U.K.’s Daily Covid Cases FALL For First Time in Month

Britain’s daily Covid cases fell for the first time in a month today, deaths declined by 30.4% week-on-week and hospitalisations dropped in London. Meanwhile, Government ministers claimed the Omicron-fuelled staffing crisis in the NHS will be “short-lived”. It looks like Boris’s optimistic prediction in the House of Commons yesterday, in which he speculated we would be back to normal in three weeks, was on the money. Maybe he should join SPI-M! MailOnline has more.

Department of Health figures show another 179,756 Covid cases were recorded over the last 24 hours, down slightly on the 189,213 reported last week.

The drop has likely been helped by the fact two days’ worth of cases were reported in Wales last Thursday, making today’s drop appear steeper.

In England, infections rose 4% over the same period to 152,306. But the small rise may indicate they are starting to flatten in the country, amid a growing body of data showing the capital’s cases are ‘slowing down’.

Latest hospital data showed another 2,078 Covid patients were admitted to U.K. wards on January 6th, which was up 38% on a week ago. Another 231 deaths were also recorded, down 30% on last week.

But in London – which was first to be struck by the Omicron wave – admissions fell 19% in seven days from 456 to 367 a day, marking the fourth day in a row that they’ve tumbled week-on-week.

Even NHS leaders now say there are signs admissions in the capital may be peaking, however, experts note that cases are still rising in the over-60s who are most vulnerable to severe disease.

Boris Johnson today downplayed pressure on hospitals saying they had enough staff to see them through the winter, despite two dozen trusts declaring ‘critical incidents’ and waiting lists hitting new records.

While the Prime Minister accepted the health service was “under huge pressure”, he said it was “not true” that it could be overwhelmed because so many staff are off isolating with Covid.

He said staff numbers had been increased – about 6,000 more doctors and 10,000 nurses were hired during the pandemic – which should ease the strain, combined with the NHS’ volunteer army of trainee and retired medics.

Earlier, George Eustice, the Environment Secretary, claimed the current NHS crisis would be “short-lived” and Grant Shapps, the Transport Secretary, said the situation was “not unusual” for winter.

Mr. Johnson has held his nerve despite calls for tougher restrictions to tackle Omicron, unlike his counterparts in Scotland and Wales, winning him praise from Tory MPs. …

In London, which is weeks ahead of the rest of the UK in its Omicron outbreak, hospital admissions fell for the fourth day in a row.

There were 367 Covid hospitalisations on January 4th, the latest date with data, marking a 20% fall on the previous week and the largest week-on-week drop yet.

Fewer than 400 people are now being admitted in the capital on average each day compared to around 900 at the peak of the second wave last January.

Signs that the crisis has peaked in just three weeks in London will raise hope that the situation in the rest of the country follows a similar trajectory.

Worth reading in full.

Pillar 2 positivity has also fallen for the first time (see chart below from Prof Anthony Brookes, plotted using Government data) – which, if it is a peak, is at a lower level than last year, despite ONS data suggesting community infection rates are much higher. This may be because of the much greater level of testing than a year ago, which was before LFTs were made widely available. Deaths currently remain 90% below last year’s peak.

A ‘cold’ has been chosen the best vehicle fo their ‘scamdemic’ ( see Fauci in a meeting on how to get the pubic to accept mass vaccination mandates).

It needed a little help from ‘gain of function’ inserts of course and for the willing Chinese to play along.

The end game has always been the forcing endless injections on the frightened, unsuspecting world. ( Again, see minutes of Fauci in discussion – RFKJ’ book: “The Real Anthony Fauci”)

Personally I think the spec was for a much more deadly design – more like cold x ebola. The sort of thing for which you don’t have to ask people to stay at home.

We are never told …only the dead ( by whatever means) seem to count… if they caught Covid in hospital – which is of course one of the the most likely places they will encounter it.

Equally as important is how many people are in hospital/ICU with a respiratory infection, and how this compares to pre covid numbers. In other words has covid simply replaced flu as the dominant seasonal respiratory illness, or does it exists in addition to a significant number of cases of flu and therefore is putting additional pressure on the NHS. My guess is that it’s the first scenario, but are the figures available to prove this?

Until the next “variant”

I have seen nothing to make me think that when – and it will be when – the next “variant of concern” appears, that we won’t go through the same motions.

They will put some measures in place to signal that they are doing something about it, like masks, vaccine passes in some venues etc..

They will declare that some measures are necessary, in order to be cautious, until it can be determined how pathogenic it is and whether it will overwhelm the health service.

