The Evidence That Vaccine Passports Are Worse Than Useless

As the scale of the Commons rebellion over the Government’s imposition of ‘Plan B’ measures grows ahead of the vote on Tuesday, at the Daily Sceptic we thought we’d take a look at the evidence for vaccine passports.

Regrettably, the measures are likely to pass regardless of the size of rebellion owing to Labour support, but the number of rebels currently looks large enough to mean the Government will be relying on opposition votes – yet another sign of Boris Johnson’s weakness and the precariousness of his position.

The Government’s ‘Plan B’ measures include expanding the mask mandate to most indoor venues except hospitality and the reintroduction of guidance to work from home. But by far the most egregious aspect is the introduction of vaccine passports for nightclubs and larger venues, the first time these have been imposed in England. If the vote passes, the passports will be mandatory from Wednesday.

The Scottish Government last month published a report which supposedly backed up the case for continued use of vaccine passports north of the border, first introduced on October 1st. The Spectator‘s data journalist Michael Simmons went through it, however, and found its case paper-thin. It provided no evidence that vaccine passports increased vaccine uptake, stating: “The rate of overall increase in first and second doses, has been similar across four U.K. nations”. Indeed, following introduction of the passes, uptake in England actually outpaced that in Scotland among adults (passports did not apply to children), increasing 1.6% in England to Scotland’s 1.3%.

Simmons points out that according to the latest ONS data, as of November 15th, 95.3% of adults in England have antibodies to SARS-CoV-2, slightly higher than in Scotland where it’s 95%, despite the vaccine passes. It’s hard to see how these could get much higher, however draconian the vaccine coercion becomes.

Vaccine uptake is also significantly lower among ethnic minorities and less affluent groups, meaning vaccine passports will disproportionately disadvantage these groups.

Vaccine uptake in Scotland as of August 24th 2021 (AuditScotland)

The House of Commons Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee released a report in June concluding there was “no justification for Covid passports”.

Several countries including France, Germany, Ireland and Italy have introduced vaccine passports for entry to venues such as nightclubs, restaurants and places with large crowds. Looking at the rates of reported infections in these countries since the passes were introduced (see above), and comparing them to Portugal, Spain and Sweden where vaccine passports are not mandated, there is no obvious impact visible. Indeed, the three countries with the worst rates are passport countries – though note that raw ‘case’ rates need to be treated with caution, e.g. the recent upward trend in Sweden is not present in the positive test rate, which has been largely flat for the past month. Nonetheless, a similar lack of impact can be seen in the positive test rates.

A comparison of ONS-estimated infection rates in England and in Wales, where vaccine passports were brought in on October 11th, shows a similar lack of impact. Indeed, the infection rate in Wales has been trending higher than in England over the period (though note the confidence intervals for Wales are wide).

This real-world evidence of lack of impact of vaccine passports on infection rates is not actually very surprising in light of the UKHSA raw data which shows infection rates higher in the vaccinated than the unvaccinated in many age groups, and the accumulating evidence that vaccines do not reduce viral load or transmission.

All-in-all there is no evidence that vaccine passports make any appreciable difference to the spread of COVID-19 that might justify even theoretically the costs they incur for businesses and the harms they inflict on the unvaccinated particularly, and also on the vaccinated who are deprived of the company or services of the unvaccinated. There is also no evidence they increase vaccination rates once vaccination is already at a high level. Yet they create a ‘papers please!’ society that discriminates and segregates people and particularly disadvantages ethnic minorities and the less affluent. So it’s all pain for no gain. So what’s the point?

When has this government cares about actual facts during Covid? They have a mesh moved on models and assumptions. How’s that working out?

Models told us to lockdown or else, when data showed the epidemic peaked before its start. We still stayed in lockdown months longer.

Models and assumptions are masks save lives. Real world data shows no such thing and that the costs are actually pretty high.

Models and assumptions made him think more vaccination among more people was sound policy. Data shows that for those under 40 the efficacy is so low compared to risks both from vaccines and Covid that it shouldn’t be done. He chose to keep pushing the age downward, perhaps to 5 soon.

Models tell him passports work. Data shows they don’t are illogical given know vaccine data, and are costly. Anyone want to guess what comes next?

I’m a data geek and thankfully have friends here in Oxford to help me understand what doesn’t quite compute. Had an actual data person or a real epidemiologist like Professor Gupta been on board we would be Sweden today. Sadly we have the Giant Guesser as PM.

I have a friend who lives and breathes data, statistics, graphs, and comparing them against each other, and digging deep into each tiny part and pulling it to pieces. He has been compiling a spreadsheet of it all since at least the summer of 2020, but what he plans to do with it, I have no idea.

You need friends to help you compute this BS? 🤔

Here’s a few very basic clues:

1. Average age of covid death is higher than average UK life expectancy.

2. 2020 was a ‘normal’ year for excess deaths.

3. PCR is not a reliable diagnostic tool.

4. Jab manufacturers given indemnity from litigation.

5. MSM blanket censorship on any anti-governmental dissent.

6. Losing your job for refusing an intrusive medical intervention.

7. Emergency use authorization given to an experimental mRNA jab.

8. MHRA yellow card records nearly 2,000 vaccine related deaths.

9. Experimental jabs offered to children who have virtually zero risk from covid, but a substantial risk of adverse vaccine reaction.

