Mandatory Vaccination Will Cause One in 10 Care Workers to Lose Their Jobs
The Government is set to introduce a mandatory vaccination requirement for all care home staff this Thursday, with one in 10 employees facing the sack because they haven’t received both doses of a Covid vaccine. In addition, the General Secretary of Unison, a trade union which represents public sector workers, has called on the Government to scrap the vaccine mandate as it will “cause more harm than good”. The Times has the story.
The Government’s policy requiring all care home staff to have had two doses of the vaccine comes into force on Thursday, and the Care Quality Commission said it would take action if necessary to ensure people’s safety.
Social care experts warned that the measure was likely to exacerbate existing staff shortages, leaving people without the care they needed, and one of the biggest trade unions urged the Government to reconsider its position.
In 76 out of 151 upper-tier local authorities in England, more than 10% of staff in care homes for older adults were not fully vaccinated, according to NHS England statistics up to the end of last month.
Nationally, 89.4% of the almost 462,000 staff working in older adult care homes were double-jabbed.
The lowest rates were in Thurrock, Essex, and Manchester, where only 79.1% and 79.4% of staff were double-jabbed. The highest rates were in York, where 94.8% of staff were double-vaccinated, and Rutland, where the figure was 95.6%.
Some of those who are unvaccinated will have medical exemptions, whereas others may not have recorded their vaccination properly.
Simon Bottery, the Senior Fellow in Social Care at the King’s Fund think tank, said the sector would lose workers, with the only question being how many. The Government’s own estimate is that about 40,000 staff could leave as a result of the policy.
Bottery said: “In the last full year for which we’ve got statistics, there were over 100,000 vacancies at any one time. We also know that although the vacancies fell in the initial stages of the pandemic, they’ve since been increasing, and they’re now almost certainly higher than they were before the pandemic started.
“There’s a chronic problem with recruiting into adult social care, and that problem is becoming really acute. And the moment the sector loses a significant number of staff on top of the existing problem, then it creates really significant serious problems for the providers but also crucially for people who rely on adult social care services.”
Mike Padgham, Chairman of the Independent Care Group, who has worked in the sector for 30 years, said at the weekend that the deadline could mean up to 500 homes across England having to close their doors.

Wrong! People have a natural instinct that if something is ‘good’ it will succeed on its own merit. As soon as govt start pushing it, folk start asking why. Sometimes it is obviously good *and* does not have any negative consequence, like mandating wearing seatbelts or crash helmets, but when a medical procedure is mandated that is all of untested, unapproved, risky and irreversible, no!

The government has based its response to C-19 on the Public Health Act 1984, s.45E of which expressly states that jabs CANNOT be mandated.
This is PRIMARY legislation.
Javid has mandated jabbing by ministerial decree i.e. by SECONDARY legislation……..which cannot over-rule the primary.
Unless I have something wrong, the mandate is therefore utterly ultra vires.

The Public Health Act 1984 is primary legislation and it’s sections are perfectly clear. Trying to mandate care workers has been made under Regulations. The point was made very clearly above. There is also Health and Safety laws being broken, the Human Rights Act 1998 (also primary legislation), the law of informed consent and various European Conventions such as the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and these are all for starters. The law is prefectly clear. The Government and judiciary are all corrupt. If I were a care worker I would refuse to leave, then sue for unfair dismissal if dismissed and then spill the beans on what has really been going on. Same if an NHS worker.
I can’t see why you are both jumping on Lucan Grey. He makes the valid point that the 2021 Regs were issued under the 2008 Act not under the 1984 one. Section 45(e) of the 1984 Act only says that requiring a person to undergo “medical treatment” such as “vaccination” may not be ordered under either of two specified subsections of the 1984 Act itself. It does not say “jabs cannot be mandated” using powers granted under any other primary legislation.

One thing is evident, when the government breaks the law no individual is held accountable, at the most it’s labelled unlawful (a fudge) the most that happens is that taxpayers pay the compensation. I did ask a care worker about this – she had recently left her job over masking. She initially got an exemption (she presumably has an underlying medically documented health condition) and this seemed fine but eventually pressure was put on her. I think she was told that mandatory jabbing would be on its way before too long so she was advised it wasn’t worth the fight (not sure if that was a colleague or her union). She tried to pursue it citing disability discrimination but the union refused to back her. She was told if she pursued it, she might lose and without the support of the union she would have to pay expenses. She couldn’t afford to take that risk so left the job.
Basically it isn’t easy to resist this but I have to applaud the 10% of care workers because they will have had to endure far more flak than I’ve had to endure, that’s for sure. It isn’t easy standing up to Groupthink so well done and many will be under considerable financial pressure too.

Mask exemptions are explicit and include that if one suffers severe distress whilst putting on, wearing, or removing a mask, one is exempt (paraphrasing). No documentation required.

And it has not repealed the s.45E PHA 1984……..the government does not have the cojones to repeal that PRIMARY provision, which is implicit in the Nuremberg Code and human rights laws.

We all know by now these mandates are illogical & have no scientific justification, the consensus is clearly against mandated or coerced vaccination, the science is settled the vaccines have killed tens of thousands & injured hundreds of thousands more than “long covid”. I just had the misfortune to hear part of the Jeremy Vine show on Radio 2. Once again, there is an assumption that anyone who doesn’t want the vaccine is influenced by online conspiracy theorists and an ‘educational’ conversation with a health professional (?) would get them to change their minds and steer them onto the path of righteousness. I am fairly certain that if I was to try to have an “educational” conversation with one of the few health professionals I have access to, their knowledge about the content and effects of the injections they would be trying to persuade me to have would not go very far beyond the fact that they get £12.50 per arm they stick the needle into.

I have been wondering about this magic pill. Is it being slipped out because so much info is now coming out about the vaccines (so a get out of jail card)- namely they are neither safe nor effective. On the other hand I feel whatever is in the jabs is crucial to the global agenda. I saw an insert label for these new pills and the list of possible side effects is pretty shocking. On the other hand a pill is less damaging than an injection as pills only last for so long in the body and have to by pass the digestive system.

In November 2019 the WHO held an international conference to discuss the increasing problem of ‘vaccine hesitancy’ amongst the public and Doctors.
Incredibly this meeting was recorded and the footage released, the WHO essentially admitted that most of the criticisms of vaccines made by the anti-vxxers are valid.
I suppose one really good way of overcoming vaccine hesitancy is to stage a faux pandemic and on the back of it impose vaccine passports that force people to take as many jabs as they stipulate.

Sometimes I believe that scientists like him are genuine and honest: when they get shafted by the pharma/government complex, they get angry as their trust has been betrayed.

In the States the Unions have been taking the Government and employers to court, they have staged protests, sick days. What have the unions been doing over here? I thought the Unions in the 70’s had become out of control but it seems the pendulum has swung in the other direction completely. What is the point in unions these days if it can’t protect its members when the political equivalent of Harvey Weinstein is telling care workers to have this prick or don’t work.

Many experienced care workers are gone already. My sister in law, a qualified nurse and an assistant manager in a care home left her job in June, as she knew which way the “vaccine” wind was blowing. Three other staff resigned at the same time and for the same reason.
My wife has also left. She’s been a carer for 19 years. Working for the same supermarket as me now.
Surely they don’t need to be forced to have a “pharmaceutical” intervention.

I would have a degree of confidence that this “mandate” never actually happens because the timing of the measure is telling. The Government want to get through winter and then will be desperate to pretend Covid is no longer a thing, around 4-6 weeks before this mandate is expected. Like snow in the rain.
