Extra 10,000 Brits Likely to Die of Cancer Due to Drop in Emergency Referrals during Lockdown, According to New Study

A drop in emergency referrals for cancer over the past year of lockdowns is likely to result in an extra 10,000 deaths from the disease, according to a new study. In particular, the “stay at home, protect the NHS” message is believed to have put people off coming forward and ‘burdening’ the health service for check-ups, meaning their symptoms were not investigated. MailOnline has the story.

University College London researchers said a drop in emergency referrals from GPs last year across the U.K. resulted in around 40,000 late diagnoses of the disease.

These delays and longer waits for NHS treatment – fuelled by the pandemic – mean thousands will die “significantly earlier” from the disease than would have been the case pre-pandemic.

The study of more than 2,000 adults found nearly two thirds of people worried about bothering family doctors with “minor health problems” because of Covid.

And during the first lockdown last year, the NHS moved GP appointments to online and telephone to limit face-to-face consultations. Number 10’s “stay at home, protect the NHS, save lives” messaging put people off coming forward, meaning their symptoms were never investigated. …

Just 57% of GP appointments are now in person compared with 80% before the pandemic.

A senior coroner in Manchester earlier this month concluded a lack of face-to-face care contributed to at least five deaths in the area during the pandemic. …

23 million appointments, whether face-to-face or otherwise, were also “lost” during the pandemic.

Out of the 2,000 people polled by UCL, those above 65 – the group who require the most healthcare – were the least likely to want to see their doctor remotely.

Some 56% in that age group opposed having more telephone and online consultations, while 24% were in favour of them.

And only 46% of people aged 18 to 24 wanted more remote appointments, with more than a quarter (28%) against them.

Our revolting bbb Government were only too happy to waste £400 billion (to be paid by our children and grandchildren) on a mild flu illness -imagine if that cash had been used for cancer or building hospitals. There should be no hiding places for these corrupt shysters when more wake up.

As long as all the blood spitting lung cancer patients wear their masks, everyone’s protected and safe. Only admit them to hospital if fully jabbed, of course.

Well they might look like they’re sick and dying but how do you actually know until they’ve had a positive PCR?!

How will a PCR tell you that?

I recall last year a revelation that women were being made to wear masks during childbirth. I think they would insist on blood-spitting cancer patients wearing masks without hesitation.

I suppose it’s helpful, or moderately informative, that some estimates of the damage caused are now being produced. I would have supposed that, if it seemed rather evident to me that this was likely, in whatever degree, the same might also have occurred to Government, Whitty, the NHS and the MSM. Apparently, not so.

It is astonishing that these things are now reported in terms varying from mild surprise to medium concern, with almost no condemnation or trenchant criticism, when they, and those responsible, should be excoriated.

Plainly a misplaced trust in the goodness and ability of at least a few people. However reluctantly, I suppose that the only workable approach nowadays is “believe no-one, trust nothing, suspect everything and everyone”. One hell of a state of affairs.

Neil Ferguson would love to stamp their death certificates with ‘Covid’. Win win. No cancer deaths, more Covid ‘cases’, time for more lockdowns! And another bung from China via Imperial College!

The evil explanation for their behaviour over the past 18 month in denying or coercing people from seeking treatment is that every person who dies saves the government money from the social care budget.

They did know – or should have known – this would happen. Same with suicides, drug overdoses, mental health cases, etc. You could add patients who have had severe adverse reactions to the vaccines – and debilitating health conditions – to this list of expanding public health casualties.

And has anyone noticed the REAL rate of inflation? Long-term, this is going to be a giant killer as well.

The QALY of these 10,000 could easily be greater than the QALY of those who’s death cert mentioned COVID if they’re younger (although both diseases seem to be risked in line with failing immune system (aging)).

steve_z

absolutely. and it is only one aspect of the effect of lockdowns.

The reduction in GDP and consequent reduction in funds for the health service was predicted to lose more QUALYs than saved back in March last year

A crucial point. Then – to get a real proportionate view, subtract the false ‘Covid’ diagnoses from the other side of the equation.

younger than the covid fatalities too I’d imagine. More QALYs

What world class NHS? Diagnosis by email/phone, A&E has to be used because GPs are inaccesible, delayed hospital appointments (if ever booked),

It appears Kinnock was right all those years ago!

