Over-70s Are 10 Times Less Likely to Die With Covid Than Last Year

Analysis of official data by Professor Anthony Brookes, an expert in genetics and health data at the University of Leicester and a Daily Sceptic contributor, has shown that the risk of death from Covid for over-70s has decreased by tenfold compared to a year ago. Speaking to the Express, Prof Brookes said Covid no longer posed a significant threat to “the vast majority of people”.

We will not be in anything like the same place in January 2022 as we were in January 2021. Infected individuals are at dramatically less risk of becoming seriously ill or dying than a year ago. Over the last month the risk has been dropping further thanks to Omicron now accounting for around 95% of cases in England. Omicron is around four-fold less dangerous – it’s like nature’s vaccine. There has always been over a thousand fold difference in risk of serious illness or death between the old and the young. Currently the risk of death for the population as a whole is no worse than for seasonal influenza. For healthy children the risk is miniscule.

Younger people now have a higher risk of dying from a car crash in a whole year, than they do from COVID-19. Since their serious Covid risk is already very low, it is hard to identify any good reason for imposing or coercing youngsters to take on the known risks of vaccination. COVID-19 is progressively evolving to become another form of the common cold. Omicron takes us further down that path by reducing IFR at least three-fold. Would a normal society undertake mass testing and require isolation for the common cold?

His analysis, based on ONS infection survey data and death data, shows that at the start of the pandemic people over 70 had roughly a 10% risk of dying from COVID-19 if infected, but the infection fatality rate (IFR) has now fallen to 1-2% for this age group. The chart below, which owing to the three-week lag runs to the end of November, so does not cover the Omicron surge, has been supplied to the Daily Sceptic by Prof Brookes.

Professor Paul Hunter, an expert in infectious disease at the University of East Anglia, said:

There is no doubt the illness we are seeing now is less severe than at the start. We are seeing a big shift towards Covid becoming the common cold due to a range of factors including prior infection and vaccines. There is a point where we have to ask why are we testing and isolating people who just have a common cold?

What “normal” person would say that? (I’m referring to the Maurice Strong quote.)

I simply do not believe that there was ever a 17.5% chance of dying of covid for over-70s in January 2021. The actual death statistics, never mind basic intuition, do not bear this claim out.

They are back-filling with untruth to justify what is going on now.

The common man, unfortunately, cannot recall what happened two days ago, so will believe it all as absolute truth.

And whatever the calculated chance of dying last January, it was due to deliberate neglect, and malpractice, not severity of disease. Think of the success of Dr. Zelenko’s improvised treatment protocol.

We shouldn’t – like all Government and MS Media stats, they are selective distorted and dishonest, designed simply to advance a narrative and an agenda.

Brookes says the over 70’s had a 10% risk of dying ‘from’ covid if infected in early 2020. And he bases this conclusion on data from the regimes chief disinformation unit – the ONS. Thats like believing data from China. Going back to March of 2020: deliberately packing care homes with 25,000 sick people, a total cut off of doctors appointments, cancelling all doctors visits to care homes, blanket DNR’s, protocols that delayed or prevented emergency resposes, staff terrorised into fleeing their posts, fear, panic, isolation, neglect, dehydration, starvation, overuse of Midazolam etc resulted in thousands of needless care home deaths. These iatrogenic deaths were all, with the sweep of an administrators hand, categorised as covid deaths – which are now used to justify the actions taken. Moving on to later in the year, they repeated the same tactics, this time with added intubation. Its not suprising then, that with a now weakened population at a low ebb after months of being terrorised by the state, the death toll rose again. But now the Govt/NHS/ONS ‘covid’ death toll inflation tactics had reached new levels of sophistication. 1.    In September 2020 it was widely reported that experts from Oxford University found that… Read more »

PART II: A study published in the journal Circulation Research (31/3/21) by scientists from the prestigious Salk Institute found that the Sars Cov II spike protein, which is replicated by all the current injections, is a toxin. This goes some way to explaining why aggressive Covid 19 vaccination programs are nearly always followed by immediate sharp rises in supposed covid deaths. Using Our World in Data statistics, I can produce at least fifty graphs from different countries evidencing this phenomena.   This repeated pattern of death shortly after Covid 19 injection is why French virologist professor Luc Montagnier, who in 2008 together with Françoise Barré-Sinoussi was awarded the Nobel Prize for the discovery of the HI virus, stated that “In every country the death curve follows the vaccination curve.” (Interview given to Freeswestmedia.com)   Montagnier’s concerns were confirmed in an open letter dated 28/2/21 from leading doctors, scientists, academics and lawyers to the European Medicines Agency (see Doctors 4CovidEthics) after the sudden rise in deaths in nursing homes shortly after the residents had received their Covid injections. Signatories to the letter included: Professsor Sucharit Bhakdi MD, Professor Emeritus of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, Professor Martin Haditsch MD Specialist in Microbiology,… Read more »

This guy’s numbers seem off. There was always a much higher chance of a young person dying in a car/pedestrian accident, for example.

Meanwhile nobody died of a common cold or old fashioned ‘flu in the last two years.
I wonder how ONS missed those deaths which used to rack up 30/40,000 p.a.

Jon Garvey

What is called “infection fatality rate” here is surely actually “case fatality rate,” the same elementary error that Anthony Fauci made last year. The former has always been somewhere between 0.1% and 0.2%, and was ascertained by comparing “deaths from COVID” (probably itself overestimated) with antibody rates in the population early on in the pandemic.

That would be much harder to do now, as vaccines and multiple waves, together with variable decline in antibodies, make antibodies a poor guide to past infection.

