on we’ll all have a slightly higher risk of having a bit of a sniffle every winter.
Apart from the vaccinated, who appear to have a higher risk of catching ‘the worst cold ever’ every winter.
And that’s on top of other vaccine complications (not many of which are accepted as vaccine-related yet).
And many of which are yet to be discovered, as more time passes.
They say it has a 3% death rate for over 75s, is that with Omicron or the other?
but as people have pointed out on here, there has been a spike in ACM in early 2021 with the vaccine rollout targeting old people’s homes first.
Give the massive increase in the use of Midazolam a little bit of credit for the murders
The vaccines do appear to reduce hospitalisations and deaths from covid. The vast vast majority of those that benefit from this are the old and otherwise vulnerable.
Bu there is strong data to suggest that the vaccines also cause serious health problems in a minority of vaccinees, which exceeds the vaccine benefits for covid for those under a certain age (probably higher than 65) and without morbidities.
The vaccines don’t seem to work as advertised (‘protective antibodies!‘), but instead seem to introduce an immune tolerance to the virus, which then reduces the (very low) risk of a ‘cytokine storm’ harming the infected; this appears to increase the risk of infection and thus increases the size of epidemic waves; if this is the case then vaccination would risk there being more ‘bad colds’ in the population for years to come.
As a long time follower of your substack I am not going to argue the minutiae with you, you would have my pants round my ankles in seconds (I did get a bit excited when you commented back) – however, the unstudied (insofar as I know) consequences of the old and vulnerable being permanently exposed to repeat infections of varying degrees of severity could again outweigh the benefits. On the whole I would have (if asked for my opinion) advised my elderly family members to wait for more data – as it happened they were scared to death and thought covid was a death sentence so joined up happily and have both since enjoyed a bout of mild covid to go with their vaccines.
“The vaccines do appear to reduce hospitalisations and deaths from covid.” You keep drumming this into the heads of scepetics but have yet to produce evidence to back this statement up.
“The vaccines do appear to reduce hospitalisations and deaths from covid. The vast vast majority of those that benefit from this are the old and otherwise vulnerable.”
Any data or studies that show this is flawed.
Vaccines continue to show strong financial benefits for shareholders in companies that produce vaccines.
They’re going to have to pull some good statistical stunts to make the number of lives ‘saved’ from covid outnumber those who succumbed to the interventions both pharm and non-pharm.
Right from March 2020, as a retired dairy farmer, I railed to my Tory MP against the use of Neil Ferguson as the modeller guru as his predictions had been wildly wrong bout BSE, Foot and Mouth and Swine Fever and he had done untold damage against agriculture and thereby the public. However, yet another Prime Minister believed him – why? The statistics on deaths from viruses since 1950 showed clearly that this virus would be no different other than it seems right from the outset tobe almost confined to deaths in over 70s. The average age of death was and has remained over 80 years and the average deaths over the last 20 years has not risen when adjusted for age and population growth. Yet the Government continued with Non Medical Interventions – why? The use of 4 behavioural scientists on SAGE and ditching the epidemic process which was in place from the outset changed the whole basis of how the politician approached the way that the public should be advised – why? The Government did not produce any profit and loss analysis when bringing in the draconian measures — why? These are only a few of the questions… Read more »
agree with most of that…..but to respectfully correct you there are far more than 4 behavioural ‘scientists’ on SAGE, the figure is over 100!! Strangely enough there are NO analytical scientists with the knowledge, or ability to question the PCR test which is the lynchpin of ALL data, and therefore policy. The method was never validated (a pre-requiste of all methods), did not have a gold standard to measure against (ie virus isolate, and still hasn’t), and was rubber stamped by the corrupt to the core WHO inside 24 hours in Jan 2020. This was at a time when only 6 deaths, worldwide, had been recorded. What was the hurry?? Basically, having been involved in analytical chemistry (and method development) for 30 years, the test is nothing short of fraudulent, and easy to manipulate. I have the official WHO methodology, and by following it to the letter, I could guarantee 100% Positives (or negatives) with every sample I tested simply by altering the cycle threshold!! For example if you had a blood alcohol test you expect the same quantities of the sample to be measured against a known quantity of alcohol. The PCR test methodology ‘allows’ them to use as… Read more »
Review report Corman-Drosten et al. Eurosurveillance 2020 – CORMAN-DROSTEN REVIEW REPORT
This was the report that did not go down well with certain jabapparatchiks on these pages, indeed one stated that the testing regime was modified – without giving any detail – therefore suggesting that it was “all right” from that point on…what utter unadulterated crap.
