Covid Vaccines for Children Would Not Be Approved before Full Investigation in Normal Times, Says Government Advisor
These – undoubtedly – aren’t normal times. If they were, the Covid vaccine would not have been approved for healthy children until it had been fully investigated, says Professor Adam Finn. He adds that parents are justified in waiting until more is understood about the risks of vaccinating children before getting their teenagers ‘jabbed’. The Times has the story.
Professor Finn, a member of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation, says that in normal times, the vaccine would not have been recommended for widespread use in children until the long-term consequences of rare side effects had been fully investigated.
Parents are justified in waiting until the risks are clearer before getting their teenagers vaccinated and the NHS needs to spell out the uncertainty over long-term effects better, he argues on this page.
He fears that if some children eventually suffer lifelong health risks without being told of known concerns, trust in other vaccination programmes and wider Government health advice will be undermined. …
Given the huge uncertainty over the extent of the risks, Finn, professor of paediatrics at the University of Bristol, is concerned that parents and children have not fully understood the concerns that gave the JCVI pause and led to months of agonising over whether children should be offered the jab.
Finn insists that doctors need to be transparent about the “extremely uncommon” risks. He says that expert disagreement over possible side effects “cannot be an argument to downplay important information or to present the evidence as clearly pointing only in one direction when it doesn’t”.
An NHS leaflet to be given to children says only that “most people [suffering heart inflammation] recovered and felt better following rest and simple treatments”.
Writing with Guido Pieles, the consultant cardiologist who advised the JCVI, Finn explains that U.S. cardiologists are seeing signs of scarring in the hearts of otherwise healthy teenagers who suffer rare post-vaccine inflammation.
While they say that it is “perfectly possible that these changes will resolve completely over time”, they warn that such scarring is known to carry a risk of “life-threatening arrhythmias or sudden cardiac arrest”.
As coronavirus vaccines are so new, it is not yet known if the same serious long-term dangers will result. However Finn and Pieles said that “in normal times a rare, new and poorly understood process of this kind would be painstakingly studied over a longer period before any decisions were made”.
Given the pandemic, they acknowledge that many believe “we currently don’t have the luxury of time for more evidence”, making it much harder to issue authoritative advice.
Finn and Pieles suggest that parents consider waiting six months or so until the longer-term consequences of heart changes start to become clear, saying: “This is not a decision that needs to be rushed, and choosing to wait for more evidence is perfectly legitimate.”

Another example of psychology, introduce some extreme position (kids need jabs which carry more risk than the illness they are for) then roll back slightly (but wait a few months maybe or weight it up risk reward for yourselves), so that it is accepted that they need them, just not when.

It was but in the public comment section. This is often ignored. I remember going to an AdComm for a very rare disease drug, where someone in the public comment section stood up and said that the drug (which evidently worked) to treat life threatening angioedema attacks shouldn’t be approved as there weren’t enough black people in the study. The study only had about 150 patients as the disease was so rare, and there are genetic components to the disease, so there were fewer black people than there are in the broader population.
The committee were just like like , yeah yeah yeah, public comments…..usual soap box rubbish….

The imposition of totalitarian measures for a pretty ordinary infection is certainly not ‘normal’. But in health terms? It certainly is ‘normal’ – a variant of a family of known viruses making no exceptional impact on illness and mortality when judged by a representative recent sample of years, even if certain particular characteristics are tken into account. You would expect senior medical academics to have their heads round this fact. So – there are no ‘exceptional’ circumstances to justify short-circuiting a normal test programme – just exceptional political acts. Particularly exceptional is the behaviour of government and its agencies taking on the role of a PR organisation for promoting a pharmaceutical product, rather than a consumer advocate. Paediatricians make their money (80% of their income in the USA and probably quite a chunk in private practice in the UK) from vaccinating children. He’s doing all right as a professor but promoting vaccines is his job!

True : you are not very likely to die or suffer from obvious damage from the jab. But you are similarly extremely unlikely to suffer from a severe bout of Covid.
However, the underlying effects of relatively lesser adverse events are totally unknown. And these have been gob-stoppingly common. So common, that any application of the ‘canary in the mine’ principle would normally have led to the immediate cessation of this uncontrolled experiment.

There is nothing for parents to wait for, as there is no benefit from these “vaccines”, least of all for children. The short term risks are from negligible and the long term risks are necessarily unknown. Parents should just say no, rather than playing Russian roulette with their children’s lives.

Remember, this was a small trial, with just 1131 children in the treatment arm.

Depends on the MP. Many slavishly follow the party line or blindly go along with perceived consensus. Some are more independently-minded or sensitive to the stirrings of a shift in public opinion. You never know, some of them might actually look at evidence.

I wonder if I’m allowed to post here? The bbc have banned me from posting and have deleted every single comment I made on vaccination of children. A few may have violated their house rules, but the vast majority presented reasonable arguments against vaccinating children. To delete every post simply because I wasn’t following the narrative tells me enough.

I have been waiting for the expose on Covid. The panorama documentary about testing procedures in the labs gained no traction. 18 months in, nothing to challenge the narrative.

This guy seems on the side of good. But the discussion is all round cardiomyopathy as though that’s the only risk. Parents aren’t thinking about the total risks – allergic reactions, Bell’s Palsy, tinnitus, sight problems neurological problems as with poor Maddie in the Pfizer child trial, suicidal ideation, also in that trial, and the rest. Many of these are very small risks, but put together they are significant surely – and that’s without the unknown long term possible risks on fertility etc.
