Angela Merkel Demands Mandatory Vaccination Law as Germany is Set to Impose Restrictions on the Unvaccinated
The German Government has announced that its unvaccinated population will be prohibited from entering ‘non-essential’ shops, with Angela Merkel declaring that these restrictions are necessary to stop the nation’s hospitals from being overrun with Covid patients. The Chancellor has labelled the new restrictions as an “act of solidarity”, and has called upon lawmakers to introduce legislation making the vaccine compulsory. The Telegraph has the story.
Angela Merkel has backed compulsory vaccinations as leaders agreed to bring in a de facto lockdown for the unvaccinated.
The German Chancellor said that people who aren’t vaccinated will be excluded from nonessential shops, as well as cultural and recreational venues.
Speaking after a meeting with federal and state leaders, she said the measures were necessary in light of concerns that hospitals in Germany could become overloaded with people suffering Covid infections.
“The situation in our country is serious,” Merkel told reporters in Berlin, calling the measure an “act of national solidarity”.
Merkel herself backed the most contentious proposal of imposing a general vaccine mandate. She said Parliament would debate the proposal with input from the country’s national ethics committee.
If passed, it could take effect as early as February, Merkel said, adding that she would have voted in favour of the measure if she were still a member of parliament.
She said officials had also agreed to require masks in schools, impose new limits on private meetings and aim for 30 million vaccinations by the end of the year, an effort that will be boosted by allowing dentists and pharmacists to administer the shots.
Just over 68% of the population in Germany is fully vaccinated, far below the minimum of 75% the Government is aiming for.
There have been large protests against pandemic measures in the past in Germany and the vaccine mandate is likely to be opposed by a minority, though opinion polls show most Germans are in favour.
Finance Minister Olaf Scholz, who is expected to be elected chancellor by a centre-left coalition next week, has also backed a general vaccine mandate, but favours letting lawmakers vote on the issue according to their personal conscience rather than party lines.
Under the new measures announced today, the unvaccinated will be barred from restaurants, pubs, cinemas, gyms, cultural events and non-essential shops.
The restrictions, which will not apply to the fully jabbed, are already in force in several German regions.
The unvaccinated will also be barred from Christmas markets in those regions where they are still open. Many regions have already ordered the traditional markets to close.

In fact he is speaking as if war has already started. His video is punctuated with violent images from start to finish. If it’s him versus Macron in the second round it will be “Save France” versus “Save France from the man who says he wants to save France”. Rhetorical considerations suggest that the first of these is the more powerful message.

I want to disagree, but the “sauce for the goose” argument is valid. Well, partly valid. Actually no, I partly disagree. Only partly though.
It’s “valid” in a kind of playground “yah boo, gotcha!” sense.
But if you actually give it any serious thought, it has two fundamental flaws that render it not something an adult should adhere to (I suspect they are probably what you were referring o when you said you disagree with it).
First, it’s inherently admitting the argument against mass immigration that it claims to defeat.
Second, it’s holding people morally responsible for the supposed crimes of their ancestors.
No adult should be putting that kind of argument forward seriously, but when it comes to the immigration issue its advocates tend to be extremely self-righteous in their hatred for those who disagree with them on the issue, and that tends to blind them to such issues.

There’s a bit more to it in France’s case though, surely. The Left no doubt started the process but the Right and Left together failed to effect any kind of integration. From the beginning, if you were foreign you were confined to the hideous outskirts of town. Opportunities for immigrants to ‘become’ French have always been limited compared to immigrants in this country who were inclined (as most are) to ‘become’ British. French immigrants in the immeubles of every French city banlieue have reason to be pissed off, despite having been given a new start. It’s not good enough simply to blame the Left. The official figures estimate that 10.2% of the population of France, now are immigrants, 32% of those European. But that doesn’t account for the vast numbers of second and third generation immigrants, many of whom have grown up thoroughly unassimilated.
The numbers are quite literally staggering, and only a systematic elite process of actively pushing for mass migration while demonising and suppressing dissent can explain how this situation was ever allowed to come to pass.