When you read this with the ILLA document it becomes very clear that the reliance on the RT-PCR process is so “not fit for purpose” that it undermines every facet of “government” strategy based thereon; MSM is guilty for all time for allowing this bollox to continue “without comment”…
So let the fools who STILL maintain that this process has provided a meaningful contribution to the management of a virus no more harmful than a normal winter flu – which has never, ever involved health interventions such as lockdowns etc – keep on believing this rubbish; I struggle to regard them with any thing else than utter contempt (and I am being polite, world class non rude)
“The serial parties in No. 10 suggest the people at the very top of the British government knew the risks were low but terrified the populace into blind compliance with draconian curtailments of liberties just because they could.”
If only that was the real reason.
Yup…maybe look into Dark Winter 2001: Lockstep 2010 and Event 201 October 2019.
The regime has moved on while we continue to go round in circles. War with Russia is the next Problem-Reaction-Solution phase of the planned collapse of Western society
So just to clarify:NATO supported Ukrainian forces are shelling parts of the breakaway Donbas region of Ukraine, which is home to 20 million Russians, in the hope of provoking a Russian response.
This will be labelled a Russian invasion of Ukraine and the foreign elements that control the US and UK’s political puppets will get the war they wanted.
I do believe the few British troops that might be available for ‘manoeuvres’ would be more usefully deployed in taking down a rogue Canadian government and PM.
Think they would be propping up the Canadian Government rather that rescuing the people, with the blessing of The Queen….get better soon!
Have the russian’s got far since invading ukraine last wednesday?
/MSM
It was “imminent” yesterday, according to the ironically named James Cleverly, who is also, ironically, MP for Braintree. Today, Putin plan for invading Ukraine has ‘already begun’, warns Number 10
https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/putin-plan-for-invading-ukraine-has-already-begun-warns-number-10/ar-AAU7EMb
The Western “powers” are gagging for it, but Putin isn’t playing.
Well at least if there’s a real threat of bombs etc it would fade the Omircon hysteria into obscurity.
I’m betting this Russkie war-plan was so devious that it was ‘pre-prepared’, as all the best plans are nowadays.
Iraq2. The sequel.
I thought our first lockdown was due to Macron
Last night I saw a comet in the Western sky. All bets off
“Vaccines continue to show strong protective benefits for the elderly and vulnerable groups”
Evidence?
The only thing I have seen are the graphs of the elderly produced on this site when comparing hospitalisation and deaths between treble jabbed and unjabbed. The single and double jabs have a limited shelf life and the treble jab is showing the same trend.
I have no way of knowing if this data is or is not sufficiently robust. There maybe confounding issues, such as treble jabs only being given to healthy elderly whereas unhealthy elderly are basically left to die of whatever they were going to die of anyway.
As always, there is no attempt to do any meaningful studies into the effect of the jabs, quite deliberately.
This is not a sufficient basis to make the statement you refer to, but it seems its the latest in the ‘luke warm’ sceptical commentary employed by people to keep their jobs and not be ‘closed down’.
Yes. The protective benefits of the are likely to be short lived.
And the risks of covid (and Omicron particularly) are very low to the non-vulnerable (<65, not morbidly obese) in the population.
The lack of proper studies into the long- medium- and short-term side-effects/complications of the vaccines is criminal. They’ve thrown away the rule-book about how to conduct investigations into new medical treatments.
The fact that there have been no releases of data from the original vaccine clinical trials beyond the 6-month point post vaccination is astounding — they should have been releasing monthly updates (this isn’t usual in clinical trials — but then trying to vaccinate everyone in the population less than 9 months after ‘first in man’ is previously unheard-of, so you’d think they’d at least try to keep ahead of risks).
It would seem that Fauci threw away the rule-book as long ago as the AIDS crisis, and is still in place to effect a repeat during the last 2 years.
They definitely know sod-all about the long-term effects. Still the monies will all be in the Pharma coffers by then (apart from the pay-offs to the many agents who helped the scam along).
