Wales Rolls Out Vaccine Passports After Botched Vote

The Welsh Government has introduced a Covid status certification scheme for nightclubs and large indoor and outdoor events in spite of only securing approval for it in the Senedd by one vote after a Conservative MS was unable to connect via Zoom. Had the vote been tied, the scheme would not have been introduced. Unfortunately, the report on BBC News about the Welsh Covid Pass neglects to mention this fact and – even more bizarrely – fails to point out that being double jabbed only marginally reduces your chances of becoming infected or infecting others. On the contrary, it quotes people saying how relieved they are that they’ll now be ‘safe’ from infection at football stadiums and the like.

Lidi Staffurth is one of thousands of people who have been shielding during the pandemic due to a condition which makes them extremely vulnerable to COVID-19.

She said Covid passes would help reassure people who might feel uncertain about attending large events, adding she felt she had her “freedom back”.

Ms Staffurth labelled it a “brilliant idea”, not least because there are three young people in her family.

“If they’re in large groups then we’ll know they’re around people who are double vaccinated, or at least free from Covid,” she said.

“I think it’s a fantastic idea and for a society at large it means people are looking after each other.

“I think some young people just don’t care – they’ve had it with Covid, and I think we’ve all had it with Covid – but they live in their own little bubble and they don’t really see beyond that bubble a lot.

“And that’s fair enough, but it means with a Covid pass they’re made to consider that.”

The rugby game between Wales and New Zealand at the Principality Stadium on October 30th will be one of the first sporting events where attendees are required to produce a Covid Pass before being admitted.

You can still protest outside…

Ask for people’s FULL medical history(STD tests, abortions etc.), it’s only a little further step.

After all this started 100 weeks ago with 3 weeks to flatten a curve.

Funny the BBC, ITV, Sky etc forget to mention a lot of things when reporting on all things Covid and Vaccines. It’s almost as if there’s an agenda to blind the public.

The total ignorance out there is shocking. You have to be motivated to investigate matters for yourself and so realise that there is another side to msm, but people are too unaware and just believe the establishment. I don’t think most of them even care, putting trust in all the wrong people.

in spite of only securing approval for it in the Senedd by one vote after a Conservative MS was unable to connect via Zoom

There appears to be some controversy and blame-shifting going on about whether the speaker or the MP in question was to blame for the failed vote, but really it’s irrelevant. The vote should have been taken again, and the fact that the “opposition” are not demanding it demonstrates the basic corruption of the Welsh Senedd.

The policy was always morally unacceptable, and as a result of this travesty it is democratically illegitimate as well.

Nobody should feel bound by it, and it’s up to the people of Wales to act appropriately.

Ms Staffurth labelled it a “brilliant idea”, not least because there are three young people in her family. “If they’re in large groups then we’ll know they’re around people who are double vaccinated”.

And how will that help, seeing that random double vaccinated adults around you in those groups are more likely to be COVID ‘cases’ than the unvaccinated?

And since Pfizer confirms that after a few months vaccine effectiveness against infection is ‘not statistically significantly different from zero.”

PHE states “Vaccine effectiveness is estimated by comparing rates of disease in vaccinated individuals to rates in unvaccinated individuals.” Right you are:

Ms Staffurth is in for a nasty surprise if she thinks that only interacting with vaxxed is safe. Scanning a QR code doesn’t mean the person is not infectious and the latest data shows that anyone over 30 is more likely to be infected if they are jabbed than the unvaccinated.

The lack of understanding is staggering. One has to suspect that she gets all her information from the BBC and the Western Mail.

I know of a hermit hiding from the hobgoblin who recently tested PCR positive after a LFT, double-jabbed of course.
I also know of a booster taker who’s still not well 4 days later

Plus – if the recent government public discussion document about vaccine passports is anything to go by, there will be exemptions present at these events – officials, emergency services, the police and others. Leaving aside all the other science, the virus doesn’t distinguish who’s been vaccinated. The illogicality of all this is mind-boggling!

