Coronavirus Laws May Be Scrapped in Weeks
The Government is drawing up plans to repeal emergency coronavirus laws including the legal requirement to self-isolate when testing positive for COVID-19. However, before you get too excited, this would be replaced by official guidance which encourages people to behave in certain ways. This means while the legal penalty may be gone, the tyranny of the risk-averse insurance companies, trade unions and public officials may well remain. Also, to further dampen the excitement, it won’t happen for weeks or even months, even though the virus is clearly no longer causing a public health crisis. And in the meantime the mask mandate is set to stay beyond January 26th. The Telegraph has the story.
The Telegraph understands Boris Johnson wants to permanently repeal emergency coronavirus laws which have governed how the public can live for almost two years.
Instead, official guidance would remain in place which encourages people to behave in certain ways, but would not result in fines or legal punishment if ignored.
The plans will be worked up over the coming weeks, with an announcement being penned in as early as the spring – although no final decisions have been taken.
It would also mean there would be no legal requirement to isolate after contact with someone who has Covid or to wear face masks in certain settings.
A senior Government source told the Telegraph: “Lots of legal requirements were put in place during the pandemic. As we come into a stage where things are more manageable and those legal restrictions may no longer be necessary, we will look to remove them promptly from the statute book. The Prime Minister is obviously determined to get back to normal as soon as we can.”
The move comes as hope grows that this winter’s Covid surge triggered by the emergence of the Omicron variant is easing, with daily case numbers continuing to fall. …
Downing Street is looking at three different drives to ease pandemic restrictions, some short-term and some long-term.
The so-called Plan B restrictions are expected to be largely lifted on January 26th, the review date that the Prime Minister set when he imposed them last month.
That means that the legal requirement for Covid passports – proof of full vaccination or a negative test – to be shown before entering large crowd venues is set to be dropped.
So too is guidance that urges people to work from home. However, a requirement to wear face masks on public transport, in shops and in other settings is likely to stay beyond January 26th.
A second drive is easing restrictions on travel. The need to take a lateral flow test on the second day after arriving into the U.K. is expected to drop.
A third drive is longer-term changes, with Government ministers believing the U.K. will move out of the pandemic and into a phase where Covid continues circulating but less frequently.
The Prime Minister and his Cabinet has made clear that an approach of “learning to live with Covid” must be adopted, given scientists say the virus will never disappear completely.
Supporters of the move compare it to the approach for other viruses – such as flu – in which people are encouraged to behave a certain way but not legally compelled to do so.
Depressingly, however glacial and disappointing the Government’s plans are, they will almost certainly be better than Labour’s.
Labour announced its alternative roadmap for Britain to “learn to live well with Covid” on Sunday, as the party accused the Government of having “an empty slogan with no plan”.
Launching a 10-point plan, Wes Streeting, the Shadow Health Secretary, said Labour would build up “sovereign capability” to manufacture test kits in Britain and publish economic, wellbeing and equality impact assessments for different policies to tackle the virus.
“We’re not out of the woods with COVID-19,” he said. “The virus will change and adapt and we need to learn to live well with it.
“For the Government, living with Covid is just an empty slogan with no plan. For some of the fanatics on the Conservative back benches, living with Covid means letting the virus rip. Both positions are highly irresponsible.”

Of all the pointless rules, masks may well be the most pointless. The only possible explanation for keeping them is that they are a visual reminder of “the bad thing that is happening” so that people don’t forget the bad thing is happening and will therefore understand when the rules come back to “stop the bad thing happening”
It’s also the most significant. To me, the masks are by far the biggest factor in perpetuating the ridiculous notion that the default position is that we are all permanently diseased. It will be years before seeing a masked person in a supermarket will be the rare exception (certainly in the area I live) rather than the norm. Some have resolved to wear them for evermore and I can well believe that will

I hope so and think you are probably right. It is quite clear that many wear their masks in supermarkets but not in pubs. The logic escapes me but nothing has made sense to me for two years now.
I live in a different area where most people only put on mask when they’re at the cash register because cashier commands them to. So they do wear it in supermarkets but not in all the areas of supermarkets
I’m sorry, but I don’t agree with this. I’ve never, ever worn a mask anywhere and never once has a cashier in a supemarket “commanded” me to. In my experience they don’t give a flying f*ck and even if they do are simply not going to challenge you.

