Boris Was Right to Release All Restrictions Freedom Day, Says Professor Lockdown
Releasing all Covid restrictions on ‘Freedom Day’ was the right thing to do despite outcry at the time, a study for Imperial College London led by ‘Professor Lockdown’ Neil Ferguson has found. MailOnline has more.
Imperial College London researchers praised the roadmap more generally, saying that it was ‘largely successful at limiting infection levels’.
They said No 10 timed the easing of restrictions well because the dates of each step of the roadmap allowed vaccines to get into the arms of those most at risk.
And the study said it was prudent to delay ‘Freedom Day’ nearly a month from its original date on June 26th after the emergence of the Delta variant.
This decision alone prevented at least 2,000 hospital admissions per day, they found. This ultimately saved countless lives.
Experts previously criticised No10 for being ‘unscientific ‘ and argued Boris Johnson lifted restrictions too early on July 19th.
But scientists like Professor Christ [sic] Whitty, England’s chief medical officer, said that abandoning curbs in summer would take some of the sting out of a winter wave by getting infections out of the way.
Scientists including SAGE behavioural science subcommittee member Professor Stephen Reicher and Independent SAGE members Professors Christina Pagel and Martin McKee slammed the return to normality in July as “dangerous and unethical” at the time.
And international health leaders including former Australian health department secretary Stephen Duckett warned opening up was “foolish”.
But the new research suggests the Prime Minister’s course was the right plan of action — even with the unanticipated problems posed by Delta.

What a creepy little brown nose merchant that man is.
If he thinks this will bring forgiveness for his crimes he is much mistaken.

The silence of so many cardinals and bishops, along with the inconceivable promotion of the vaccination campaign by the Holy See, represents a form of unprecedented complicity that cannot continue any longer.
What makes this so easy for the Government is everybody is waiting for somebody else to do something…….

I think the Church has a death wish! I know I see it in a different light and I cannot be the only one!
Me too, I haven’t been to Church for a long time due to the continuing restrictions (magical masks and hand sanitiser) and wrote to the Bishops Council telling them that (a) they were perpetuating an unnecessary state of fear and (b) covid has effectively become a false religion and shouldn’t Christians be able to handle the certainty that we will all die sometime?
PS the Vatican had to roll back on its vaccination mandate when some Swiss Guards resigned.
‘The’ Church? Which one? (Although I haven’t noticed many following different policies).
The major churches have always been about mammon, not god, and specifically about social control.
You can forgive a certain amount of brown nosing. You cannot forgive total incompetence and hypocrisy at the same time though. This idiot is not fit to mop floors
I suspect he is seeing the way the wind is blowing, what an opportunistic toad…
.
And as expected, Project “Let Me Keep My Job Despite Another EPIC Failure” starts rolling.
“Go hard and early” with masks… I was berated by a male nurse yesterday at my local hospital for not wearing a mask, despite being exempt. We shall see how robust the NHS complaints procedure is after 2 separate emails. The Chief Executive will be receiving a letter as well.
My recent experience shows that the NHS does not recognise exemptions but they are quite happy to have people wandering around in hospitals with masks under their nose. On receiving a lecture from a doctor about the importance of not letting anyone in her house without one (she has never worn one), my Mum calmly pointed out that two hospital nurses treated her recently while not wearing any mask at all. One Rule for us…
I was again a day patient for chemo on Monday, everyone there supposed to be extra vulnerable but I wore my exempt badge inside my t-shirt and top, nobody said a word about me not wearing a mask.
Single hand sanitizer unit in the entrance to haematology Reception was widely ignored or forgotten about.
Is being exempt still a thing? For me now it’s just that I am labelled an anti masker and then life goes on.
Wear that badge with pride. I’m happy to be called an anti-masker, anti-vaxxer, anti-semite, conspiracy theorist – whatever. Questioning doctrine, mandates, policies, religion, governments, corruption etc doesn’t make you anti anything – that’s a method to shut you down and to comply. As soon as you’re called ‘anti’ something, you know there’s an agenda at play.