The media will try to scare the crap out of everyone and people will go nuts taking tests, regardless of whether they are scared or not, because for some bizarre reason people have developed a compulsion to take tests to see if they have a virus.

A new booster will be promoted and touted as the key to making sure we can all remain “free”.

And this will be the cycle of madness that we are destined to endure for the rest of the days. At least there is no evidence to date to suggest that it won’t play out this way over and over again.

I used to track “daily new cases” in my state. I remember last year that “new cases” peaked on January 8th, 2021. So we seem to be having a repeat of when cases peak.

It’s quite interesting to see the ‘cases’ (cough… ‘Positive’ test graph), zoomed out like this.. And not only that is it nice to think that I’ve not contributed to it.

I would be interested to see where on this graph the government acted…eg, points of lockdown, mask orders and vaccine passport orders were introduced. I’d be intrigued also to see when injections were started and to see where that sat on the graph…

I admire Toby’s optimism in his belief that there’s nothing malevolent going on. I wish he’s correct, but I’m 99% certain he isn’t. Johnson and co. are just playing slowly, slowly, catchy monkey. He’ll have something up his sleeve for justification for the next stage of the plan. Of that I’m pretty sure.

Oh absolutely. Being a masochist, I went on the BBC website while in the toilet (smelled like shit, figured I’d go read some too).

The Iron Leader, who is “holding his nerve” has basically condemned all “antivaxx” discussion as “mumbo jumbo” and in the article he condemned unvaccinated, critical thinking adults as being irresponsible and selfish. Sounds like the next stage to really ramp up the hatred for the pure-bloods is already on it’s way.

Not entirely sure where we go from here. I’m hoping fatigue sets in with the public and slowly it becomes noise in the background, but I really suspect we’re up the proverbial creek.

@Free Lemming and Jeepybee. The card he has up is sleeve is already being played. The DS has just featured two reports where, apparently, ICU’s are packed out with the non-injected. The latest ICNARC Report says 60% while the Scottish IC Reports says 100% of pregnant women in ICU are non injected. This raises several questions. How is vax effectiveness suddenly showing such stunning results? The 60% figure coincides with uptake of third dose, and the degree of change shown in the graph (Fig 27) from November gives the appearance of the dose being 100% effective. The Scottish results also appear to show 100% effectiveness. This data ia going to spook resistors. It will also be used to justify extreme measures being deployed against us. Unless we find out how they rigged this data, its going to be game over for us.

One small step for a supermarket shopper, one giant leap for mankind.

We have to face the fact that there are many people who are either not prepared to give up their face masks or accept that face masks are largely ineffective. If only a few more brave people would risk removing them, for the greater good, (in areas where they are not compulsory) then perhaps this would send the right message to others. I would suggest starting with supermarkets where mask wearing in my experience is at least 90%. If people can take one small step from being fearful to fearless then we might just begin to return to normal.

They test for the flu since they’ve never isolated Covid-19. Which makes me wonder how they can tell there is a delta variant. They never isolated the virus but they use a test to show the damage of a solution does on monkey kidney cells then show the cellular debris as proof of the virus. So, they can use this method to claim an UNENDING! amount of variants. A lot of cancers and “viruses” are probably just different forms of parasites. Since the tests can’t differentiate between cold and flu and covid then doesn’t that mean ivermectin cures both the cold and the flu? Welcome to “they’ve been lying to us our entire lives about everything”. Get your Ivermectin while you still can! https://ivmpharmacy.com

I am genuinely interested. Where does the great reset go from here? A new variant? At the moment it feels like the world is moving on. Sure, lockdown had ruined the West and there’ll be economic meltdown in the coming years, but what’s next? The world isn’t even heating up quick enough for the climate change crowd to demand wholesale changes.

My highly sophisticated prediction model (based on pen and paper technology combined with previous world-wide evidence and a highly evolved neural network) reveals that the cases will be on the same level as in December within two weeks. The same model predicts that it will not shut up people who want to introduce further restrictions.

Might it also be due to the farce that paranoid daily testers can’t get hold of LFTs?

Do we know how much money the Government has “spaffed up the wall” handing out test kits to generate case numbers?

Dr.Paul Alexander has said omicron was the vaccine to end the pandemic and that indeed it is over. Stop vaccinating immediately. Dr. Geert Vanden Bossche states mass vaccinations during a pandemic is one of the worse things to do because of the pressure it places on the virus.

but hey let’s just keep doing what we have been doing. Going on our third year of just “doin” the same thing over and over and getting the same results. Anyone else had enough?
