Letter From a Teacher to the Conservative Party About Mask Mandates in Classrooms
A teacher forwarded this letter he wrote after he read about the decision to make masks compulsory in lessons for all children in English secondary schools. He sent it to the Chairman of his local Conservative Party Association. I’m sure he speaks for many Conservative members this morning.
Dear XXXXX,
If you could forward this to the relevant person, I would be very grateful.
I have always voted Conservative and I have also previously donated but I will never do either again.
This reintroduction of masks in classrooms is the last straw. I simply can’t see any future in which this doesn’t become an annual event, if you believe current conditions require it. As a teacher, I find this intolerable. Our pupils often leave home a little after 7 in the morning to travel by bus and return after 5pm. The winter weather does not often make it desirable to go outside. They will therefore have to wear these things for ten hours at a time, almost continuously. Three of the pupils I teach are partially deaf and they lip read. Their experience for the next few weeks will be awful, as they are denied normal interactions with their friends. More Generally, the effect on morale is draining. We are preparing them for their third winter in what seems deliberately orchestrated to feel like a state of emergency. Pupils who had barely left primary school when all this began are now preparing for GCSEs and this has been their experience for a large proportion of their lives. How are we supposed to motivate them to prepare for exams that they know may not happen? How can we ask them to look forward to a university experience that will most likely turn into a dull and expensive series of online videos? What sort of career can they look forward to if their qualifications may be assigned on the whim of their teachers and lack any credibility? Even the small pleasures and the things that make schools feel like communities are being taken away: discos, film nights, assemblies, carol concerts, expeditions. You won’t even let them see one another smiling. You have turned schools into hygienic factories and prolonged the emergency measures to a point where this feels permanent.
At what point do we accept that this is an endemic disease and that we need to move on from bizarre, largely symbolic, practices that seem disproportionately targeted at those in least danger? When do we acknowledge that we are as safe from this as we can ever be and it is not reasonable to ask people to exist like this?
At no point in my life have the actions of a government so directly affected my life, and in such a negative way. I would never have believed it would be a Conservative Government.
I will not be enforcing any of this in my lessons. Nor can I ever again justify supporting or voting for a candidate representing a party that would allow this to happen. I would appreciate it if you would remove me from your mailing list.

Unfortunately this decision has been driven by the teaching unions and the teaching unions alone. That the government have, pathetically, caved in to the demands of a few entitled twats, with leather patches on their elbows, who enjoy lording it over an audience that can’t question them, adds to the disgrace. I’m a secondary teacher and made very clear to my institution right at the start of this nonsense that masks were useless and harmful and I would not be wearing one nor asking children to in my department. I haven’t been challenged once about it which indicates to me that on some level, everyone knows they don’t work and aren’t needed. Mass psychosis in action.

That is called breaking their contract of employment, and the head of that school should be handing that teacher his/her P45.
This is true as it was when it was first introduced. At that time my children refused to wear masks in class of their own volition. They were both pulled from class and told that they would have to learn on their own in isolation under adult supervision if they would not wear a face covering. When I found out about this when they got home I immediately contacted the school (threatening legal action after contacting my solicitor – I was well aware it was non-statutory guidance as I had read the actual document) and wrote to my MP. The next day the headteacher asked my wife and myself to meet with him which we did. During this meeting, he re-stated that if our children refused to wear face coverings they would be isolated in a separate room where they would have to complete work by themselves under adult supervision. I asked what would happen if they were exempt to which the response was “That’s fine they can learn in class in that situation.” I explained that was discrimination and thus illegal to which the headteacher seemed puzzled. Next time when you have a similar issue go with your phone and record the full conversation. Obviously before the record inform the teacher that the discussion will be recorded. When my employer will mandate me the vaccination I will record all conversation with my boss also.

I still wouldn’t because the principles are back to front. If person A is not comfortable breathing in air that person B has recently breathed out then the onus is on person A to wear PPE (or stay at home) to protect themselves. It’s not the responsibility of person B to do anything to protect A from secondhand air. And it’s also not fair to suggest that B has a responsibility to protect Arr Ennaichess unless we are going to ration healthcare based on overall risk rather than need.
The main trade unions for the public sector are currently balloting members on strike action over pay (ie they want more money for their members but the employers side has refused to acquiesce). Ballots close early January. If a strike is supported, schools will probably close anyway for however long, and public services stop, likely just as the cold weather hits. Creating a perfect storm perhaps?