I was a Registered Nurse for twenty plus years.
I would advise contacting the Nursing and Midwifery council via their online complaints section to help rein in this rogue nurse.
Nurses are more fearful of the NMC than they are of their Trust management as the NMC can sanction you or ultimately strike you off for unprofessional behaviour.
We need to ignore charlatans like Vallance and the ‘very uncertain phase’ – bin all the unscientific ludicrous; masks, quarantine/lockdown/distancing for healthy people and health pass ‘papers please’ phases – that only ruin and cost lives – and head directly to the ‘Florida Certain Phase’ nicknamed ‘NORMALITY’
Vallance is up to his neck in it with Fauci and the eco-health illegal SARS2 gain of function development
Rare trip to the co-op yesterday, Normality ruled. No signs, didn’t notice hand sanitizer no staff or customers with masks
The old git in front of me at the cash desk had caused a queue with all his fussyness about what went into what bag, f*cking coupons for this that and the other and his telly mags facing the right way and then couldn’t find his wallet; he was the one wearing a welders shield.
It’s definitely a sign of being on the OCD spectrum. It gives them a tiny measure of control.
Here in the west midlands there are still a lot of masks being worn, by all ages, even out on the street. In M&S and Tesco it’s about 50/50. My daughter visited from Essex last weekend and she says it’s far worse here than where she lives. In my local village shop nearly everybody (except me) still wears them. SO frustrating!
Well – no-one could accuse the little creep of consistency.
Talk about post-hoc rationalization and leaping on a departed bandwaggon.
The hard fact is that nothing the stupid faction has done has much relationship to the progress of the virus – except negatively, making it marginally worse by delay and induced infection by snake-oil.
As to Vallance and his masks – there’s a place the sun don’t shine. As Yeadon has said – he can’t believe this sort of shit – so is a deeply sinister character.
Call me a cynic, sounds like post-hoc damage limitation.
He (and his funders) is relying on the publics inability to remember anything – he needs his latest pronouncement to be less utter bollocks than previous so that when he demands for plan B in a few weeks (or every one will die) the stupid irrationally petrified population will take him seriously again…
Didn’t Prof Ferguson make a prediction that he was adamant was certainty if we released from all restrictions on ‘freedom day’ – what was that prediction again?
100,000 cases a day wasn’t it??
no, he stuck his neck out and said 200,000
UK Covid cases could hit 200,000 a day, says scientist behind lockdown strategy | Coronavirus | The Guardian
as a bit of context the 1200 “experts” who wrote a letter to Boris gave a figure of 50-100,000 cases. On this one Ferguson is on his own
Blood on his hands.
I haven’t taken any notice of Ferguson, Whity, Valence or Van Tamage since the graph of doom.
And any and all efforts from myself to play my part in pushing back within my own circle, writing to MPs, sharing data, riping into lockdown lovers when they bring it into conversations, seems to have failed. Onward they go.
I have managed to support those wavering perhaps, in my own family I’ve always thrown data their way and good sources, they’ve stayed the course in opposition to this stuff as a result.
I’m utterly exhausted by the whole thing.
“Delivering the warning over the airwaves this morning, England’s chief scientific adviser said that the country remained in a ‘very uncertain phase’ of the pandemic.”
So scientific advisors advise we should remain uber-cautious
But..
“Let’s vaccinate children to see how safe the vaccine is because we don’t have enough data.”
according to the FDA.
As outlined a couple of days ago Covid has got most of those 0.2% it’s going to get, most people have immunity of one sort or another but there may be some pockets where cases might ‘flare up’, more accurately ‘occur’.
That is the only degree of uncertainty; not that it might somehow return with all its howling wanton destruction and death that we are supposed to remember and fear.
Wouldn’t it be a pity if Unbalanced unbalanced and fell under an ambulance?
Hmm, let me think: NO!
I’d prefer an HGV supplying tests kits to some lab. The ambulance might be under way because of a medical emergency.