There is no credible evidence to support any claim that the injections bestow any benefits on anyone.
Well said, except that I could not conscientiously recommend vaccinating anyone but the most clinically vulnerable with the experimental gene therapies that are passing off as covid vaccines, and only then with their full informed consent as to what they are taking.
Fraud…….huge fraud – all because they want to change the world.
There will have to be a reckoning.
I don’t ever remember believing the fairly tale that covid-19 existed, so living it seems like nonsense to me. Sounds like another face saving exercise for our glorious leaders.
I’m proud to say I feel 100% vindicated of my scepticism since early days and thank Toby for setting up Sceptics and keeping me sane in the dark days of arguing with the bed wetters.
I think Canada is the big issue at the moment. The WEF seem to be hell bent on claiming that country via the unmasked tyrannical puppet Trudeau. They effectively already have Australia and New Zealand. And not a word of the disgraceful behaviour of Trudeau’s black shirts in the mainstream media… But there have been derogatory remarks and smears directed towards the freedom truckers, of course.
In Canada the Canadian Police shoved then pepper sprayed a RT journalist, people from the crown carried her off and treated her with ice. Doubt they would’ve done that with a CNN of BBC reporter!
There’s a rampant fraud virus in academia. The UN – though good at transporting sex slave labour and adrenochrome is a stage for the petrol dollar. What’s been done about these people?
Vaccines continue to show strong protective benefits for the elderly and vulnerable groups
Not according to statistical analyses available on the internet and, specifically, the analyses of Professors Fenton and Neil that have been carried on this very site.
What about the data from Scotland, oh wait it’s disappeared!
The continured assertions on this site by contributors and posters like amenuensis, that the injections confer any benefit whatsoever has yet to be supported by credible evidence – yet they keep making them.
I wish someone would tell Nina Myskow that Covid is just another virus. Just heard her on the Jeremy Vine programme pontificating about the importance of keeping the restrictions and calling those who don’t agree, idiots. Awful woman.
I thought Myskow had been left behind in the 1980s.
Jeremy Vine keeps recycling them.
One day we need to recycle all these vaccine mandates some of these pundits have been pushing, and shame them.
There was an attractive blonde bimbo, obviously the ‘laptop’ class complaining about the ending of restrictions. She doesn’t give the dumb blonde stereotype any favours.
Quote ” The key question was never: how do we eradicate this virus? “. Odd that I remember Boris and co saying quite clearly… we will beat and eradicate this virus!. Now it’s we have to live with the virus. Us sceptics have been banging on exactly this for the last 2 years.
Back in Jan-March 2020 there was little that was known about covid and the response was probably reasonable (actually, too little was done in Jan-Feb).
But from April-May 2020 we knew far more — enough to justify targeted lockdowns and getting everyone else to not worry so much.
The trouble is, politicians don’t really know much about science, but do know lots about being politicians, and one rule is ‘don’t do U-turns‘. We’ve suffered from the results of this characteristic of theirs for the last 21 months, and will probably suffer more over the next few years.
All that should have been done in Jan-Feb was some prepping of extra capacity both in terms of beds, and bringing some additional staff back into the front line medical terms. I would perhaps suggest that the govt could have made available multivitamins and high strength vitamin D and then just sat back and enjoyed the economic benefits. Oh, and got off twitter.
I disagree: by end February 2020 we had the figures from the Diamond Princess, making it clear that only the frail, old passengers were at risk of death – and not all that great a risk – while the younger, healthier crew had effectively no risk of fatalities.
The only important thing that the DP didn’t teach us was the invulnerability of children but that was presumably clear from Italian and Spanish experience.
Therefore even the first lockdown was an irrational choice by a spineless, panic-prone government.
Also….This asymptomatic transmission seems a load of BS too. As with other coronaviruses, where was the evidence for AT then.