Not all universities did that. I delivered lectures online. I refused to allow them to be re-used, as did my colleagues. I want to be face-to-face with my students, not having them sit in front of screens all day.
I have heard from neighbours’ children that primary school lessons consisted of a half an hour Zoom call during which the “teacher” dispensed reading activities that the students should undertake during the day. No actual teaching took place. Yet they still received full pay. That contrasts with the university I work at, where lectures took place in full, albeit online.
One thinks of the Annual Festive Season RMT safety strike, whish oddly, money always sorts out.
The most important part of the letter is where he announces that he will not be enforcing the mask rule.
That sort of commitment to action is the only way out. And it is when the government see enough of that sort of disobedience that it will cease with this systematic abuse of the population.

I work in schools, not teaching staff, the kids pull their masks of regularly, it’s soffucating them that’s why, who wouldn’t, when they do they get shouted at, disgusting, staff are terrified of losing their jobs that’s why they impose the rules of course, it’s like Stalins Russia, but without the humour.
Sometimes I feel like shouting take the things off but jobs are hard to come now as they willfully destroyed the economy, government are in thrall to dark forces I fear, they have to go, all of them, it’s evil.

Are masks compulsory or is this simply guidelines? If guidelines then the schools can simply reject them. If compulsory what legislative act makes them so? What is the enforcement mechanism?
if anything less than a legal requirement then it is optional and I suggest making that clear to the schools and that your children won’t be complying.

I’ve done the same although I have never been a member. I wrote to my MP and stated very clearly that I will be campaigning against him at the next election and will never vote Tory again. I also briefly stated my reasons for my decision.
They have not for one-second thought about the mental health of people, the damage they have done to society, the destruction they have wreaked and the untold tens of thousands they have handed a death warrant both now and in the very long term future. They didn’t even force the NHS to reform and fix the issues.
Re the NHS.. I’d like them to explain why, if in a health crisis, the government have been reducing bed capacity while the population has been growing. Exactly the same health policies have been enacted in France.. massive bed reduction..

So they keep the hospitals are overworked narrative alive. I was talking to a nurse who works at the QE hospital in Gateshead. She told me they closed around 30% of wards. Then the local news claimed the QE was running at full capacity. When in reality it was more like 70%.

I am in great distress right now. Its my son’s GCSE’s this summer. He is highly self-motivated and has got up early every day of the holidays to revise. He is eager to be part of the academic and cultural life of society and has complied with the masks at school because he did not want to make anyone feel awkward and does not want to stand out as he is shy. Not because he thinks they do any good. A couple of days ago he finally admitted to me that they make him feel breathless.
I am dreading telling him that he is going to be suffocated for 8 hours a day for at least a month.

It couldn’t be clearer that your son is exempt from wearing a mask under the law. See “people for whom putting on, wearing or removing a face covering will cause severe distress” on this page at http://www.gov.uk. All that is required to be exempt are the words “I am exempt”, and I can confirm that that works when challenged by the police. Of course I realise this is difficult for a child in a school situation, but there is no choice now. It’s time for good people who wouldn’t normally cause any trouble to act. How about printing copies of that page from gov.uk, highlighting the relevant section, and handing a copy to anyone who doesn’t seem to be aware of the rules?
Hi Chris, thank you so much for your reply. We have always known that he could claim exemption. I myself have never worn the mask. I have urged him to claim exemption. I have had several, lengthy discussions with various members of staff about the harms masks cause. I was informed that I was the only parent in the school to do so. Compliance at the school is very high and the demonisation of dissidence is pervasive. The school is truly covidian and dissent is treated as selfishness and stupidity. My son is dedicated, hard working and high achieving and does not want to be perceived that way, quite understandably. It is a paradigmatic wall that is impossible to breach. I went to the school Christmas Concert in December and got a taste of what happens to dissenters. I was the only maskless person. I could feel the scorn from everyone else. My daughter’s private prep school near Swindon is the same. Or rather the parents are . Wet farts .Wealthy wet farts too. The worst kind of wet fart .We did not go to the Carol Concert as we did not want to look at a load of weird masked faces trying to sing … still, the school could go its own way on these things but it just does not. Fuck ’em all is my attitude – one that is probably not that helpful. But fuck them, allof them , really , what a bunch of herberts. It is absolutely vital for everyone to challenge this mask bs by refusing to wear one. There is no excuse at all for adults putting up with this. I realise it’s much more difficult for children, and really unfair to ask them to face down authority in this way, but surely if they stick together, they could do it? The other day I was in a shop and 50% of the customers were bare-faced. We can beat this. We have to beat it.