Just one major news article on the infection risk that masks carry should be enough to consign them to the dustbin of history. Or maybe not. as you say, there are those who have now become so hooked on them, that nothing will dissuade them. They should remember though, that a very significant proportion of those millions who died in the Spanish Flu epidemic, died as a result of infection FROM their face coverings.
It is also the stupidest from public health perspective. I suspect that the current big resistance to (working) vaccines is largely rooted in the idiocy and tyranny of masks – because useless mask mandates were the seed of division and perfect tool to quickly destroy all trust in whatever the “authorities” were recommending. In this sense the introduction of mask mandates must have literally cost thousands lives (of those elderly who rejected their vaccination because they were primed to suspect authority of bullshitting them again).

The face mask regs have an opening justification of there being an emergency, this is clearly no longer the case, the current face mask regs expire on 26th Jan and if they wish to continue with them as a legal requirement it will need new or amended regs to be passed. I doubt it will do much good but I do feel we need to do all we can to point out to MPs and anyone who will listen that there is no longer an emergency and that any regs, laws procedures that are predicated on there being an emergency are no longer tenable.
As I say I doubt anybody will listen but I think we do need to push home this point, all this covid stuff is done on the justification of an emergency but covid is now routine.
As mentioned above, these regs have never been tested in Court and since now there is even less argument for an ’emergency’ they never will be. That is why they have to let these ‘laws’ laps while keeping guidelines as a comfort blanket for the bedwetters (wet blankets lol).

I don’t care about masks, I got exempt lanyards from a lockdownsceptics. link before mandates came into force but only wore one for a couple of weeks. I did give a few away to people who I had explained their exempt status to but some just put their masks on anyway. Gave up after a while.
I haven’t been on a bus for decades. My regular taxi drivers know I’m exempt and few of them wear masks themselves.
I have translated my exemption into Classical Greek with Latin on the other side. The regulations say that an exemption necklace can be home-made; the regulations do not stipulate the language.

One of our Sitplers delivers groceries to households for a supermarket. He says on his delivery sheet is often a note customer wants driver to wear a mask. Others complain when he states he is exempt why the management sends someone who does not wear one when they are fearful.
These people probably will never give up their fear ever.
From my personal perspective, the mask regulations put me in in a very difficult moral and ethical position.
I consider myself a law-abiding person. And someone who would never wish to endanger or distress other people. But I also believe in telling the truth.
Now, there is truthfully no medical reason that I can’t wear a face mask. On the other hand, it is also true to say that I don’t want to live in a world where people are compelled, under force of law, to walk around in public with their faces obscured by a useless piece of cloth.
Does that mean that I would literally commit suicide if given no other alternative? I cannot definitively answer that question.
But it is fair to say that the longer useless masks are mandated by law, the greater the chances of me saying “yes” are.
For my own good, and the good of the rest of human society, I am now prepared to assert my exemption from mask regulations on the grounds that their continued enforcement will cause me great distress.
There’s also no medical reason why you can’t have your legs chopped off at the knees. Granted, it’s going to restrict your abilty to move somewhat but millions of people cope with wheelchairs just fine.

In Germany, whilst they are currently backpedalling a bit on the planned vaxx mandate because of losing public support for it and boosters thanks to Omicron’s mildness and ubiquitousness, they are reframing the mandates to prepare for future variants/the autumn.
And they want to address Omicron mainly by vaccinating against it with a new version of BioNTech’s gunk, which the hope exists by March, rather than let it rip.
BioNTech is now responsible for 0.5% of German GDP, so the Germans have no choice but to stay hooked on its output.

It’s very difficult truly for the unvaccinated in Germany right now as Medical apartheid is already well established in Germany and the vaccine mandate is a sword of Damocles over the heads of the unvaccinated (a parliamentary debate takes place on the issue at the end of January). The vast vaccinated majority seem unbothered that the 3G rule for entry to everything except food shops/pharmacies (twice vaccinated recovered or tested) has been largely dumped in favour of 2G (test no longer sufficient) or even 2G plus (booster required). So the vaccinated are let off testing even though they can transmit the virus, totally bizarre. Only Bavaria and one other Land is pushing back against 2G plus as its restaurants are suffering. Meanwhile all over Germany bars pubs and discos are all closed by law. Some areas have even banned tourism! Not that anyone sane would want to go there in the current circumstances ….

2G plus means vaccinated and tested (not just boostered). And you are considered “vaccinated” only if either double-vaccinated within the past 3 months or boostered. It’s true that the rules vary locally and it’s a complete clusterfuck, but it seems to bother noone (except maybe a 100K people throughout the country who join peaceful protest walks every Monday, only to be called nazi scum by the government in exchange). There was even one pro-vaccination “demo” (they gathered up maybe 2K pro-government fanatics for this purpose).

