A Quarter of Football League Players Don’t Intend to Get ‘Jabbed’

Coverage of the vaccination rates within English football clubs rages on, with the papers and Government figures likely fuming that a quarter of Football League players don’t intend to get ‘jabbed’. Unsurprisingly, reports blame “conspiracy theories” for swaying the minds of the “vaccine rebels”. The Mail on Sunday has the story.

The proportion of footballers who have been double-vaccinated has increased from approximately 18% in August to 49% in the latest set of figures collated by the League.

But the number of players who have been immunised or plan to get the jab has gone up by only 5% over the past month, the Mail on Sunday has learnt.

“Approximately 75% of players this month across the EFL are fully vaccinated, have had a single jab or intend to be vaccinated, which is up from 70% in the last set of figures,” a source said.

It is understood that some players are reluctant to get vaccinated against the disease because their youth and level of fitness mean they are unlikely to suffer should they contract it.

They are also concerned by stories of people suffering heart inflammation after taking the vaccine, even though official medical agencies have reported such cases as “very rare”.

One theory circulating among players is that Christian Eriksen’s cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 might have been linked to the jab, despite no medical evidence to support the suggestion.

The latest figures emerge even though the EFL have stepped up efforts to “bust the myths” around the vaccine’s safety and to educate players on its benefits for individuals and society. Posters and leaflets containing such information have been distributed to clubs in the hope that they will be displayed in stadiums and training grounds.

The EFL are also working with the NHS to increase the number of mobile vaccination centres visiting clubs.

“Vaccinations will preserve the integrity of our competitions and we’re continuing to educate players and staff,” the source said.

The EFL and Premier League recorded a video with professor Jonathan Van-Tam last month in which the Government’s Deputy Chief Medical Officer debunked some of the conspiracy theories.

It was circulated among players’ WhatsApp groups, with the Government hoping their willingness to get vaccinated would encourage other young people to follow suit as take-up stalled in the general population.

Worth reading in full.

When, not if, the Nazi pass is introduced, it’s going to be interesting to see how they’ll justify all the fans having to be injected when the players aren’t.
A real spanner in the works, hence the witch hunt to get them jabbed.
My guess is it’ll all go quiet with none of the players having to declare they’re jabbed or shamefully admit they aren’t.
No checking of the Nazi pass for them.

“It is understood that some players are reluctant to get vaccinated against the disease because their youth and level of fitness mean they are unlikely to suffer should they contract it.”

This is of course true for everyone under the age of about 70 who are otherwise healthy. And true of most older people too.

I haven’t had the jab and I’m fit and healthy. Caught covid. Was rough for about three days. I was much worse when I had flu. If you’re fit and healthy, the chances are you’re highly likely to be fine, as Whitty said at the beginning of all of this. He soon changed his stance when he found out the money he will make from vaccines though.

realarthurdent

Yes, maybe the footballers refusing the jab listened to the Whitty statement last March about most people experiencing no symptoms or mild illness from the virus, and then switched off the BBC and got on with their lives, rather as I did.

Whitty’s volte face was an early sign for me that the response had little to do with public health and everything to do with money, corruption, or something even more sinister, being undertaken glibally, in lockstep.

Whitty said the same as this on 11 May 2020, after the fear campaign had begun. He must have forgotten the script. It’s still on Y.tube.

Professor John Ioannidis has conveyed the same message since March 2020, i.e. keep calm and carry on. Some experts can’t be ‘bought’. Unfortunately, governments mainly employ the kind who can.

I haven’t had the jab, but I am suffering from inoperable and incurable cancer. Apparently I had Covid two weeks ago; no symptoms whatsoever, apart from a slight sore throat. No temperature, not in bed, no cough, nothing. My wife was told she had it as well, also no symptoms. I have had worse hangovers in my youth, let alone a normal winter cold or flu. Maybe taking vitamin supplements helps, especially if you are old like me. I had been extremely fit and active all my life so getting cancer was a bit of a shock four years ago.

Glad to know that. Also, lot’s of us don’t even know precisely. It was not the norm to try and find out exactly what the cause of similar infections was – something affected me just before the panic was announced in early 2020. No-one wants to know the detail re like that at all; no profit that way, after all (unless one wants to pay for certain firms to do the work to assess what one had in the recent past and thus likely to be immune to).

If it’s true about the hard running Leeds United side (for example) flagging towards the end of games, with a possible correlation with having a high number of “vaccinated” players in the squad compared to some other teams, there would in any case be sound professional reasons for wanting to avoid it – especially if it is likely to have effects (note – not “affects”!) in the days after “vaccination” that will affect (definitely not effect!) a player’s training.

Blimey, another one! If we had so many incidents every season before 2021, I don’t remember it, and I’ve read a fair few sports reports in that time. Definitely nothing high profile like with Eriksen for years. I remember the Bolton player, I seem to remember a Manchester City player, and that’s about it in the last decade or two.

They’re certainly interested in things which will affect their professional performance, and more than capable of finding out (or at any rate getting their agent to find out for them!). Story I heard is that footballers tend to come across badly in interviews after games when they are knackered and in no state to give a particularly erudite interview. Still, I don’t doubt that there are plenty of intelligent, clued up footballers who will know about these things – and being social creatures, word will soon get around. Innit!