🙂
Glory be.
After reading the actual article both Daily Mail and Toby’s headlines are misleading.
Pantsdown is not praising Boris for ‘Freedom Day’ but that following his advice in delaying ‘Freedom Day’ by yet another month is what ‘prevented thousands of hospitalisations’ and therefore more deaths.
Odious creep claiming credit for preventing something that wasn’t happening anyway.
(Following a precedent set by a Labour Health Minister some decades ago who appointed a flu Tzar to ‘sort the NHS out’. A couple of weeks later claiming victory as flu numbers started to decline. Meanwhile a senior hospital medic had told me that the real figures had been going down before the clown Tzar was appointed).
Next week his tune with change again. He’s like a brat of a child whose mum spoils him. He’ll apologize today and go completely differently next week, not even hiding his lie, and mummy will still give him extra cookies and buy him a new IPhone.
Never wishes perpetual unemployment on anyone but the idea of seeing Ferguson this time next year driving a bus in Gladgow would actually make me smile.
Woud you get on a bus driven by this man??
Important news. share widely, he our European comrades tear down the vax pass,
EU vax pass system private key may have leaked:
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/eu-investigating-leak-of-private-key-used-to-forge-covid-passes/
Shared, the integrity of this thing has to be crushed into dust.
There’s not much more sickening than wisdom after the event from this reptile peddler of falsehoods. The only thing that’s more emetic is the fact that so many swallowed the garbage without question.
I see in the News Round Up that there are statue shenanigans at Imperial College. That name, which in itself smacks of colonialism and superiority (jesting, but “with-it”), should in any case be changed to something more up-to-date and descriptive. “Charlatans’ College” springs to mind, but many other titles are apt and available.
In a few years time, ICL will publish a study proving by his ‘China/we could get away with this’ comment that Ferguson&co/ICL was always totally opposed to lockdowns.
When the Chief Scientific Officer of a country has fully embraced witchcraft, alchemy and censorship only, the outcome of everything he is involved with is inevitably catastrophic.
I’ve an awful feeling he’s priming for re-introduction of restrictions soon by claiming they reduce infections
Say it’s the vaccines Neil, then we’ll turn a blind eye….
note to editor the name is Chris Whitty NOT Christ Whitty
It’s high time that Sir Patrick Vallance is taken off the table.
Horizontally.
Actions speak louder than words litmus tests :
Feel free to add.
A common side effect of covid vaxxine is covid, the most dangerous disease known to man. Would you take a tetanus vaccine if the most common side effect was tetanus?
We simply cannot cherry pick what we choose about this man’s predictions. We know his modelling follows a script and doesn’t meet even the most basic standards. Great that he said something sensible for once but it’s probably also based on junk science (or just a script).
A straightforward self-defence article; not worth spending much time on.
Must be feeling his knighthood slip away. I think this is called retrospectively fitting your methodology and conclusion around the facts.
Just where does this moron get off. He needs to come and live down here with the rest of us in the real world and face the consequences of his mad predictions.
Ask the British meat farmers what they think of him.
The article seems to bestowing some sort of authority on this serially failed modeller whose department is so well funded by Gates. Well…if Ferguson concludes that Johnson was ” right” we must all be mightily impressed (not). Perhaps the editors could scrabble around for scientists’ opinions not in the ‘magic’ money circle controlled by Big Pharma rather than quote this excuse of a scientist/ professor of falsehoods at the head of the newsletter.
See Dr Mercola’s article in his newsletter today, online.it is one of the few things that makes sense. It really doesn’t matter what Boris or Ferguson do, they are small puppets in a much larger theatre production. Wake up everyone.
Even if Ferguson became an out and out lockdown sceptic I would not want to hear from him. When are the media going to stop giving this man the oxygeon of publicity? The damage he has helped wrought to our way of life should never be forgiven.
Ferguson now knows he picked the wrong side and wants to jump over the fence.
if there issomething I hate more than an enemy it is an enemy who pretends to be your friend.