My local GP invited me for a standard health check a couple months ago. I booked an appointment, shared my disapproval that masks are compulsory, then got a call a couple days later saying that blood tests can not be done due to shortages in vials.

I decided to cancel my appointment.

Without blood tests, a standard health check is pretty pointless. Added to that is the mask mandate. We pay our taxes for this shit.

John Setka now gone into the witness protection programme! Has a shady history:

“Blackmail charges brought against construction union bosses John Setka and Shaun Reardon have been dropped by Victorian prosecutors.
They told a hearing in the Melbourne’s Magistrates’ Court that “after consideration of the facts, we have been advised to withdraw”.”

Looks like they were threatened. Horse’s heads in their beds?

Everyone who is dying of cancer due to not being able to have examinations or treatment for the past 18 months can go round to the the homes of those responsible for the ‘lockdowns’ and have a word with them, if they are unhappy with their situation.

Anecdotally, I am hearing of a lot of new cancer diagnoses in my state and town in recent weeks and months. I have no doubt the number of the treatable or unnecessary cancer deaths is going to be staggering.

And that’s just cancer deaths. “Public health” has been HARMED greatly.

This whistleblower seems sincere and believable to me. Her story does lead credence to those of us who think the VAERS reports are just the tip of the iceberg. If you have time to watch the full detailed report, note that this physician’s assistant says that incidence of recurring and strange cancers has gone up noticeably since the rollout of the vaccines. Also, many cases of summer pneumonia she does’t understand.

And all those ‘too scared to go to hospital’ – and all the other fatal conditions – my guess is millions the world over have died from treatable conditions due to fear and restricted care – it’s mass murder and that’s even before the deadly jab victims – so when people tell me everything is a ok – I cannot respond – just seek fellow dissidents and keep up the good fight.

My Father died this May at the age of 62 due in no small part to his GP surgery refusing to see him face to face, they miss diagnosed a brain tumor as mental health issues. 11 weeks of my wonderful mother dealing with the GP receptionist Gaslighting her in to believing she was just being silly and over reacting. It took my brother and I to take him down to the surgery and insist they see him before they realized their mistake, 10 minutes later he was in the local hospital being given a bed. By this point he had lost the use of his left eye, was incontinent, was lost in his memories and couldn’t stay still long enough for any type of last ditch radiotherapy. I can not describe the anger I feel everyday, not so much for the fact that my dad is dead and didn’t know what was happening to him but for the abject failure of the NHS and the lack of any empathy for what happen. As an aside my Dad was staunchly against getting the Covid Vaccine and my mum had made it clear that he was not to be administered the… Read more »

So sorry to hear that your Father had to suffer so much as a reult of the Covid Health Service. To know that doctors sign up to the ‘first do no harm’ philosophy makes this even more onscene. And sadly I guess there is no option to sue the GP practice for such dereliction of care. Grrrr

We spoke with a specialist solicitor who deals with clinical negligence. They believed that negligence had occured but that due to the likely outcome being the same if treatment had been given any compensation would be minimal and likely not cover legal costs. They pointed my Mum in the direction of the NHS “ombudsman” and we are awaiting the outcome of that.

The whole system stinks and I am glad I can afford private health care for my family and I.

My condolences to you and yours – horrific. I am afraid that your experience is the “under the radar” real life experience of Lawyers operating in this sphere. Clearly I do not have all the facts – it is the case, for example, that “no win, no fee” is nothing of the kind because such Lawyers will only take on cases where they can insure their fees with a specialist insurer – this lump sum cost will eventually be paid by the litigant. If the Insurers deem the chances of winning the case to be less than 50:50, no cover, therefore no case going forward, regardless of the otherwise meritorious elements of the circumstances.

Even referring the medics to the GMC/HAC might well be a waste of time effort and cause more strife. I had an open and shut case put to the GMC – 2 doctors shot themselves in the foot for material gain, documents proved it 100% – GMC declined to take action.

I wish you and your family a better outcome with the Ombudsman.

A neighbour has been diagnosed with terminal cancer (I don’t know of what, and don’t like to ask) a couple of months ago, and was told that if they had been able to see her and diagnose it towards the end of last year, they may well have been able to treat it successfully.
