Ex-MI6 Chief Richard Dearlove says Britain’s Science Sector has Been Compromised by “Malign Chinese Communist Influence”

The U.K.’s science sector has been compromised by a “malign Chinese communist influence” and, for that reason, parroted China’s party line that Covid did not leak from a lab in Wuhan, according to an ex-MI6 chief. MailOnline has more.

Sir Richard Dearlove, head of the intelligence service from 1999 to 2004, believes many universities in the U.K. have become dependent on Chinese funding over the past two decades.

While urging institutions to take “greater steps to protect intellectual property”, he expressed concern over the extent to which Britain echoed a potential ‘information’ campaign from China following the coronavirus outbreak in December 2019.

Since China alerted the world to a mysterious virus circulating in Wuhan in December 2019, a debate has been raging over its true source.

The Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), which specialises in manipulating dangerous coronaviruses, is the high-security laboratory at the centre of an alleged cover-up.

Sir Richard, 76, told a podcast for the Australian: “In the future, we will have to take very careful steps to control this in terms of registering where Chinese research students go and what their interests are, and take greater steps to protect intellectual property in our universities, particularly in areas of sensitive research.”

He added: “I’m pretty sure that the Chinese after the outbreak in Wuhan, and they’re very good at doing this, sat down and developed their own information campaign and this was almost certainly driven by the Ministry of State Security and run out of the PRC leadership to make sure that there was suppression of any suggestion that their narrative was not the correct one,” Sir Richard said in the podcast.

“What concerns me and what worries me is the extent to which the West went along with this.”

“dependent on Chinese funding over the past two decades”

It’s not just funding.

Research the ‘Confucius Institutes’ — which began being established inside American universities in 2004 – might have been earlier elsewhere.

(And for G*d’s sake, do NOT trust Wikipedia on any of this.)

The original Corman-Drosten et al PCR test paper had been criticized by some people. “A consortium of over forty life scientists has petitioned for the withdrawal of the paper, writing a lengthy report detailing 10 major errors in the paper’s methodology.” On February 4, 2021, Eurosurveillance (who first published the paper) published its long-awaited response to the Corman-Drosten Review Report, after a two-month period of review by “five external experts”. Within one week of the receipt of the Report, and after a discussion with the editorial board members, it was decided that scientific misconduct or conflicts of interest were a non-issue. They were also happy with the peer review. https://www.eurosurveillance.org/content/10.2807/1560-7917.ES.2021.26.5.2102041 The Review Report and the Addendum on the Borger-Kämmerer team against the Corman-Drosten et al paper was criticised by people like Prof. Andreas Beyer who states …. “The Borger-Kämmerer text is pseudoscience, it is full of misconceptions, errors and flaws. Therefore it is ignored by experts for good reason. The impact it had in public consciousness, however, is fatal. Borger reported on Twitter more than 30 Million views of his “Report” (March 2021) [now 50 million]. Hence I ask all colleagues please to spread this essay for at least a… Read more »

Thanks for the link there are some interesting points made. Probably could have written it in about 1/4 of the space and left out the ranting, bad punctuation and referring to his own work as proof that the Corman-Drosten is correct. He is obviously passionate about his work. However, the critique seems fundamentally weak and incoherent on two points – cycle threshold (you can use hundreds – really?) and use of PCR as a diagnostic. He seems to echo the arguments that it cannot be used as a diagnostic in absentia of other expertise such as medical diagnosis and then argues that it had to be used as a medical diagnostic due to widespread prevalence of asymptomatic spread (one of the many things he asserts in the document but does not reference). Also, the guy is throwing tropes around like ‘conspiracy theory’ and ‘911’ in his introduction where he lumps them together with ‘anti-vaccinationists’, ‘creationists’ and ‘climate change deniers’ like a toddler eating custard and peas with his fingers, and then goes on to complain that he is wrongly accused of ad hominem attacks! This opening is an explicit display of his own groupthink mentality. Then there’s stuff like this… Read more »

Senate majority votes to repeal vaccine mandate

To pass Congress, a repeal would also have to receive a majority in the House of Representatives and escape being vetoed by Biden, which would be incredibly unlikely.

As someone once quipped: If there’s a problem, intelligent people look for solutions and stupid people for culprits.

The ongoing campaign for the UK to adopt as much of the Chinese Corona policies as can be forced onto the population, also with strong backing of the academic UK and thus, if the article is correct, China, is much more important than flogging this dead horse.

