Boris Johnson Will Impose New Lockdown if Reported Covid Deaths Reach Around 1,000 a Week, According to Government Sources
The Prime Minister is said to have devised a cost-benefit analysis to determine whether he should plunge the country into another lockdown. A Government adviser says Johnson would be minded to impose further restrictions if the reported number of Covid-related deaths in the U.K. over the space of a year looked likely to rise above 50,000 (that’s just under 1,000 a week, or 137 a day). i news has the story.
Downing Street has denied it has set any “acceptable level” of Covid deaths but one adviser, who has been close to the Government since coronavirus struck 18 months ago, told i that Prime Minister Boris Johnson had privately accepted that there would be at least a further 30,000 deaths in the U.K. over the next year, and that the Prime Minister would “only consider imposing further restrictions if that figure looked like it could rise above 50,000”.
The Government’s cost-benefit analysis on Covid measures is believed to set not only the acceptable level of cost to save the life of a Covid patient at up to £30,000, but also how much each life lost costs the U.K. economy.
It is understood the analysis shows that the cost of keeping the annual death rate below 50,000 would outweigh the cost to the U.K. economy of allowing it to rise above this level.
As i revealed earlier this month, the Government has put contingency plans in place should the rate of infection and deaths rise to an “unacceptable level”.
The source said: “The Prime Minister is minded to implement another lockdown or new restrictions only if the figure of annual deaths looks like it’s going to go above 50,000. That means deaths from Covid of 137 a day, or just under 1,000 a week.

But one of the Government’s most senior scientific advisers has also suggested the cost of saving lives could be a factor in the strategy.

The PCR test is far from unreliable, it delivers the desired result for whichever CT threshold is dialled in.

That’s not how they work. Each test is run and the Ct where it detects the ‘primer’ target is registered. If it’s found at 25 the test can and usually is run to 40 or even 45. It would be better to stop them all at 30 maximum.

As even the Covid-compliant CDC in the US now concedes, the PCR test can’t tell the difference between Covid and the flu. Flu seemingly disappeared last season only because it was rebadged as Covid. Post mortems will be needed to see if out of the average 1500 per week, 1000 have died OF covid and not from their underlying condition. Plus why would he believe his ‘advisors’ when so far, all of the numbers have been wrong.
An essential point. 1000 deaths a week is ~10% of mortality (varying by year and in-year).
No-one can point to the actual number of deaths from Covid without post-mortem evidence, so we are back at square one, where the only reliable indicator is the level of all-cause mortality : i.e. an alleged 1000 deaths pw ‘from’ ‘Covid’ is a figure that can’t be determined. We will be back into ‘casedemic’ misattribution territory.
What one can see is the relative level of all-cause mortality – which, again, will vary between years and in-year. So far, that has been unexceptional in historical terms – and there is little reason for change beyond the normal natural variation.
No one can demonstrate that a political decision saved a single life save by rerunning an identical scenarios with different decisions and seeing if the same happens consistently with and without the decision in question. That’s already impossible because it’s not possible to revive someone who has died in order to examine if a different decision would have kept him alive.
There is no science behind coronapolitics, just bullshit with numbers of the kind the woke brigade (and – to be fair – their political antagonists as well) always produce when they think something which is going to be harmful should really be done nevertheless.
Excess all cause mortality (England & Wales) over the last twelve months (upto the end of the second week in August 2021- wk 32) is 51,166
whereas ONS reports 89,727 C19 deaths over the same period.
A difference of 38,561.
This means either there were 38,561 fewer deaths from causes other than C19 or,
C19 deaths have been over reported by 38,561.

Even if 99.95% of the population of some region is Not Infected With Covid[tm], they’ll push for ever more drastic restrictions (Hamburg). The best solution other than scrapping PCR and LFT’s is for the labs to designate the CT rate for every positive test. Above 25 you are not infectious and a further test should be taken 2 days later to see which direction the CT rate is heading.
Anything under 25 on the first test and you are probably infectious.
Ignore all positive tests with a CT rate over 30.
Testing to a 45 CT rate is ridiculous.
Only test those that are symptomatic.

There’s a reason that up until now respiratory virus/bacteria testing was reserved for those who were seriously ill in hospital – because that’s the ONLY time a Dr needs to know!
Given that most covid patients seems to receive no treatment (oxygen appears to be the first line treatment and that can be tested with the clip thing on your finger) then testing only fuels the casedemic.
It’s a telling indictment of where we are as a society that the truth that everyone in their hearts knows – that saving lives at all costs is immoral, unnatural, irrational and unworkable – cannot be spoken of out loud. Until we reach the point where it’s common for people in positions of power to set out that position unashamedly, without fear of disappearing into the wilderness, we’re a hostage to fortune. I don’t think I will see it in my lifetime (hopefully a few decades).

Yes, indeed – even if the deceased was suffering from advanced Alzheimers and terminal cancer, and aged 95. Of course, they will be a “Covid death” even if either of the other terminal conditions actually killed them.

Well, it’s right to point out that the evidence for lockdowns saving lives is weak and that in fact they seem to have no effect/do the opposite. But let’s assume that a lockdown of some sort could be demonstrated to work, it wouldn’t necessarily be the right thing to do from a cost/benefit point of view, especially if you add something on the cost side for lost liberty, which any sane person would have to. The fine should never have been issued in the first place.
People’s lives are being ruined, and no-one really does anything about it.

I would be surprised if ANYONE died without some antibodies to one of the flu viruses in his bloodstream. There are around 10,000 to 15,000 deaths per week in England/Wales. We only need a tenth of these to have some trace…
The big killers are Heart, Cancer and Respiratory illnesses. Respiratory make up about 20% of deaths. So in an ‘average’ week a minimum of 2000 people might be expected to die of some respiratory cause. You don’t need much Covid to get to 1000….

How many people die per day from cancer or heart issues? If those numbers are greater than 137 per day we should shut the economy for ever. According to Cancer Research that number is more than 450 every day (2016 – 2018); British Heart Foundation over 460 per day from heart disease; a total of over 910 deaths per day that we just accept as life, and what happens when your time has come. None of this makes any sense, unless the Prime Minister is working for the Chinese, but coming up with an arbitrary number like 137 per day without any context of daily seasonal influenza deaths, or cancer deaths, or deaths caused by heart failure is unbelievable.
