Thousands of English Schoolchildren Forced to Wear Masks
Thousands of children were told to wear masks when they returned to school today after the half-term break, in spite of zero evidence that masks suppress transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in schools. The Daily Mail has more.
Schools in the East of England will be urged to reimpose the measure on top of mass testing to halt an increase in coronavirus cases in the region, it emerged yesterday.
“Targeted local action” will affect more than 1.5million people living in Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Suffolk.
The plans include asking secondary schools to make masks compulsory in communal areas, as well as the return of routine onsite rapid testing for pupils.
The measures – which will be in place for at least five weeks – were announced by the Health Security Agency, the organisation which has replaced Public Health England.
Extra vaccination and testing teams will also be deployed to the East of England to try and tackle the spread of the virus.
Similar restrictions could be rolled out across other parts of the country this winter if they also see a spike in cases.

Mandatory mask wearing and frequent swab testing amounts to child abuse.
It’s assault. As those children cannot give fully informed consent.
It IS abusive. And the parents MUST be complicit or else there’d be a great howl of protest across the country. Yet the sheep deliver their little lambs each morning into these dens of iniquity (soon to become abattoirs) and leave them there without a second thought.
Not in this classroom they’re not. The girl pictured at the top of the article seems to be a student at one of the schools that have gone the extra mile by having their school crest embroidered onto masks issued to their students. Let’s just stop for a moment to consider the abject pompous evil banal ridiculous stupidity of such a move on the part of those schools.
Face masks are all about fashion now.
They are indeed! I can hear people congratulating each other on their designs and wholesomeness (palm face!). The only positive notion here is it reminds me stories of WWII and ladies fashioning skirts out of parachutes.. I don’t know if I want to laugh here, although sarcastically, or wince. Meanwhile, my toddler has been “suspended” from the nursery -again – for coughing twice.
They’d have trouble understanding each other when mumbling through the muzzle!
They ban jewellery in Schools but not the more dangerous masks
A lot of companies seem to have done it with muzzles for their staff. The sheer ridiculousness of it seems not to have occurred to them.
I spent the weekend in Bristol. Masks now very rare, the most ubiquitous instances being hospitality staff who are obviously dictated to. But out in the street, and even indoors, you’re a bit of a freak if you don one.
Saturday afternoon was a family and friends event involving about 50 people. Admittedly outside – but not a mask in sight, and lots of normal hugging. At home – no masks or social distancing crap.
So why this nonsense in schools in a non-epidemic environment and with the known uselessness of masks in any context? As said – it is simply child abuse and should not be tolerated.
Very rare in these parts too. Most supermarket workers and taxi drivers have given them up but perhaps it’s more difficult for those hospitality to do so.
My son works in hospitality. He has to stay behind the counter because he is unvaxxed and is therefore not allowed to be in the room with customers 🙄
Who are, of course, nearly all quacksinated, and therefore (if they’re Believers) SAFE.
Masks back with a vengeance in my neck of the woods. I was in a tiny minority in Tescos at the weekend. Ominous.
Same here I’m afraid in East Devon and in Somerset. Tesco, Waitrose and especially Masks & Spencer in Taunton.
Slightly off topic but I wonder if anyone can reply to this with a link to any reputable sources of information to support my position that I do not want my 12 year old child vaccinated? I am about to have this battle with my wife. I have spent a lot of time reading and am firm in my view that I should not risk his health for something he doesn’t need. My wife agrees with me, but wants him to have it so he can travel. My wife has chosen not to make herself aware of anything that isn’t on the BBC. I do my best, but what I need is a reputable source clearly illustrating the risks for children specifically. I remember seeing plenty of links on this site over the last month or so, but can’t remember where they are! Any help would be appreciated.

I was doing yellow boards, outdoors yesterday, bloke walked past masked up and said “you’re all nutters” I know we’re supposed to ‘wake’ them up with kindness and reasoning but I could only reply “well you’re the one wearing a mask outdoors”, he walked on.
Such people are so completely brainwashed that there is no getting through to them!

Down here in Dorset too in corridors and school transport. Apparently high case numbers in Bournemouth Poole and Christchurch prompted blanket introduction whilst the school has higher than average vaccine uptake. Nobody seems to think any more.
This is nothing but Gov sanctioned abuse, physical and mental.

Anyone capable of reading the few studies on mask effectiveness should know beyond reasonable doubt that they do not work as politicians claim they do.
That any politician who bothers with detail understands this is undoubtedly true.

Who is surprised, by failing to understand that children need to learn by challenging everything they are told because that is the way we as a species have advanced to where we are today, governments are building a civilisation doomed to failure.
I’m not so sure I would espouse the “where we are today” bit. I’d rather use “where we got to about 50 years ago” as a benchmark. “Where we are today” would be completely incomprehensible to my grandparents, a generation that gave so much to allow us, their children and grandchildren to have decent fullfilling, safe existences. I’m pretty sure they would be horrified and disgusted at what we have become following their sacrifices for us. They simply wouldn’t understand how we could allow all this to happen to our children and grandchildren. AND here we are sickest of all, just about to celebrate Remembrance Sunday as well. How can they make this ‘compulsory’ if the parents say NO?
”… tackle the spread of the virus….” WHY? for crying out loud. It’s a virus, it spreads. Treat sick people. Think of all the money that could be put into that if ”testing” was done away with. Of course, those of us here DO think about it.