Independently of this, gene-engineering bioweapon experiments ought to be banned. Even if they’re just gain of function research and certainly supposed to further some good cause. Potentially dangerous technology doesn’t belong into the hands of people stupid or mad enough to use it for something like this. These people belong into padded cellls.

20 years ago I use to travel with work and I was shocked at the influence China and the Chinese had on various countries. In Pakistan I use to eat in the Chinese restaurants as the quality of the food was much better than in local restaurants. The Chinese have been playing a long term game and infiltrating many countries, institutions, political parties, universities etc for decades. Read the Hidden Hand to see how much the CCP have infiltrated the globe.

To show how long a game they have been playing just look at Africa/Zimbabwe, it was the Chinese who fired up African tribal chiefs to the “evils” of colonialism and trained and funded the troops. Look at Zimbabwe, they bought the country for a few lorry loads of weapons and the odd palace for Mugabe. I understand there is a trillion dollars worth of platinum in Zimbabwe and the locals wont get a look in.

Under the colonials the locals were educated, employed, given medical treatment and generally looked after (better than their tribal chief did). Now the Chinese couldn’t give a dam for the local African, just get the stupid west to pay for them.

Interesting article.
And many private schools in Britain that remain “independent” and aren’t Chinese-owned still receive a lot of Chinese money.
“The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.”
Of course the CCP bigwigs much prefer a Tory government to a Labour one – and not only because the Tory party has long received dirty money through Hong Kong. Soviet bigwigs too preferred a Tory government. (Khrushchev: “If I lived in Britain, I would vote Conservative.”)

“The U.K.’s science sector has been compromised by”… a global pedo elite. China is where they have planned to install their next financial and power centre. Ever since manufacturing plants were moved out of the US in the 1970’s, when Nixon unpegged the dollar off gold.

The problem is not just China. We have enemies both foreign and domestic operating within our countries, and most of them are whispering in the ears to people in the top levels of governments, flashing their wads of cash and pushing us in a direction that quite literally will be hell on this green Earth. No one can say for certain what ‘conspiracy theory’ is actually going to be the real deal, but I sure as hell don’t want to sit around and wait to find out. So what do we do about it? Keep having debates? Keep writing letters to MPs? Keep having protests? Keep heckling Chris Witty? As they say in mafia movies ‘Forget about it!’ We need to start thinking big. Building an independent provisional government, building a military and police force, recruiting from all levels of society and hoping for major defections from existing institutions. The first job of this government will be to take the now very illegitimate government to task and send them packing, while also setting up a new Nuremberg style tribunal. And after that? Well, onto Europe and beyond. This is going to be a long road. But it has to start… Read more »

SIS has its own scientists. Is Dearlove saying

  • 1. SIS scientists advised Raab and Johnson and Truss that SARSCoV2 probably came from a Chinese laboratory and their advice wasn’t accepted; or
  • 2. SIS scientists did not offer this advice?

If 1, the implication is that the Chinese state has penetrated the senior echelon of the British Tory government, probably with Johnson himself as one of its assets.

If 2, the implication is that the Chinese state has penetrated the senior echelon of SIS.

Another point I would make is that it’s terrible psywar to whinge about how good the other side’s psywar is. Dearlove must know that. He may see Britain as already having fallen to China, to a point where all he can do is lob something, so he lobs something.

Third: why doesn’t he mention Cambridge University directly? There’s an awful lot of Chinese money, much of it “dark”, at Cambridge, and as a former master of Pembroke College Dearlove will be especially aware of that.

They test for the flu since they’ve never isolated Covid-19. Which makes me wonder how they can tell there is a delta variant. They never isolated the virus but they use a test to show the damage of a solution does on monkey kidney cells then show the cellular debris as proof of the virus. So, they can use this method to claim an UNENDING! amount of variants. A lot of cancers and “viruses” are probably just different forms of parasites. Since the tests can’t differentiate between cold and flu and covid then doesn’t that mean ivermectin cures both the cold and the flu? This article again proves that this website exists to deceive people and keep them distracted with illusions!!!
Already last century, intellectuals like Gilbert Chesterton [the new unhappy lords] said that the “cold war” was a myth since the same elements are behind capitalism and communism: the jewish bankers.
It’s the Hegelian Dialect of balance of powers illusion, the bogus conflicts between west and east, when in reality governments are controlled either by these bankers directly or through their invisible weapon, freemasonry.
It’s the same illusion as the Tories vs Labour, both are controlled by the bankers and freemasonry.
We live in a world filled with gigantic illusions.