Nevertheless, since Omicron is so much milder than other strains, we can expect the IFR to be much lower now, partly explaining the lower CFR (together with better treatment and the fact that the most vulnerable have already succumbed).

Errors or not, it’s looking very good medically – it’s just the politicians and the professions who think it’s still raining.

This is more proper ganda – ignoring a stack of evidence/ data showing how WHO’s shifting guidance on ‘cause of death’ and pressure and monetary incentives saw a massive increase in the death stats. From (a conservative) paper by Carl Heneghan et al. Sept 2020 ‘Overall about one in thirteen deaths with COVID-19 on the death certificate did not have the disease as the underlying cause of death; however, this proportion has risen substantially to nearly a third over the last eight weeks’…. bacterial pneumonia (see D. Rancourt paper), flu, and co morbidities shown to be main causes in many of the deaths. Truth can be shown but only those willing to look will see it.

I managed to be disciplined and avoided all Covid news over the Christmas break. Rude awakening on New Year’s day from a friend, who in a text told me of how he had had to be rushed to hospital with pericarditis*…I WONDER WHY? Timing of incident plus age of friend suggests to me that he might have had ‘his’ booster recently.

To be fair, although I only have a small group of friends this is the first major side effect I have been made aware of.

*inflammation of sack around the heart. Less serious than myocardities but still not a fun thing to get.

Sorry but a lot of this is due to vaccines (since the one group that definitely has more to gain from the risk of the vaccines is the elderly). I do believe Omicron is very much mild (do we even have any idea how many people have died specifically from Omicron Covid…I’m betting in double digits). But given that 98%+ of 70+ are now 3x jabs, you can’t ignore impact when looking at mortality for 70+.

That being said, he should be stopping all vaccination of under 30s now, so we can see the real impact of Omicron. And anyone still authorising vaccination for school age kids (I see you Whitty and Valance) should either pull its license or face criminal charges for any harm done to that age group. “But we have to do this to keep schools open!” Rarely wanted to punch a government official but I’d have paid money to join the queue after that lie.

Look at the figures. It was never that bad! Mortality largely followed the natural curve, even given the increase, reflecting the fact that older people die at a higher rate than the young. The one starling feature was the peak in nosocomial deaths, driven by a shit policy.

I am constantly amazed at how poor many scientists are at reading basic data.

The figures produced after FOI demands of councils to show numbers of cremations and burials in 2020 show that there was little in the way of ”excess deaths” anywhere.

“We are seeing a big shift towards Covid becoming the common cold due to a range of factors including prior infection and vaccines.”  Professor Paul Hunter. Can someone please show us the evidence that the experimental jab actually works. The jabs briefly increase anti-bodies to the spike protein but NOT to other parts of the virus. Soon after being jabbed people’s immune systems are compromised and they are more susceptible to viruses for a couple of weeks. Studies have shown negative effectiveness of those jabbed compared to the unjabbed. Long term, due to Original Antigenic Sin, Antibody Dependent Enhancement, Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome etc. plus all the other possible side effects from the experimental jab people will be potentially more ill from the jab than they would be from Covid. There are rogue batches of the jabs which are causing the most harm. People are playing Russian roulette with their lives depending on which batch they are jabbed with of which they have no choice. Around the world the number of reports of injuries and death from the jabs has been horrendous. Many studies show natural immunity is better than jab induced immunity. Pathologists have done autopsies where 90% of the… Read more »

“rogue batches of the jabs”

That’s possibly difficult to prove, but there will be a lot of folk who had vaccine shot straight into a vein rather than the shoulder muscle, due to the fashion within the NHS of eschewing ‘aspiration’ before injecting the fluid. That would deliver the vax to all areas of the body served by the bloodstream. Not what the makers intended.
Given that the height of jab-fever has seen Joe Bloggs and his dog ‘trained’ to administer vaccine, the potential for intravenous injections must have risen exponentially.
Being injected by this motley must be as advisable as buying life insurance from your postman.

From TPTB’s perspective, the rogue batches of the jabs are the ones in the bottles with numbers with —–/1, which are the saline solutions, and destined solely for their own special people.

A statistician who enjoys debunking “conspiracy theorists” was shocked when they trawled through the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) data to find that 95% to 96% of batches of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines had zero death reports made against them meaning all the 5,431 reported deaths at that time were associated with just 4% to 5% of specific batches of their vaccines.

Die of dog-bite, car crash, Luton defenestration, cancer, suicide by throat-cut, malaria, poisoning, whatever, and you will still have Covid on your death certificate, because doctors get £70 every time they get the chance. If after you go missing for the required period – five, seven years? – the court will be inundated with doctors anxious to collect their £70 by confirming that you died of Covid.
We all trust doctors now, don’t we?
Anyone there?

My first thought on reading that headline was: Well of course; so many over 70s have died in the last two years because of covid and governmental panic that the numbers would have to look better’.
Then I decided that Omicron is a gift horse whose mouth should not be inspected.

They test for the flu since they’ve never isolated Covid-19. Which makes me wonder how they can tell there is a delta variant. They never isolated the virus but they use a test to show the damage of a solution does on monkey kidney cells then show the cellular debris as proof of the virus. So, they can use this method to claim an UNENDING! amount of variants. A lot of cancers and “viruses” are probably just different forms of parasites. Since the tests can’t differentiate between cold and flu and covid then doesn’t that mean ivermectin cures both the cold and the flu? Welcome to “they’ve been lying to us our entire lives about everything”. Get your Ivermectin while you still can! https://ivmpharmacy.com