The fantasy of our health minister is that from now on there is an ever-present danger from which people must protect themselves by repeated vaccinations. He does not bother to explain how come the 8 or so coronaviruses which stayed with us for hundreds/thousands of years have not mutated into killer variants yet. Or why it makes sense to vaccinate kids for a disease which for all practical purposes affects only the elderly. Appointing Lauterbach as health minister was the biggest mistake they ever made, I think they could not find anyone willing to take the position, as it took so long to announce an appointment. I hope he says something so vile soon, they have to axe him. He is a lunatic and should not be allowed to say anything publicly, never mind represent Germany or make any important decisions. The clips from 2009 where colleagues from the health committee were asked about him and they all chose to say nothing speaks volumes.

I’ve been living alongside covid (not living with covid, as I’ve never actually caught it) since April 2020. Vitamins D, C, K2, zinc and quercetin are all I’ve needed. My life has been as normal as possible and I’ve certainly never worn a useless face nappy to enter a shop. But I will still be immensely glad to see the back of all this nonsense. If indeed Johnson does actually keep his word . . . he hasn’t so far.
I thinkI’ve caight it (possibly two scariants, nearly two years apart). Can’t say for sure as I refuse to take tests, but the first time it was similar to a mild cold, and the second time to a heavy cold. I’ve never taken any ‘precautions’ whatsoever, or avoided anywhere (use trains quite a lot periodically).
The idea that this needs any government response whatsoever is ludicrous.
I’m 72 and every year without fail there have been colds and flu. It happened every winter season and we didn’t need tests. If you weren’t well you took some pills and went to bed or carried on. Now everyone makes a song and dance about something that occurs naturally. I look around me in amazement at the way people are living their lives now and its pitiful.

I caught it pretty bad last August, and ended up having a month off work in all. But the NHS might as well not existed for me anyway as they’re not interested unless you have severe breathing difficulties.
No treatment advice offered other than ‘take paracetamol and drink plenty of water’. That’s of great comfort when you’ve got severe symptoms and feel like it’s not getting any better.
If the NHS had been prescribing ivermectin, or even hadn’t made it impossible to get hold of in the UK so I could have bought it legally, then maybe I could have reduced the symptoms and shortened the recovery period.
That’s why governments across the western world removed Ivermectin. It would have destroyed the case for clot shots (depopulation agenda) and the need for digital ID for the survivors.
The removal of ivrrmectin fro the WHO list of essential medicines is due to collaboration between fauci and tedros gebraus.

I had this experience last week after testing positive during a routine hospital visit. Self isolation is of no consequence to me whatever but the Serco Track’n’Trace phone call could have been most unpleasant except that I was interested to see just how unprofessional the process could be.

Unfortunately the Australia/Djokovic situation is being repeated and reinforced by every country around the world. The UK might look like a slightly better prison state than most, but try escaping. I refer to face nappies as Nosegays now. During the Black Death plagues they believed smelling nice things protected you from the plague and had various items that smelt nice (the reason why brides have a bouquet of flowers) and they were generally referred to as Nosegays. Of course these nosegays were useless, just like face nappies.

It’s amazing what a few illegal parties can cause isn’t it? Suddenly the Government are planning to drop all restrictions yet only last week they’ll have been cooking up plans to extend them yet again.
Peoples attitude to mask never ceases to amaze me. Yesterday we were at a local restaurant and there was a birthday party at quite a big table. Twenty people, maybe, including children. They were already there when we arrived and left about 1.5 hours later. Half of them got up and donned masks for the walk to the car. Why? Did they think they can only catch The Plague when walking about? I doubt we’ll ever be entirely free of these things, I believe some people delight in them like some sort of visible virtue signalling and will be loathe to give them up.

That now appears to have been the intention all along – a permanently classified as “sick” society is so easy to sell the” never ending jab cure”.
I was invited to a committee meeting in local village hall, they asked we test, wear masks, socially distance and insisted on the windows being open despite it being -3C outside. I graciously declined.
The next evening I went out for dinner with many of the same people. None even contemplated a test, wore a mask or were in the slightest bit fussed about how close we sat at the table. Madness
Masks are useless to us proles, but they are a very good barometer for TPTB. If large amounts of people are seen divesting themselves of face coverings, it might be seen as a tide turning in public opinion, which I would think is something the government doesn’t want – they want us to be uncertain all the time. For some that uncertainty relates to safety, for other to ‘being seen as different’ and for yet more the fear they might ‘get into trouble’. It is going to take something really major to wake people up, and my guess is that would be the realisation that vaccines are killing and injuring many, many people. Surely this will come to the fore at some point? I hope so very much.