Back in Jan-March 2020 there was little that was known about covid and the response was probably reasonable (actually, too little was done in Jan-Feb). More lies from ammenuis. HMG downgraded CONVID – the virus that does not exist and has never been proven to exist or cause disease – because the mortality rates – even according to the criminals in HMG behind this criminal scam – are no different to the COMMON FLU, which miraculously disappeared in 2020 – as admitted by these lowlifes on 19th March 2020. STOP LYING. I am sick of these smooth talking liars who work for these agents of evil. High consequence infectious diseases (HCID) https://www.gov.uk/guidance/high-consequence-infectious-diseases-hcid#status-of-covid-19 Status of COVID-19 As of 19 March 2020, COVID-19 is no longer considered to be a high consequence infectious disease (HCID) in the UK. There are many diseases which can cause serious illness which are not classified as HCIDs. The 4 nations public health HCID group made an interim recommendation in January 2020 to classify COVID-19 as an HCID. This was based on consideration of the UK HCID criteria about the virus and the disease with information available during the early stages of the outbreak. Now that more… Read more »
There was no ‘covid pandemic’ in early 2020 – certainly nothing worth taking special measures. There was lots of media and statistical fakery though – as well you know.
Before Christmas he was saying lockdowns is why we could life restrictions, now he’s saying, ‘the successful vaccine rollout has got us out of this. Make your mind up!
THE VIRUS – lets be clear about what you are insinuating here. That a novel transmissible virus has been proven to exist and is killing people and that there was a pandemic. These are all unsubstantiated falsehoods. There was no pandemic, there was only ever a fraudulent unvalidated test that spews out false positives on demand (not that anyone can be positive for something that does not exist) and has never been proven to be linked to a specific disease and in fact the PCR cannot diagnose a disease – EVER. It just cant do that. So we have an unvalidated test testing for a disease that has never been proven to exist, with a test that cannot diagnose a disease even if all the boxes are ticked. Do you understand this when you write about living with “THE VIRUS” -that all the claims about THE VIRUS rest on this blatantly corrupt and fraudulent “science”. Do you understand that the only evidence of this virus is a test that is unvalidated and doesnt work anyway. Ive seen more coughing in the past 3 months than I have in 24. The reality is that virology has been exposed as a fraudulent… Read more »
More rantings from the “viruses don’t exist” loons who have no understanding of modern virology.
Coronavirus OC43 emerged in 1889. The world spent 2 years with a serious ‘influenza’ epidemic (‘Russian flu’), and from that point on it has merrily coped with there being one more (of many) reasons to catch a cold.
The idea of ‘zero covid’ is nonsensical — both because it is impossible to achieve, and because the costs in trying to achieve it far outweigh the impact of the virus (beyond the initial wave or two).
If I walked into a crowded cinema and caused a panic by falsely shouting FIRE!!
I would be arrested and face a spell in prison.
These peddlers of fear and panic did just this – they should not be allowed to just simply walk away from their crimes.
Trouble is, the pedlars of fear and panic are those who control the prisons.
What’s impressed me though is the principled stand taken by nearly every modeller who got it wrong. All of them, bar one or two hold-outs, has done the decent thing. You know, the thing with the glass of whisky and the service revolver and the back room. I think this shows an admirable commitment to their profession. What’s that you say? None of them did the decent thing? Well, I’m shocked, shocked I tell you.
I recall a time when anyone who compared coronavirus to the flu was instantly labelled a denier, a nutjob or a conspiracy theorist … now I hear this more and more.
As someone who had covid and its symptoms I’ve actually had worse bouts of flu.
I have to say that when I contracted what I believe to have been Covid 19 (I haven’t undergone any tests, and I don’t intend to) a few weeks ago it was something worse than a mild cold or case of ‘flu. This was not what I expected. I was ill for a week with a ‘flu-like virus and no sense of smell. My husband, on the other hand, who is very fit and healthy (we are both around 70 years old) was very ill with a crippling cough, which kept him awake at night, heavy night sweats, pains in his legs and feet which meant he could hardly walk for several days, and his resting heart rate was 100. Neither of us wanted him to go to hospital, not having much faith in the National Covid Service, but there were one or two occasions when I wondered if he should. It took four weeks for his recovery to begin. Neither of us have been jabbed, and neither of us regret this either, but I would like to point out that, for some people, Covid 19 is a great deal more serious than just a mild cold. In fact, it… Read more »
A government that was interested in health would’ve offered Ivermectin to HCQ with zink!
They would have handed out vitamin D from day one.
I’ve certainly changed to ensuring that I keep my immune system ‘recharged’ in future, since I’ve no intention of being injected with god knows what by these medical charlatans.
