There’s No Reason to Plunge the U.K. Into A Christmas Lockdown, Boris Johnson Declares

The Prime Minister has stated that there is currently “no evidence” to implement a Christmas lockdown, despite what Sky News calls a “rise” in Covid cases. (In fact, they’re falling.) Johnson also said that, instead of new restrictions, members of the public should receive a booster jab when they are offered the opportunity, admitting that the effectiveness of the first two jabs does “start to wane” after a time. Sky News has the story.

Speaking to reporters during his trip to Rome for the G20 summit, Johnson once again insisted ministers are sticking with the current plan to tackle Covid and there is no reason to activate the Government’s ‘Plan B’.

Asked if he could guarantee a good Christmas, he said: “I see no evidence whatever to think that any kind of lockdown is on the cards.”

His comments come after the NHS Confederation, the British Medical Association and scientists called on the Government to take steps to ease the growing pressure on the health service.

Covid infections have risen across the U.K., with recent Office for National Statistics estimates showing the same proportion of people in England have the virus as at the peak of the second wave in January.

However, hospitalisations and deaths remain well below the levels seen earlier this year – in part due to the vaccine rollout which has seen 45.7 million people fully vaccinated.

Wll, it’s been officially denied now, so that means a lockdown is a certainty.

Of course! It will be the Ardern argument, that is people will want to feel safe knowing that those around them have been jabbed. The fact that, as everyone admits, being jabbed doesn’t stop being infected or passing the virus on is conveniently forgotten. The same kind of argument that was used (admittedly by the retail industry) to bring face coverings in in the UK in that people would feel more secure when shopping.

Face coverings in non essential retailers* is precisely what kept me out of all but food shops when lockdown restrictions were partly relaxed.
Thus I rediscovered Amazon while trying to support independent retailers of kitchenware, electrical and domestic electronics etc.

* that and ‘click’n’collect’ from the likes of Argos and Next.

Cobblers. As soon as the Flop 26 attendees have cleared off, we’ll be given a couple of days’ notice ‘to save Christmas’ which won’t be properly lifted until June or July.

No doubt the COP (OUT) luminaries and their enterage and journos will be bringing a nice big COVID present with them, as the did to St. Ives in Cornwall earlier in the summer.

I’m sure then justifying locking down will be made far easier. Cough-cough.

Has anybody noticed the rolling back of the narrative on these jabs..

Together with what he said on video the other day about them not preventing either infection or transmission, and then this from the above.. “remarking that the effectiveness of the first two jabs can “start to wane”.

That should, in a just world, totally remove the invented need for vax passports, which if the truth be told are the biggest threat to our way of life if fully implemented..

There is no reason for any more lockdowns, restrictions, mask mandates, vaccine mandates or vaccine passports none of it … all have been proven to be wholly ineffective, total bollocks and in many cases more lethal than the virus itself – all a complete waste of time not to mention billions pissed up the wall in taxpayers money – we want every single one of our normal freedoms returned as they were intact when we were swindled out of them pre-March 2020 and no going back to this medical tyranny ever again.

A family get together has just been cancelled because one of them (who was getting regularly tested for payment) has just tested positive, and has to isolate for 10 days! So now they’re all getting tested, and all want to stay away from each other again despite being triple-bloody jabbed! Hubs and I though, are the danger apparently, because we won’t comply! They just don’t get that it’s THEIR compliance that’s keeping this shit going! We’re through.

Reply to  HelenaHancart

@Helena – To be regularly medically tested for payment is quite sad, but I hope they were paid well. What’s the false positive rate for their test? And what is the value of

(1 – the FPR) ^ (the number of tests they took) ?

That will give you the probability of NO false positive occurring in the first n tests, for a person who was negative all the way through.

(I am just playing the game here, because even being really SARSCoV2-positive matters almost not at all to the health of a reasonably fit and well person. But the above maths as far as it goes is thoroughly sound.)

Cue: the “Glasgow variant”…which the boosters will be shown to work miraculously against, increasing their precious “vaccine effectiveness” exponentially thus widening the gap between the righteous and the sinful and laying the ground for the original policy which was jab freedom licences all along just in time to separate the jabbed from the unjabbed at a time of family festivity.

Happy Christmas.

Of course religion is not the natural bedfellow of their hardline global communism (see N Korea for details) so it might be the last one we get anyway.

But while waiting for the knock on the door, you could still enjoy the sight of a tearful Boris Johnson saying

“We were only trying to save every species of life including humankind from total and utter extinction. We are so sorry, so so sorry, that in trying so terribly hard to help you we unwittingly spread the Glasgow variant which experts fear may kill a million of you by the end of the year if we don’t lock you all down and only allow you out of your accommodation to walk directly to the nearest tagging station.

PS The Anthropogenic Climate Change lie and the Vaccination Versus Pandemic lie are fated to shack up together and have a baby at some point. That is obvious.

PPS The state ideology in North Korea is highly religious.

So called cases been falling for a couple of days now and even before, they were well below January levels. That’s why these people have again switched to their meanwhile known tactic (first used in January) of referring to ONS estimates they’re usually ignoring: In order to claim that cases aren’t really falling because someone estimates, that is guesses, that they simply can’t be doing this.

The idea that (example) People must be forced to wear masks because we estimate some must be infected with something is positively surreal.

Here’s a chart from ONS data showing that in the middle of the year (week 26), how few all cause deaths were in the unvaccinated. It’s the little green bit on the right of the chart. Would be interesting to see the up to date chart.

If the deaths are any idea of hospitalisations, and it’s the same now, which I expect it is, I doubt it’s the unvaccinated that are causing any pressure at all on the health service! They seem to be the healthier ones at the moment.

Just a quick ,slightly off topic ,question.

the press are reporting that as of today France has 6500 people in hospital with covid, and 1000 in ICU. This isn’t too different to the UK figures of 8000 in hospital and approx 900 on ventilators.
Yet reported case numbers in France are much lower, and 7 day average deaths much lower too.

You might conclude, assuming that French and British hospitals admit people when they get to a similar level of severity of illness that figures are being routinely misreported in one or both countries. You might also conclude that vaccine passports are useless, or that french hospitals do a better job of keeping people alive.
thoughts?

Fatal mistake. Most ‘cases’ of covid in hospitals are of people already in hospital and take a PCR test which records positive. I have no evidence to support different CT rates used in each country, but its possible. ‘ICU’ in France does not have the same definition as in the UK, its a wider definition of treatment and certainly includes patients who are well on the way to recovery. In both cases of course, the patients may be in ICU because of the original reason for their admission and nothing at all to do with covid. However they are recorded as covid because of the positive PCR test. Hospitals are happy to do this as they gain financially from the allocation of more resources with more covid patients.
Quite seperately , of course passports are useless as they don’t signify anything to do with infection or transmission. They do signify conformity which is after all what is intended.

UK has historically carried out a lot more tests than most other countries so that is going to throw up more cases by its very nature. As to hospital numbers, obesity levels in the UK may be a factor?
