Unvaccinated Close Contacts Must Self-Isolate Under New Rules, Which The Double Jabbed Can Avoid If They Test Negative

Under new rules, which will be implemented by the Government this Tuesday, double vaccinated close contacts of Covid cases will not have to self-isolate if they receive a negative test – an option which isn’t open to the unvaccinated. In addition, those who are double jabbed but initially test negative will be recommended to take daily lateral flow tests for the next seven consecutive days. BBC News has the story.

Those who test positive, develop symptoms, or are unvaccinated should self-isolate for 10 days.

But people will not need to isolate if the tests remain negative and they have had at least two vaccine doses.

It means people in close contact with suspected or confirmed Omicron variant cases no longer always need to isolate.

NHS lateral flow tests – which are available in boxes of seven – are free from pharmacies or via online order.

The Government said the change in guidance “aims to reduce pressures on people’s everyday lives by replacing the requirement for Omicron contacts to isolate for 10 days”.

Anyone who has a positive result from a rapid test should take a confirmatory PCR test to verify the result, as well as continue to self-isolate.

They do not need to continue taking rapid tests during the isolation period.

If the PCR result comes back negative, contacts can leave self-isolation but should continue to take rapid lateral flow tests for the remainder of the seven days.

This change follows a significant rise in Omicron cases across the U.K. with the new variant expected to become the dominant strain by mid-December.

The latest Omicron case numbers on Sunday show 1,239 new daily cases, bringing the total number of Omicron cases in the UK to 3,137 – although the real number is estimated to be much higher.

Health and Social Care Secretary Sajid Javid said: “We are taking this proportionate and more practical measure to limit the impact on people’s day-to-day lives while helping to reduce the spread of Omicron.”

The Government says this new advice will be in guidance rather than law initially, but this will be kept under review.

So… you test positive… but you don’t need to isolate? What a joke. This is engineered to create even more hatred towards the unvaccinated.

No, you still have to self-isolate if you test positive, even if vaccinated. But if you are unvaccinated, the government will punish you by making you self-isolate even if you test negative. Unless you have a “valid medical reason” why you can’t be vaccinated. Of course we all know the covid tests work differently according to you vaccination status and medical history. Not. You could make this nonsense up!

“Unvaccinated adults are not eligible for this new policy and must self-isolate for 10 days if they are a contact of a positive coronavirus case – whether Omicron or not.
But daily testing does apply to people who can prove they are unable to be vaccinated for clinical reasons.”

Depends what is meant by “prove”. I suspect it’s a mealy mouthed use of language. They can’t undo the HR Act 1998, so one should be able to declare a decision not to use some kind of treatment, with no need for any third party approval. In other words, declare ‘exemption’. The other side wouldn’t have a leg to stand on.

Karren Brady seems gangster connected. Not only is she a former aide to Alan Sugar, but she’s also the vice-chairman of West Ham United, a position she filled when the club was taken over by David Gold – the figure from an East End criminal family who owns Ann Summers – and his fellow pornographer David Sullivan.

She can come and try to obstruct me going to the shops if she thinks she’s hard enough.

To rephrase the rules: if you are compliant (jabbed) you may isolate if you choose (think public sector on full pay) but if it isn’t in your interests don’t bother. However the non-compliant (unjabbed) must self isolate whether positive or not.

John

stewart

Reply to  John

You’re compliant because you were scammed with the first two when they told you they would protect you but don’t because it’s turned out you’ve “needed” a third. And presumably you are of sound mind and realise there will be more. In short you are compliant with a regime of so called vaccinations that has no clear end.

With whom? With the government, for starters, which conned you into getting jabs that don’t do much for you. And if you believe someone is directing the government or the government is being used by some other powerful interest group, then you’re compliant with them too.

Hope that clarifies it for you.

There was a time when my stance would have been “do as you like, it’s none of my business” but as our society has decided to allow the discrimination of those who don’t get covid jabs, then.. it’s kind of war now.

rayc
rayc

Reply to  stewart

While it is true that the mixing of vaccination status and discrimination policies is a thoroughly scummy development, you should not forget that most vaccinated don’t care either way and some are even against them.

Whether or not someone “needs” the booster from a medical viewpoint is logically completely independent from the politics around it or even how well the vaccination has performed for them so far.

The fact that another (and another, and another) vaccination is needed has no bearing on the legitimacy of the previous vaccinations. If you think otherwise, you should also complain about the “scam” perpetrated by filling stations everytime your car runs out of fuel. There were no promises whatsoever that protection from vaccination would last forever.