‘First Do No Harm’ indeed!
Exactly. We had some in store, but were uncertain how to use it; and perhaps it actually made some nasty symptoms less severe than they would have been! We had also been taking all the recommended supplements right from the start. However, we survived (part of the 99%). It all just seemed a little weird.
But, nobody would have made any money! All those companies churning out masks, hand gel, disinfectant sprays – and of course, Big Pharma, who doubtless financed the whole thing out of all those lovely profits.
Firstly, I’m very glad to hear you have both recovered. I think it’s beyond doubt something was going around and I do believe it was a man made virus, accidentally released from a laboratory, or otherwise. The reason every government in the world hit the panic button was because they knew precisely where it had come from and they knew the potential because they are all doing the same gain of function research. Porton Down isn’t developing novel knitting patterns. I spent the best part of 6 months in hospital over the 2020/21 winter undergoing major surgery. I’m unjabbed, refuse to wear a face mask and don’t bother with social distancing. In my time there I didn’t see anyone suffering from covid and there were people in my wards in a lot worse nick than I was. I almost defied it to infect me, but then I have only had what I suspect was flu once in 65 years. I did get a rotten cough a few months ago but refused to test to confirm if it was covid. It was a lousy winter cough as far as I was concerned. My neighbour (in her 40’s) caught it and was… Read more »
Thanks for your good wishes. Yes, it certainly seemed different from your average virus. So glad that my immune system is still intact. Why on EARTH would you get “vaccinated” after having the infection?!!!
Belt and braces – only in this case, the braces might stop the belt keeping your trousers up.
I am almost certain I had it in January 2020 (when the virus wasn’t even supposed to be in America). I had all the symptoms including loss of smell and taste as well. I would compare it to a bad case of flu as it kept me bed-ridden for about 6 days. I also think this narrative that the vaccines significantly reduce symptoms is bogus. I’ve heard from many people who had it after vaccination who were definitely sick. This said, the vast majority of people do seem to have mild or asymptomatic cases. I didn’t. BTW, after my “case” I have never tested positive since, which makes me think I acquired natural immunity with my non-case.
I would like to point out that it’s only your assumption that what both of you suffered was Covid 19.
You did very well to avoid hospitalisation, though, as evidenced by all those who went in and only emerged in a body bag.
You’re right, of course; but we were infected by a family member who tested positive. Not that THAT makes it at all certain in any case. I was only too happy to stay under the radar.
I had covid. to be honest I’ve had worse athlete’s foot
For most people the flu is far worse. Have you ever heard of an “asymptomatic” case of the flu? Every time I’ve come down with the flu I was sick as a dog for a week. Eighty percent of people with a confirmed case of COVID are either asymptomatic or have only very mild symptoms.
I’ve had worse colds
Both ‘cold’ and ‘flu’ are colloquial terms describing the symptoms of a multiplicity of long established viruses. This one has joined them.
The point I’ve yet to see made in the Corporate Meedja is that at the start of 2020, if you’d predicted zero cases and zero deaths from the coofs, you’d still be closed to the real numbers than the estimates from the ICL and SAGE Doom Priests.
Even more silly and hopeless than the producers of these garbage models are the timid and gullible people who actually set some store by them, despite years of wild inaccuracy from Ferguson on previous pan- or epidemics, and the palpable nonsense dished up, month after month, in this recent display of ineptitude.
It’s a pity that the gormless “modellers” don’t polish up their crystal balls, and forecast the premature and unwarranted deaths, diseases and other maladies that will arise from both the measures taken (or not) and the unknown effects of the “vaccines”. As there seems to be a recent flurry of novel publicity on coronary problems, the gloss paint brushes seem to be slapping on the coverings as fast as possible.
What’s more worrying, having delved into Kennedy Jr’s book, is that the regulatory bodies for Pharma are all so compromised or cowed that they aren’t worth a damn.
They even justified not using proper protocols when testing AIDS drugs in Africa by stating that they thought ‘local standards’ were more suitable. They’re killers and they got (and get) away with it.
One story, only one story and in only one way put me on alert in Jan 2020; vanished freedom of press being the first act of a tyrant.
As luck would have it, I had from my degree and career, relevant in-depth knowledge to assess virus; verdict arrived at by end Jan 2020.
