Restrictions to Be Scrapped in Denmark as Covid No Longer “A Critical Threat to Society”

Lockdown restrictions are set to be lifted in Denmark by September 10th after health officials said Covid no longer poses “a critical threat” to the country. Health Minister Magnus Heunicke has, however, warned that the Government “will not hesitate to act quickly” if the situation becomes worse once again. MailOnline has the story.

More than 70% of Danes are fully vaccinated and the low levels of Covid in the country led the Health Minister on Friday to announce that the virus is now “under control”.

“The epidemic is under control, we have record vaccination levels. That is why, on September 10th, we can lift the special rules we had to introduce in the fight against Covid,” Health Minister Magnus Heunicke said.

However, he stressed that “the epidemic is not over” and said the Government “will not hesitate to act quickly if the pandemic once again threatens the essential functioning of society”.

Denmark was one of the first countries to introduce a partial lockdown in March 2020, shutting down schools and non-essential businesses and services.

It has relaxed and reinforced its measures throughout the pandemic, and in April introduced a ‘corona passport’ granting holders access to businesses like restaurants, cinemas, gyms and hair salons.

That requirement was already lifted in some places such as museums on August 1st, and masks have not been mandatory on public transport in Denmark since August 14th.

A number of further restrictions are set to end on September 1th. From the start of the month, people will no longer be required to show a valid corona pass to sit in restaurants and bars, though a pass will still be required to enter nightclubs and other large events such as football matches until September 10th.

The change in the classification of Covid will not, however, affect rules on travel into Denmark, which are governed by a separate inter-party agreement which is due to expire in October, a spokesperson for the Health Ministry said.

Denmark has not seen more than five Covid-related deaths per day since February.

Great news…oh wait “warned that the Government “will not hesitate to act quickly  if the situation becomes worse once again.

So basically, more to come.

Unless a regime states it is abandoning PCR casedemic metrics, this will go on and on.

This is still war on the masses, they are just taking their boot up a bit to let us breath before stamping our faces this Autumn or Winter.

Oh wait, still need to show a covid pass to go to large events and nightclubs.
Oh wait, still need to show a negative PCR test to get in.

Sounds like UK’s “Freedom Day”, the day when you find out which freedoms are gone for ever.

Yes, until 10th september. Then ALL restrictions vanish.

Nope – still travel restrictions at the borders. The headline is misleading and untruthful.

Yes, until 10th september. Then ALL restrictions vanish.

But only until they are reimposed. Rather like here in the UK, where we all know that the relative freedoms of summer will disappear with the declining sun.

They may TRY to reimpose them, but this time we have to fight back better.

It’s superficially nice to see such glimmers of sanity, but aside from the likelihood of resumed panic as soon as people start sniffling over winter, the problem with the authoritarian panickers getting away with it like this is that we are now doomed to it being considered an acceptable policy option, forever.

Well, slight progress, I guess, but something is still rotten in the state of Denmark.

Shouldn’t bee too long before their infections are on the up as the “vaccine” efficiency wears off as seen in Israel and Iceland. Then I guess they slap back on the restrictions – Wonder what they will do with their covie-pass then?

I have just recovered from covid – part of the 99.5% that do recover in my age group. of course, the 0.5% who die are not average – they are the sickest 0.5% so I’d have my personal survival odds at more like 100%.

Fascinating that people are still getting “covid”. how come you haven’t had it already?

If you are looking at why the number of “infections” is rising then look no further than testing. It has gone up by over 20% in a week.
As for hospitalisations I got an insight from a friend whose daughter was ill with a positive test. She called an ambulance to go to hospital in the middle of the night and was dischargd later that morning. She will have gone down as a hospital admission (I know her and she is, shall we say, not stable, so I suspect was suffering from a panic attack).

The situation cannot be that bad if she got an ambulance to attend to her that quickly.

The headline looks great but when you read on…..epidemic is not over…..corona passport…blah blah blah, same old bollocks! Fuck Off Denmark, you’re no better than any of the other tyrannical states around Europe!

As always, Covid was never a ‘critical threat to society’ – that job was taken by government.

… and incidentally – Denmark has higher levels of ‘excess mortality’ (admittedly a dodgy measure) than the UK by Euromomo measurement. Just sayin’.

Didn’t it get downgraded from being a critical threat in the UK before we went into LD1?

Yes .. here is the link .. if you scroll to the top of the page you will see that it was updated on May 21st 2021 .. so the rating as NOT a high consequence disease still stands

You mean March 21st 2020 as the day it was downgraded from HCID classification don’t you?

So the Danish are free, the UK maybe, OZ & NZ maybe not. Even the pretense of a virus is pathetic now that they attempt to move on with the agenda

It’s not just restrictions that need to go, but the false narrative that covid is a threat requiring special measures.

Until that changes, interventions of one kind or another will continue indefinitely.

The false narrative won’t go until the MSM disengage from the teat of Government funding to perpetuate the propaganda.

I suspect they’re not testing the asymptomatic and are recording deaths more accurately than us. This must surely be another nail in our fat leaders coffin, I certainly hope so.

Covid never was a critical threat to society, to any country’s society, but good on the Danish gov for finally admitting it no longer is, even if they won’t admit it never was.

Lie number 1: “the epidemic is not over” – it’s over.
Lie number 2: the “pandemic” may become a threat – there never was a “pandemic”
Lie number 3: the “pandemic” may threaten the essential funcitoning of society – it is only YOU, government, that threatens the essential functioning of society.

Denmark. It looks good on paper that all restrictions will be lifted 11th Sept. But I would not bet on it.Denmark has a fairly competent Public Health Lead but as usual the politicians are in the lead  overruling anything sensible.
Denmark is perhaps surprisingly the world leader in testing per million people 13.8 million test per million people and even more than 3 times more than the lunatic UK testing system. The Danish government made a terrible mistake with mass slaughter of million minks ruin farmers in Jutland. That was even unlawful.
The only reason for this change in time of lifting restrictions is the many parties in the parliament. But there are too many morons in the other parties for us to feel safe that the restrictions will not come back. Denmark was spared the first wave, but they are already seeing increase in delta in common with the other Scandinavian countries. High vaccination is not going to stop that.
