Ministers have now confirmed the infection fatality rate of COVID-19 is 0.096%, comparable to flu””

But is it that? Take into account the massive over-estimation of Covid illness and the fact that mortality is concentrated at the natural end of life, and what have you really got as a comparison??

It’s infuriating! The Twitter comments “When has flu ever killed 180,000 people in 18 months”. OLD AGE you idiots 18×30=540 x1500(daily deaths typical for this country)= 810,000!!! Only excess mortality counts.

Oh f’ it, why do I care what bots think anyways, their responses are so similar and formulaic that if they aren’t bots and are real people then we really are screwed.

The worst aspect of all this is that the majority of people have wanted them to change everyone’s lives. We suspected the IFR was at 0.1% since Ionnidis did his numbers 18 months ago, same as flu. But most wanted to believe, they wanted to be scared, they wanted lockdown and to be paid to work from home or not work at all. They wanted to wear the badge of compliance, the mask. They wanted to be able to declare how good they were by being injected with an unproven gene therapy. Now they want a devisive society, they want the unbelievers to be punished. They want to live in a fascist biosecurity state/world. They want to be controlled, they want to be told what to do. They want a social credit system. It gives them a purpose, a belief something to replace ‘religion’, its their religion. Most will want all the pain of living in an energy constrained society. Most of them are stark raving mad. But because it is ‘most of them’ , their madness is shared and society just goes mad together. The slightly less mad, the non conformists are left with a very bleak future because… Read more »

The pain of living in an energy-constrained society? No, they won’t want that, because it would inconvenience them, in a way that being paid to pig it at home didn’t inconvenience them.
You can always rely on selfishness, laziness and greed being the primary motivations.
Unless you think that all those queueing drivers were scrambling to fill their own tanks so that their mates didn’t go short.

Yes, quite. Their virtue-signalling doesn’t go beyond the point where it would seriously inconvenience them. OK, lack of foreign holidays for a year or two is a bit of an inconvenience, but one which they are prepared to tolerate if it ushers in a new world of “working from home”.

180000/.00096 = 187,500,000. One of those numbers is wrong and I’m pretty sure I know which.

United Airlines threatens to fire hundreds of staff for refusing Covid vaccine

Of course. This way they can virtue signal while making lay offs they’re going to be forced to make anyway thanks to their ever shrinking business.

A business they’ve helped to shrink by being the front runners for every hysterical covid measure, from masks to tests to vaxx passports.

Thanks for posting, but almost wish I hadn’t read it because it is nothing short of absolute madness. How can people – rational people with functioning brains think like that? Has the jab done something to their brains, is there something in it which finishes off the brainwashing????

ITEM: “Zero Covid has torn Australia apart” – We’re not learning to live with the virus, we’re learning to live with authoritarianism, James Bolt asserts in Spiked The Zero Covid delusion continues to ruin Australia – soldiers on the streets enforcing lockdowns, riot police doing their head-bashing thing, crazy social distancing rules sucking all the joy out of life, etc. etc.  The chronic authoritarianism Downunda has prompted Ron de Santis to call our strategy “dramatically off the rails”, likening Australia to “communist China” (a touch hyperbolic, that last bit, but not a million miles removed from reality in crucial respects – police states, censorship, democratic and human rights abuses, etc). Sane people who never signed up to the hysteria down here can be too eager to seek out any glimpses of hope. Just yesterday, we all here at The DS (myself included) got a bit excited, against our better, more cynical nature, over the report that the New South Wales police would not be doing ‘papers please’ raids on shops, restaurants, bars and pubs, hairdressers, and gyms and sporting and entertainment venues to crack down on unvaccinated people entering those venues in contravention of forthcoming ‘public health orders’ (which, under the… Read more »

So they have an “Immunisation” register containing a list of people who aren’t immune from catching or getting ill from the virus they have been “immunised” against! A fine piece of Orwellian language-use there.

Of course this isn’t a one-off – UK politicians like to use the word “immune” too when it suits, despite it now being very obvious that the vaccines do not confer immunity or anything close to it.

I wouldn’t put it past Covid Karens (“She’s hiding in the attic!”) to organise stings against businesses and dob them in for failing to toe the line.

When people who are understandably angry at this kind of aggressive abuse of state force to ruin their lives take forceful action against the aggressors, it will be trumpeted of course as an outrage – blaming the victim for fighting back.

But the blame rests with the totalitarians, not with the victims.

They’ll be encouraging kids to report their parents next – as predicted by Orwell in 1984 (that book and Huxley’s Brave New World seem to have been used as policy manuals by governments for the past 18 months).

Thanks for the update, Phil. It’s horrifying. Can I ask: How do you get supplies and food if you haven’t been jabbed and don’t have a smart phone? How are you getting by? I’m genuinely interested and very concerned for you all, for what this means for all of us eventually.