Considering the levels ofobesity in Wales, I can’t help but think that losing weight would be a significantly more successful way of beating the deadly Covid than waving their precious vax passports. Maybe a few vitamins as well. Revolutionary though that may be.

The idea of the vaxx is a far cry from keeping people well, so dieting and vitamins are both non-starters.

The quotes from the randomly chosen vaccinated people are nothing if not hilarious.

It’ll still be the fault of the unvaccinated when these morons catch it anyway so not to worry!!

Oh the irony!
Yet another example of how just about everything related to Covid is completely ar$e about face. It’s Ms. Staffurth who’s in her own litttle bubble, blissfully unaware of her ignorance and of the constant lies, bias and misinformation from MSM and the government.

Did anyone here Marianna Spring on BBC Radio 4 ‘World at One’ today? Unbelievable. No pretence to offer a fair and even handed report. It was so blatantly one sided: the government and vaccines are all good – those that question them are all extremists, nutters who are increasingly radicalised and leaning towards violence. I couldn’t believe my ears. Grrrrr!

I heard it and your summary is perfect. None of the legitimate questions those unwilling to be injected so far have, were aired. The exchange was with Lady Muck herself Sarah Montague, who was as superior and arrogant as ever. What an unpleasant pair of shills!

The girl Spring is a long way off challenging Lady Muck for her job, no obvious broadcasting talent to my ears.

Hi Rowan,
Actually, I don’t.
I watch, listen and read a variety of media with an open mind – so I can get a balanced view. While my general thinking is very much in line with most DS subscribers, if all my info’ was based solely on what I read here, or heard on James Delingpole’s podcast or watched on UKColumn news – that would be just as bad as only ever reading The Guardian and watching/listening to the BBC. So, while it’s very annoying to listen to the nonsense trotted out by the likes of Ms. Spring – it would be hypocritical of me to accuse Ms. Staffurth of existing in her own little bubble if I did the same (on the flip side of the coin) and never ventured beyond the DS echo chamber – lovely, warm and comforting though it is.

Personally, I think it was a fiddled vote. It is very easy to deny someone access to a zoom meeting.

That’s possible, but it doesn’t really matter: If parliament sits partially remotely, no parliamentary activity must take place before everyone who wants to attend remotely has verifiably gained the necessary access for that. This is not some kind of oh-well-gaming-machine-has-crashed-again situation. If there’s a technical issue which cannot be resolved in time, whatever the activity was supposed to be must be postponed.

It’s normal for people to believe in what authorities are telling them pretty unquestioningly. Especially, if it’s also in line with what they’re used to. All of Corona was about do XYZ to benefit the others. Hence, the most recent incarnation of that, get jabbed to benefit the others, just fits into the established framework. These are all variants of nobody is safe until everyone is save which is – in turn – a descendant of nothing’s agreed until everything’s agreed of Brexit negotiation fame. The propaganda of these people is really singularly unoriginal.

The controversial lost vote was nothing of the sort. The Westminster government want vaccine passpprts for England and so gerrymandered the Welsh vote to ensure they happen in Wales. While pretending to be opposed to them.

So obvious. So blatant. If they really opposed it they aould have raised merry Hell after the vote. But the member involved is blocking people on Twitter asking searching questions about what exactly happened to deny his vote.

The Tories wanted the vote to go through.

Splattt

After today there is a significant hint that he was indeed asked to not vote.

We know Boris wants them in, its in Plan B. He wants them.

Politically its very hard if his own party voted them down in Wales.

Ultimately what screwed him is Plaid were expected to vote yes so the tory vote wouldn’t have mattered. Plaid’s last minute change to vote no screwed that up so the alternative was to get someone to not vote.

The MS in question has spent the last 24 hours blocking absolutely everybody posing completely fair questions to him or simply things like asking for a timeline of events.
It really does look like he was told not to vote.

Meanwhile it took Drakeford less than 8 hours of the things going live to state their use might have to be expanded into other areas.