Start-Feb, I launched counter-action; running own business for some years, ‘flying solo’ is habit. Didn’t wait or look for anyone, ‘off my own bat’ I went about towns chatting to other members of public, approached bosses (public and private sector) in area, to counter panic.
I rely on body-language to a very large extent for clarity of meaning. However, 9th March I wrote to local paper previously published my letters: useless.
When I heard ‘emergency powers’ been grabbed, my ‘blood ran cold’; when I learnt (after non-event) about lock-up, my lid went so stratospheric, it was 5 days before I retrieved my manners; my counter-actions then including against lock-up.
My explosion was instinct, natural response by a Brit whose predecessors had twice fought in defence of freedom from fear against a tyrant; reversal of WWII result and of first assumption of English Law guaranteed to trigger my fury.
P.S.
Two months later I noticed this and other sites; by then I was so far along my own route, I didn’t return to join in, just occasionally looked to see how far they’d got. Later I sent some info to some to use to support their stance; none did.
Damage to physical health now coming out, but has already been done. I’ve been trying to stop it being done ever since start Feb 2020.
Whether or not anything’s effective, accepts prior assumption there’s risk from virus. It’s about tests, not clinical cases. 99+% of population are not at risk. Age is a human prejudice. Virus are not prejudiced.
Much was known about coronavirus years before 2020. It was known to be a coronavirus. If it had been very different from any previous coronavirus, it would not have been a coronavirus. Virus are very simple things. There’s very little that can change without ceasing to be same type of virus.
Zero success but my home’s been vandalised, thieved from, business destroyed and myself physically assaulted. I’ve still got my life, many haven’t and I don’t regret being inconveniently wayward.
When is see what the Canadian Police are doing to their own people who just want their freedoms back, I have some sympathy with the IRA
We were all feeling a little anxious about the apparent forthcoming pandemic to start with.I remember when the NHS downgraded Covid 19 from a “high consequence virus with a high death rate” just a few days before the first Lockdown. I was so thrilled! I expected it to be all over the papers and news shows next day. How naive! Of course, there was no mention of this wonderful news. Nevertheless, I went along with the narrative for a while. However, by April 2020 I was quite clear that I would NOT be getting jabbed. I wrote a letter to my family members explaining my many reasons for refusing the “vaccine.” When I look back on that letter, I realise that all the “discoveries” that have recently been made regarding adverse reactions, vaccine ineffectiveness, damage to the immune system etc etc were all reasons I gave for my “vaccine” refusal in my letter. In other words, the information was out there if you cared to look beyond the prevailing narrative.
They lied all along. Additionally, most knew they were lying when they lied. Furthermore, they knew the mainstream “watchdog” media would’t call them on their lies (so there would be no consequences for lying/being wrong).
It is safe to say that there is no real “search for the truth” occurring in both “science” and in journalism. This, one would think, is not a positive development for the planet’s inhabitants – today and in years to come.
Four words to sum up two years:
NEVER FORGIVE, NEVER FORGET.
Indeed; I’m looking forward to seeing the quails quail.
It seems a bit superfluous to point out that ‘public health systems’ that need to be protected or ‘saved’ (a more emotive word) by allowing large numbers of the public to die undiagnosed and untreated are not fit-for-purpose health systems.
And governments that try to justify the measures that led to those deaths are not fit-for-purpose governments.
Lockdown is a war on the mind, a war on Man’s means of survival.
That is why there has been an unceasing bombardment of absurdities from the government.
“…the people at the very top of the British government knew the risks were low but terrified the populace into blind compliance with draconian curtailments of liberties just because they could.”
No. it wasn’t just because they could, it was because everyone else was doing it and they were terrified of the fallout if it had all gone wrong. At the outset the stated justification was to stop the NHS being overwhelmed, which at least was correct, I think. After that, as I have repeatedly said, the experts were the wrong experts and still are.
Watch even a short portion of this and you’ll begin to understand what’s really going on.

There is an old business adage – if you invest in forecasting(modelling) you’re either lucky or you’re wrong !! there’s nothing more to say really !!!
J K Galbraith on forecasting:
“There are two types of forecaster, those who are wrong and those who don’t know they are wrong”
Covid (19) is a disease, not a virus.