Haha, I have an interest in sport, and my own opinions about professional sportsmen. And I’d love to see a league table with a column for the number of “vaccinated” players in each team (though I suspect information on this is patchy). Did we ever find out if Christian Eriksen had been “vaccinated”? RickH said my memory is playing tricks on me about this sort of thing suddenly becoming common. Still, I seem to remember a post that this sort of thing had actually seen an increase in American sport (i.e. “USA”) in 2021 compared to previous years. At any rate, it would be good to know for certain.

Just seen two really interesting telly adverts at 1pm on Sunday in the UK, Channel 5.
First, Irwin Mitchell solicitors touting for personal injury business, focusing on a girl of about 10. Voiceover is about ‘accidents’ and no mention of ‘medical mistakes’ like there used to be but hopefully it’s a sign the govts legal case for forcing their evil on kids isn’t watertight.
Immediately afterwards, an advert for a company called Nature’s Bounty selling vitamins, the three products shown at the end were Vit c and zinc, a Vit b complex, and a skin hair and nails formula (which is Vit b and zinc).
If you happen to watch telly during the week it’s all about life insurance and non-attended cremations….

Or for that matter if they knew for a fact that Eriksen (and the rest had not had these injections?

I still have some contacts from my time based in Newcastle as a reporter and my understanding from them on what the talk in the football world is about the Cristian Eriksen incident is that the heart attack happened very soon after his jab, which he took specifically for the tournament. Which might explain a lot about the reluctance.

Hi artfelix,
I thought Christian Eriksen hadn’t had the jab at the time of his cardiac arrest? At least, that was the official line at the time and those that made the (false?) claim that he was jabbed were quickly corrected and branded as purveyors of fake news. Do you know for sure that the claim he was unvaccinated was false and that he had in fact had the jab prior to his collapse? If so, that’s a news story that warrants exposure and would certainly explain why some players are reluctant to have it.

I can’t say for sure, but certainly the word among the professionals at a large Newcastle-based sporting institution (cough) seems to be that he had been jabbed.

The chief medic for Inter originally confirmed this, but then (was made to) correct this.

However, all the subsequent announcements from the club and football authorities were very careful to say Eriksen was “not vaccinated” rather than he had not had an injection.

My understanding is that he had the first jab of the Pfizer vaccine on May 31st – less than two weeks before collapsing – but had not had the second jab and so was able to be declared “not vaccinated” by those with a vested interest in doing so.

However, most people in football know he had the jab and it is playing a big part in the hesitancy.

Ah yes of course, not “vaccinated” in their jargon until two weeks after the second “vaccination”! This same con is skewing mortality figures as well, isn’t it?

In any sane, rational society, given that, statistically speaking, COVID-19 poses no risk to this cohort, this would be the headline. But oh no, we have it bum about boat, and the establishment is rattled because only 75% of footballers have chosen to get a novel and experimental injection for a disease which poses them no risk.

Still a quarter of EPL footballers holding out in Blighty? Let Dan Andrews from Jabs ‘R’ Us, located in bucolic Victoria, fix that for you with his patented Miracle Mandate for Sportspersons. Under the Glorious Leader’s latest edict, all workers in Victoria who have contact in any way, shape or form with other people must be double-stabbed to continue working (or face steep fines until they, and their employer, see the error of their ways). This includes professional athletes, who must  have received their first jab by October 15th, and their second by November 26th, in order to train and play.   This is expected to sift out the last remaining pockets of resistance in all sporting codes. ‘Vaccination’ rates were already high in many Australian Rules Football clubs, for example, with most clubs reported to be well over 80% double-stabbed (the defeated Grand Finalists, the Western Bulldogs, for example, had already revealed that 100% of their squad were double-dosed). Most had already caved to the blackmail that, as the Australian Football League boss put it, that “if we want to get our lives back and get back to doing things the simple way, and opening up, we need to be vaccinated”. They had all… Read more »

So had Eriksen had the jab? I believe that information has been suppressed.

But anyway, incidents of myocarditis/pericarditis amongst young men isn’t very rare. It is now very well documented. You are conflating two separate conditions. Eriksen had a sudden cardiac arrest, from which 12 young people die every week in the U.K., not necessarily myocarditis. From the myocarditis foundation: ”In simple terms, myocarditis is a disease that causes inflammation of the heart muscle. This inflammation enlarges and weakens the heart, creates scar tissue and forces it to work harder to circulate blood and oxygen throughout the body. While we often associate cardiovascular conditions with elderly populations, myocarditis can affect anyone, including young adults, children and infants. In fact, it most often affects otherwise healthy, young, athletic types with the high-risk population being those of ages from puberty through their early 30’s, affecting males twice as often as females. Myocarditis is the 3rd leading cause of Sudden Death in children and young adults.” ”Viral infections are a leading cause of myocarditis. Inflammation occurs during the course of infection, putting stress on the heart that remains even after the infection is resolved. Cancer, bacterial infections and other contagious diseases can also cause myocarditis, as can exposure to environmental toxins ranging from metal poisons to spider and snake venom. A significantly smaller group of individuals with autoimmune conditions, may develop giant cell myocarditis.… Read more »

What non-infectious factors cause myocarditis? In some cases, the drugs prescribed to protect our health can also cause myocarditis. These include anti-cancer drugs, antibiotics, and anti-seizure medications.
Exposure to a variety of toxins can also result in myocarditis. These include:

  • Alcohol
  • Radiation
  • Hydrocarbons, arsenic, and other chemicals
  • Lead
  • Some illegal drugs, like cocaine/ecstasy/MDMA
  • Unfortunately, many people do not know the serious risks of consuming those drugs. More information can be found on websites such as the National Institute of Drug Abuse”
