Wales to Tighten Covid Restrictions Immediately After Christmas

On December 27th, the Welsh Government will introduce a series of new Covid restrictions which include shutting nightclubs, mandating that shops abide by social distancing protocols for both staff and customers, as well as bringing back work from home requirements. First Minister Mark Drakeford has declared that the spread of the Omicron variant necessitates this course of action, calling it “the most serious development in the pandemic to date”. MailOnline has more.

Until December 27th, the Welsh Government is encouraging people to follow five steps: getting vaccinated, making sure to have a negative lateral flow test result before going shopping or meeting people, meeting in well-ventilated areas (preferably outdoors), spacing out socialising to allow test days in between, and adhering to social distancing, wearing a face covering and washing hands.

It is also urging people to reduce contact with others over the coming days, especially if Christmas plans include seeing older or more vulnerable people.

First Minister Mark Drakeford said: “Delta will continue to be the main cause of Covid infections in Wales up to Christmas. But we are seeing cases of Omicron increasing rapidly every day in Wales, and across the U.K.

“We need a plan to keep us safe this Christmas and we need stronger measures to protect us afterwards, as we prepare for a large wave of Omicron infections.

“Omicron poses a new threat to our health and safety. It is the most serious development in the pandemic to date.

“It is one we must take seriously. We will continue to put in place proportionate measures to protect people’s lives and livelihoods.

“This is a virus which thrives on human contact. Every contact we have is an opportunity for us to spread or catch the virus.”

The changes for businesses comes with the announcement that up to £60 million will be available to support those affected by the new measures.

He added: “This year a smaller Christmas is a safer Christmas. The fewer people we see, the less chance we have of catching or passing on the virus.

“Please enjoy Christmas with your nearest and dearest, and think about meeting up with wider circles of friends when the threat posed by the Omicron variant has passed over.

“I also want to thank the many thousands of people who will be working this Christmas to keep us safe, especially all those who have cancelled their plans to work in the vaccination centres across Wales to increase our protection against this awful virus.”

The restrictions come after Prime Minister Boris Johnson insisted today that the Government does not want to “lock stuff down” in England.

Instead, he urged Britons to “prioritise” social events, get a booster and do a lateral flow test before meeting people.

I just can’t bring myself to read this irrational, illogical nonsense any more.

If you believed it was so contagious, how could leaving it 10 days be acceptable to a covidiot? Same as England mandating vaccines for NHS staff, after the whuflu season ends, where the vaccines apparently only last 2 months.

Is this “The Science“?

Mass hypnosis/psychosis, whatever you want to call it.

There is clearly a human trait which is completely, independent of intelligence as we generally understand it, that makes some people be more susceptible to believing bullshit, their own or that of others.

This trait isn’t something our society has paid much attention too but it clearly should, because it obviously has the potential to create enormous harm.

I see mostly in people who follow the authorities or think the authorities are to be followed. (authoritarian person)

Contrary to the expectation I see this happening mostly with people with high education and high positions! Not uneducated and low level positions!

Why? I think because these people are also in a position of authority and if they put out any order they expect people below them to follow also without question. So if they disobey the government and question authority their own little position gets shaken also.

Nothing wrong with following true authorities when there’s reasonable chance that the authorities know better than you. After all, we do it all the time, as a matter of professional specialization.

However, what people don’t seem to realize is that in this particular situation the authorities are just as uninformed, and possibly more likely to be misled and entangled in various conflicts of interest than an average person with their “street smarts”.

In other words, those people raining ominous recommendations on you are not really authorities – they just pretend to be because that is the role the society has assigned to them – for better or worse.

“Omicron poses a new threat to our health and safety. It is the most serious development in the pandemic to date.”

These lies really are becoming too much. South Africa has six weeks of dealing with an omicron wave and they have told the world it’s much less dangerous than delta and they’re not going to have any changes in their healthcare policy to deal with it. Meanwhile, Drakeford says the above. If British politicians aren’t running scared, they ought to be.

Sorry. Just wanted to make sure this wasn’t another seemingly triumphant silver bullet that is then equally triumphantly squashed.

‘making sure you have a negative lateral flow test before going shopping or meeting people’.

Yes, what a sensible measured precaution. If anything it doesn’t go far enough. Everybody should take a lateral flow test every waking hour of the day. The government should mail them out to every man woman and child in the kingdom. Masks should be worn whilst sleeping. In fact, fuck it, people should have to wake up in the middle of the night to have a lateral flow test. No one should come within 250 yards of anyone else. Every door should be welded shut, forever. People should wear a sealed plastic bag covering their entire head. Vaccine boosters should be taken monthly, weekly, daily, hourly ok people should just be hooked up to a permanent drip of booster. What else. TV must be always on and permanently tuned to the BBC news. Other than that, merry christmas. Oh, don’t exchange gifts. or cards. Or share a meal. Otherwise, enjoy.

It would be best if everyone could wear a bracelet or watch which tests the blood continuously and delivers a live stream of data to the health office. If any sign of virus is detected, you should be automatically locked down in your “smart home” (which in the future is remote controlled by your government, of course). Just give it a few years.

Was showing a colleague the news about another three footballers taken off the pitch with breathing difficulty in the last week. Another colleague overheard and said ‘that’ll be covid’ to which I responded ‘no, it’s vaccine damage and they need to stop lying about jab safety’ and his response?

Brace for this…

He said footballers shouldn’t expect to have long careers anyway because of the physical strain and the jabs are worth the risk because covid is pretty much a guaranteed death sentence!
Some are so far beyond reach it’s hard to comprehend.

And in most reports of players ‘having covid’ when you read the full account it was simply that they, like the majority of ‘cases’, had a positive test result so weren’t even symptomatic. When you try explaining to people the difference between ‘covid’ and SARS CoV2, and the misuse of the term ‘cases’ you can see their eyes glaze over.

David Beaton

PCR tests are a total fraud – a ‘positive’ test is npt an infection – they cannot detect a live virus and at the 40 cycles used by the NHS to amplify the results they are 97% ‘false positives’

This has bee a fake Drosten PCR pandemic from the very start. They have upped PCR test numbers to create the OMICRON Fake figures .

People are now so gullible and clueless – I suspect that 30 yeacvrs ago they cold not have got away with this enormous scam – the population was more canny..

Serious question. I have had zero jabs, so in order to be considered as fully vaccinated for the purposes of a passport, do I have to have all three? And when the booster runs out of efficacy, will I have to go for all four?

This question has been asked around the interwebs in a jokey manner, but there is a serious issue here. If you have to have all the jabs, does that not suggest a course of treatment rather than vaccination? A course of genetic therapy, and what is the end point?

DanClarke

I’m not thinking for a nano second of being a participant in the clinical trial. But it’s a serious question. Why would anyone need to have all three jabs?