ChrisDinBristol
ChrisDinBristol

Reply to  rayc

Ummm no – false analogy. You KNOW that you have to refill your car periodically. You do NOT expect a vaccine to need refilling every few months. A vaccine is not a car, and this is not a vaccine. We were told that vaccinating the vulnerable would end all this, but now we have to jab every single body 3 or 4 times a year and still have all the crap. If this was a car it would be a trebant sold as a Mercedes.

So the PM is addressing the nation again tonight. The panic level has been raised to 4, whatever that means. Does anyone else see this as a cynical attempt to stymie the rebellion due to take place on Tuesday?

Some observations that I came across today in the comments sections whilst perusing MSM:
-We don’t know enough as yet about the moronic variant as the data is not yet in BUT we already know that a Pfizer booster will give you 75% protection against this new variant (the one that we don’t know much about)
-It was plastered over the front pages today that those who received the AZ jab earlier this year, have zero protection against the Moronic variant. AZ is a viral vector jab, I believe. They will need the Pfizer booster which will be their 1st mRNA jab. We were told early on that one mRNA jab did not provide full protection and we have seen since then that this protection wanes over time so another jab is needed, followed by a booster. Does this mean that those who’ve received two AZ jabs last year will need a further 3 Pfizer jabs now?

Star
Reply to  Margaret

It looks like mRNA all the way now – and the gap between supposed emergence of a “new variant” and the campaign to inject the population with a “new, improved” vaccine against it will SHORTEN.
And I repeat, mRNA all the way.
That combination should scare the crap out of people.
Lightning fast mRNA. Here comes the latest Greek letter. Here comes the pi-fighting or rho-fighting mRNA “vaccine” straight into your arm. No messing about.

As for

“So the PM is addressing the nation again tonight. The panic level has been raised to 4, whatever that means. Does anyone else see this as a cynical attempt to stymie the rebellion due to take place on Tuesday?”

That’s not the overall reason. It may be a reason for the timing, but I am not sure it’s even that. We’ll know more when we hear what Johnson says at 8pm.

COVID Vaccine Necessity, Efficacy and Safety
https://doctors4covidethics.org/covid-vaccine-necessity-efficacy-and-safety-3/

Initial experience might suggest that the adenovirus-derived vaccines (AstraZeneca/Johnson & Johnson) cause graver adverse effects than the mRNA (Pfizer/Moderna) vaccines. However, upon repeated injection, the former will soon induce antibodies against the proteins of the adenovirus vector. These antibodies will then neutralize most of the vaccine virus particles and cause their disposal before they can infect any cells, thereby limiting the intensity of tissue damage.

In contrast, in the mRNA vaccines, there is no protein antigen for the antibodies to recognize. Thus, regardless of the existing degree of immunity, the vaccine mRNA is going to reach its target—the body cells. These will then express the spike protein and subsequently suffer the full onslaught of the immune system. With the mRNA vaccines, the risk of severe adverse events is virtually guaranteed to increase with every successive injection. In the long term, they are therefore even more dangerous than the vector vaccines. Their apparent preferment over the latter is concerning in the highest degree; these vaccines are not safe.

They are deliberately confusing people about the difference between transmissibility and virulence and what it means for the latest scary Greek letter to become “dominant”.

Sure the difference between transmissibility and virulence may be in the 10th paragraph of an article somewhere, but few read that far.

And for all the nearly two years of bullshit, they have said little of any worth about how people can really keep their immunity strong against viruses and in particular those that can cause respiratory illness. Washing your hands is fine but it won’t do much for you if you’ve got a BMI of 30 and get little exercise or fresh air.

Tactically it may not be so stupid.
Serving us with notices saying “here’s your vaccination call-up appointment and the alternative is prison” would spur many of us to burn the notices in the street and then either go underground or try to fill the prisons (or the camps that would also be needed, because there isn’t enough space in prison).
This current turn of the ratchet might get ignored as you say, but it helps pave the way for the next one insofar as it’s unlikely to provoke (and I hope I am wrong about this) large-scale “in your face” physical opposition. Soon that will come, but not in response to this specifically. They’ll have focus-grouped it anyhow. It’ll be interesting to see what Johnson says to camera later this evening.

In a way, it’s disappointing that natural immunity is so broad and long-lasting. It would be interesting to get each new dominant variant as it comes along, in order to compare and contrast each of them. Whatever I got at the end of July (Delta?) was quite interesting.