Fortunately (for now) I reside in South Australia (no ‘convict stain on us! – founded as our state was by free settlers from Blighty, Germany, etc.) where we are late adopters of the eastern state Covid autocracies where vaccine passports and their attendant horrors are imminent. At the moment, South Australia has just the contact-tracing QR sign-in not yet linked to jab status and that can be circumvented by doing a manual sign-in (I keep my smartphone holstered and usually use Ned Kelly as my name, and a random phone no., but a BTL commenter here also suggested using C Dundee which I now use for a bit of variety). I doubt they will allow a manual declaration of Covid jab status, however, when it comes about. When it comes to purchasing food, I imagine our Dear Leaders would be looking at Lithuania, I think it is, where the unjabbed get a strict time limit (15 minutes once a day) to enter shops. Who thought that the land of the bronzed Aussie larrikin, foe of the Tall Poppy, would be the canary in the Covid coalmine for the rest of the world. Thanks for your concern – it really means… Read more »

Well, since they can’t do science, it stands to reason they can’t do maths, either (adding a total up to 100% seems beyond them) but the reference to the vaxxed being the majority of hospital admissions are just words coming out of their mouths that don’t lead to any conclusion – like the Vaxx doesn’t work, because that would blow the Jab Everyone strategy for getting out of their lockdown policy pickle clean out of water.

We’re not learning to live with the virus, we’re learning to live with authoritarianism.

This is indeed a priceless line, and one pursued and adopted by all other governments and ‘authorities’ as well.
Jeffrey Tucker recenrly wrote and wondered about OZ too.
https://brownstone.org/articles/only-freedom-can-fix-a-broken-australia/
I think much of the peoples consent and zeal there with regard to eradication can also be explained by their decade long effort to keep foreign seeds etc. out- inspecting your golf shoes etc..
They are mixing up the sense and success in that area with the irrational and ultimately unsuccessful pursuit with regard to Covid- not helped but worsened by their initial temporary success purely due to luck.
Also, Dan Andrew’s statement, like similar ones of others, that one must now live with the virus is not meant to be understood as a precursor to a change of policies, to the contrary- doubling down on them is now even more critital for THEIR survival- but as an elimination of a yardstick to measure success, born out of the realization that the goal can’t be reached and was wrong.
This will give them even more leeway and eliminates accountability even more, if not even at all.

These fines are just ludicrous. Humungously disproportionate!

How can these cops feel that it is ok to dish these out? The cops are people who live among us; have families, friends, and so on. Why this Jeckyl and Hyde behaviour?

I often point out to others that you have to wonder what motivates a fair proportion of people to want to become a police officer in the first place. Unfortunately, for a majority, I believe ego/power/superiority is the motivation/drive and ‘reward’.
But still their behaviour shocks me.

Everyone on the planet, we all belong to the family of the human race. Cops are supposed to be driven by justice and fairness; right and wrong. Instead, their uniform/position is nothing more than a psychological hard-on for most of them.

Surprised that this story not picked up on the site.

Police Should Have To Choose Between Vaccination And Their Pensions, Former Obama Official Says

A former Obama administration official has said that police officers should lose their pensions if they do not receive the COVID-19 vaccination because unvaccinated people need “something to be taken away from them” if they won’t “adult up.”

“I sort of stopped caring about anyone’s feelings. Like, I’m done with feelings,” she said. “Like, you either get the vaccine and get to do all the things the vaccinated get to do, or you don’t and you don’t get to do all the things vaccinated do.”

To me such viewpoints epitomize evil.

It’s cult behaviour – even if someone believed in coerced vaccination with an effective vaccine there would be some logic (albeit logic that many of us wouldn’t agree was justified), but in this case there is literally no logical justification – the “vaccines” do not appear to have any measurable impact on spread, and the claims that they prevent serious illness and death are looking very shaky indeed.

Which is why, when being maskless and thus visibly not being a member of the “cult”, it’s best to keep a straight face.

Terrible though to be part of a story from The Twilight Zone.

This is how desperate they are, this is the level of evil they are prepared to exert over people, because they are threatened. Their state-mandated injectable isn’t being accepted by people, they know their brainwashing hasn’t worked on all people, and truths, despite forcibly shutting down any discussion, people and platforms that have exposed them, have still got out to the wider public. This level of desperation shows that they are terrified of losing control. More than ever, we have really hold hard and stand firm!

Some relevant numbers here to address the Remainer propaganda bullshit that tries to blame driver shortages on Brexit (of course). In reality, the vast majority of the drop in numbers is in British drivers, and it’s to do with government incompetence, poor wages and conditions (that companies were able to get away with for ages thanks to European drivers undercutting UK drivers), and covid bollocks.

There is no driver shortage.
This is a deliberate manufactured crisis.
A driver shortage would havedeveloped and been felt gradually over many/all products, not culminated suddenly in the most strategic one.

There is no driver shortage.
This is a deliberate manufactured crisis.

The two are not mutually exclusive.

Regardless, the Remainer propaganda needs to be refuted.

(Though I’m not averse to the suggestion of a deliberately precipitated crisis as well – and an existing shortage situation only makes it easier for such a crisis to be manufactured, the reality is that driver shortages have precisely developed and been felt gradually – there have been warnings and averted or mini-crises over months now. A competent government would have prevented it by giving DVLA a kick up the backside and introducing measures to increase indigenous driver numbers starting two years ago.)