He does recognise the inherent harmfulness of mass immigration, since assimilation is straightforwardly impossible with very large numbers. And the police will be doing irregular spot checks and will punish everyone (via fines) harshly who hasn’t been dilligent enough in excluding unvaccinated people. All of this is already in place.
Like all COVID measures, it demonstrably failed to improve anything so far. Hence, it must be extended and more rigorously enforced. Yes. If you don’t when the police wants to see it, they’re authorized to arrest you temporarily in order to determine who you are.

If yes, then the police or other enforcement personnel will be able to check whether a person carrying their card is vaccinated as easily as checking whether a car carrying its registration plates is taxed.

As German, you’ll have to have a vaccination passport, anyway and since ever (ie, I got one when I went into elementary school in 1979). Nowadays, you’re required to have that with you as well, in order to prove that you’re entitled to do things restricted to vaccinated or recovered people (2G).

There is no central database they could check (at least officially/yet). But they can very well ask for your vaxx passport, and if you are unable produce one (which the name and birth date which matches your ID card), the silent assumption is that you are restricted. Pretty much the same as checking driver’s license except that you also need to show ID card because the vaxx passport does not count as one (yet).
The arrest option only comes into play if you refuse to disclose your identity during a police check. It is not mandatory to carry your ID for it. You could just tell them.
If you try to tell something the to German police they aren’t willing to listen to, you’ll quickly find yourself in a very undesirable situations with one of the best outcomes being that it just leads to a one-off outburst of violence. I’ve had the mispleasure often enough.
In principle, I’m still charmed by the English policing model because you’ll end up with essentially reasonable people willing to listen instead of mindless brutes trained to proactively crush dangerous opponents in a civil war situation.

There have been reports of people getting jabbed without showing their ID – well, send them back to the jabbing tent, make them show their ID, and get them jabbed again and then you know they have been jabbed.

Germany has reduced ICU capacity during the pandemic due to false monetary incentives for hospitals (DIVI Gate) but it still has the highest number of ICUs per capita in Europe, by far and a multiple.
It currently has 10% of ICUs occupied by WITH Covid patients.
It is therefore laughable to suggest that it should have an ICU problem due to Covid, or that the unvaxxed are taking away ICU beds from the vaxxed for other operations, let alone that it’s only/mainly unvaxxed in there:
It doesn’t have a clue about the vaccination status of 2/3rds of these patients (s. Z. Foegen), it just frames and presents made up and partial numbers to scare the population.
It has less natural immunity than most other countries and practically does not treat patients before they get sent onto an ICU bed, where HALF of them still get ventilated, although that is long since known to be THE killer.
If you had a pick n mix vaccination, which the government is also promoting heavily, you count as an unvaccinated patient in all those statistics.
In short, this is a criminal operation to advance an agenda by all those involved.

That is not correct, the percent of ICU beds occupied by Covid patients in Germany ranged from 8% to 42% today (at state level).

I had to go a trade show in Germany a couple of weeks ago – I really didn’t want to, but had to for work. I was one of the few at the exhibition without a mask, and I was told off several times a day by a special Covisafe taskforce that were walking through the exhibition halls looking for the very few who dared to be bare-faced. At the hotel breakfast buffet, I was also told off repeatedly for my non-compliance, by a young guy. Luckily I had two German colleagues who were also unvaccinated and knew the drill – we travelled to the test centre every evening, in order to get our daily tests. One evening when we paid the bill at a restaurant, they told us we had been ‘lucky’, since they were going to introduce 2G the following week. A very depressing way to ‘live’.

Medically, there is far more natural immunity here and the doctors are treating earlier.
The Johnson genuinely seems more liberal than the rest of the cabal.
The people are far more liberal, in the proper sense, than people elsewhere, certainly in Europe.
They are also more cognizant economically and sceptical about the magic money tree.
The justice system seems to offer slightly better protection of liberties than elsewhere.
Last but not least, the almost reflexive, widespread, outspoken reaction using historical analogies by the public and 4th estate towards these draconian policies and events in Germany and Austria and towards anything coming from the EU bureaucrats should make it less likely that they are being copied here.

Th vaccine doesn’t stop you getting the virus or spreading it – you can still get the virus and transmit it to others – all the vaccine does is possibly ease the symptoms should you get the virus or the variants and even the level of protection the jab provides is limited with everyone needing yet another jab just a few months later.
Lock up the unvaccinated and let the vaccinated continue to spread the virus and the variants – makes perfect sense (NOT!).