10. Not one peer reviewed study proves face nappies stop transmission.

Nice to see a sensible rounding up. You don’t need to spend months peering into statistics and numbers of every country round the world, to see the bleedin’ obvious. It’s a scam, millions have been had, and those who haven’t are trapped anyway.
I think everything now depends on how many people take the 3rd ‘booster’, and whether parents will allow their 0-11 year old kiddies to get jabbed. Also how seriously the English vaxx pass for domestic use is taken.
Less than 2 weeks to Christmas! Tesco boycott still ongoing?

For a while I thought things would turn when it came to the 3rd poke. Not anymore. Here in NL people are just accepting it as perfectly normal, some people are even running off to Germany or France to get their 3rd poke as the roll-out has been slow.

They were interviewing some woman, I’d say around 60 odd, who had gone to Germany to get a booster. She was saying how loads of people around her in their 40s and 50s were getting the lurgy and still getting very ill and suffering from long covid – and they had been fully vaccinated. So she really wanted her booster. I just stared at the tv screen for about 2 minutes after that – did the silly woman not even hear what she just said? They’ve been fully poked and still got very ill, so I’m desperate to get the same poke again?

Unfortunately we may have to wait until poke 4 or 5 for more people to start waking up – if, as they are now advising, that will come in 3 months, some people might be more inclined to realise they’ve been had.

Yes, yes!! That was exactly the look on my face when the lady was talking about her great desire to get her booster. 🙂

I genuinely don’t care if people want to get 1, 2, 3 boosters, a booster every month, every week, every day, one of each just to be sure – to each their own and I have no desire to make determinations about someone else’s health and what they believe is in their best interests.

I just want them to show me the same respect and switch on their brains to the extent that if they really believe so fervently in their vaxx, they shouldn’t be in the least concerned whether I or anyone else has it, as they at least will be perfectly safe.

On GB News lunchtime show with Alastair Stewart today, psychologist Professor Gary Cooper extolled the “negative” virtues of the vaccine passport scheme because the passports imply you have a choice :
“choose not to have the vaccine and you cannot do X or Y or Z”

So it is only about punishment and coercion and not about health – and he seems to think that is a good thing.

Big downvote for Alastair Stewart and his GB news programme. Mark Dolan or Dan Wooton would not have taken that line.

Mark Dolan interviewed Beverly Turner on his show last night. the tow of them totally smashed it. Were you watching Alastair????

You have to realize with which kind of stupid, uninformed and superstitious people we have to deal here: Yesterday, there was a talking session re: what to do about the omicron tsunami (a rather bonsai tsunami so far) on the BBC during which one lady, with a perfectly straight face, said “We just have to inject everyone with a fresh dose of immunity!”

Someone so thoroughly clueless about the purpose and functioning of vaccines and vaccinations wouldn’t recognize a medical fact if it bit her in the nose. The lady is (in this respect) obviously living in a fantasy world with preciously few contact points with observable reality. And these are the kind of people who drive public opinion.

Why does DS persist in acting bewildered about this? It’s been a persistent idea that Toby has pushed all along, that the medical evidence doesn’t justify the imposition of vaccine passports. The implication of this line of thinking is that if the medical evidence did justify vaccine passports, that would be ok. No it wouldn’t though, that’s the thing.

Agreed. That’s the mistake in trying to avoid justifying them on health grounds – the data controllers will always be able to manipulate the figures to suit their narrative and most of the public will believe them. Surely freedom of choice to take the ‘vaccine’ and what passports will lead to, is a greater argument? Toby is either still in denial, given the scale of the scam or is fearful of censure and closure of this site.

And why can’t your National Insurance number be used for this? Everybody has one. All the ‘Vaxx Pass’ is is a number with your name on it. Your name and number have been digitalised years ago. Got a Passport? Driving Licence? How do people claim Social Security, Unemployment benefits? – the ‘authorities’ know who you are already.
The difference is that a ‘Vaxx Pass’ will probably be used for scanning yourself into buildings and onto public transport – smartphones have been the perfect slavery collar – you will be tracked and receive your instructions from Big Brother via your phone. Make sure the battery doesn’t run out!

Twentieth century history shows what happens when we have an “us and them” situation.

Major Panic in the jabby jabbys

we know that covid vaccines do not prevent people catching or spreading the virus that is believed to cause covid and lets just pretend that the tests were 100% effective….

Vaccine passports make venues more likely to allow spread because the vaccinated could have and spread the virus although, with the above assumption, the unvaccinated cannot spread something the test shows they do not have.

So vaccine passports could easily facilitate ‘super spreader’ events where as an effective test for all entering would prevent it (unfortunately there isn’t one) – therefore, for vaccine passport events – the least likely to spread what ever the tests detect are the unvaxxed

So it’s all pain for no gain. So what’s the point?

The point is the few in control want everyone vaxed with their toxic crap to cull the sheeple. They also want all the serfs to have a digital passport /ID so that once they destroy the value of current fiat currencies, also destroying any wealth you have, they will bring in a new digital currency and thereby issue you with your rations via the digital id.
They wills also monitor everything you do and where you go – nightclubs etc are just the thin end of the wedge. It’ll end up being papers please to go anywhere.

Don’t tow the line? Surf the wrong websites? Congregate with the wrong people? Not getting your quarterly clot shot?
They will switch off your rations, or worse…….