Ever since this nonsense began, now nearly 2 years ago, I have never worn a mask and refuse to do so. I have not even bought one. I do have a neck band which I pull over my head and only partially cover my mouth on any fleeting visit to a shop or the cinema, but I always pull it down to speak and once in the cinema,seated, just keep the band around my neck. Even in a shop etc more often than not the band is around my neck. In any case I never have it over my nose as I wear specs and it is intolerable. Unfortunately circumstances has necessitated several visits to GP and hospital with my wife and I adopt the same policy. When talking to the staff, (who often are not wearing a mask) we remove any cover to the mouth.

My wife is also a school teacher. She is demoralized knowing she has at least another month of policing mask-wearing among her students.
She doesn’t have to police it, she has a choice, perhaps she could ask the head for their completed risk/benefit assessment.

This is an excellent letter. I have copied it to my MP in the hope that he may read it and join the Conservative rebels. Probably that’s a vain hope, but we must at least try. If only Boris had an equivalent pair to deal with the teachers’ union as Mrs Thatcher did with the miners!
I retired from teaching in my mid-fifties and have thought about going back into the classroom as a supply teacher just to cause havoc. I’d be quite happy to dispel the Covid myth, face mask bollocks and the rest to any classes I came across. Likewise, give my fairly right wing views on immigration and the bollocks that is climate change. I daresay I would be found out quite quickly and asked to leave/not be asked back, but it would be worth it if just a few students took notice.
I’m glad my kids are no longer at school so I don’t have to deal with this madness.
I remember vividly when my kids were at school that we weren’t allowed to take them out of school for any reason, especially not holidays, unless it was an emergency or sanctioned by the head teacher. Apparently even missing a single day of education would be a disaster for the child and they’d never catch up.
But now for some reason on the say so of an inaccurate test, or a frightened head teacher, or if you have genuine cold symptoms (not covid) it’s ok to send pupils home, and even close entire classes, years or schools.
And mandating masks is madness, as they don’t work and cause harm.
Another thing I remember is that schools were very, very reluctant to administer any medication to school children – even prescribed medication. They didn’t even allow kids to take it into school to take themselves. They absolutely avoided any medical intervention if possible, but now they are requiring invasive medical interventions such as nasal swabs and masks (which are being used as medical devices).
Taking children out of schools is the way to go. You dont get a second chance with this stuff. The schools are abusing the children, plain and simple. Imagine someone trying to suffocate your kid all day long and you being OK with that and still sending them to the place where they do it. Trouble is, my son loves school. We tried to emigrate from the UK as a family last winter. We ended up coming back after a few months. Mainly because my son lost everything that gives him his sense of meaning in life. He felt completely alienated and bereft.

No this is a situation where you have to put your foot down – unless you want your child to grow up to be a trained programmed dumbed down product of the scum running the British state. You have to see this more long term than predictable issues during transition. Home schooling is one option – but there are others. Some schools are not so Nazified – Forest Schools for example. Also in the wake of all this madness Co-Operative schools are poppping up all over the place – parents setting up their own schools in response to the tyranny. Send them to the place where they are normalising medical experiments and forcing them to wear masks all day long – but dont be surprised when youre sat on a hospital ward because of issues that arise from being forced to wear a mask all day every day which CAN lead to major complications.
