Refuse to Get ‘Jabbed’? Pay $200 Health Insurance Surcharge Each Month, Delta Air Lines Tells Staff
Delta Air Lines has told its staff that if they don’t get vaccinated against Covid, they will be forced to pay a $200 monthly health insurance surcharge. This comes shortly after President Joe Biden urged U.S. companies to “require your employees to get vaccinated or face strict requirements”. The Guardian has the story.
In a new memo sent to Delta employees, CEO Ed Bastian announced that unvaccinated employees enrolled in Delta’s account-based healthcare plan will be subject to a $200 monthly surcharge starting November 1st.
“The average hospital stay for Covid has cost Delta $50,000 per person. This surcharge will be necessary to address the financial risk the decision to not vaccinate is creating for our company,” Bastian wrote.
Starting September 12th, any U.S. employee who is not fully vaccinated will be required to take a Covid test each week. Additionally, starting from September 30th, Delta’s Covid pay protection will be provided only to fully vaccinated individuals who experience breakthrough infections.
Currently, 75% of Delta staff are vaccinated. The airline has also partnered with the state of Georgia to operate the state’s largest mass vaccination site at the Delta Flight Museum, where approximately 35% of Georgia’s mass vaccination doses were administered to residents.
“While we can be proud of our 75% vaccination rate, the aggressiveness of the variant means we need to get many more of our people vaccinated, and as close to 100% as possible,” Bastian added in the memo.

Innit typical? They get a variant named after them and then they act like this. What is the world coming to?
I’d just take the test
Probably shop around for an independent health plan while I was about it, and start scanning the sits. vac pages.
Also, waiting with interest for admissions of voter regret from those who voted for Biden last November. Both Kate Andrews of the Spectator and Lionel Shriver wrote of their decision to support this old fool. I forget the word that describes a State that tries to kill its own people but this venal old sod has done nothing but oppress US citizens since he assumed office and became a public embarrassment to the West.
We used to laugh at the old Soviet system that almost propped up corpses for the people to applaud.
Whoops Apocalypse has come to pass.
“I forget the word that describes a State that tries to kill its own people”
democide, I think
Possibly – although I thought the word began with an ‘m’…..
Are not Israel reporting that 86% of ‘breakthrough’ cases are in the already double injected?
Delta Airlines stacking up future bills.
I expect ‘breakthrough’ is in quotes because they are actually adverse reactions largely due to the toxic spike protein?
I certainly hope so
Many supposedly ‘conservative’ (UK) or right of centre people (US) people supported Biden’s run for president because they were either naive, did as they were told (e.g. IMHO the Telegraph US desk staff) or were not really conservatives but Establishment Corporatist/Globalist Blairites pretending to readers to be conservatives. To that end, their in-built hatred of those who rock the boat/disrupt their system – Trump, DeSantis, Farage (in the UK), etc is targeted for hatred, wheras readers are constantly censored on related topics. I mean, anyone notice how in the Telegraph, IMHO most reports about US politics (especially that are hit pieces about Trump or pro-Biden, 2020 election, etc) Global Health Security* articles (especially those by the sections pandemic ‘editor’ Paul Nuki), anything about Ginger & Nutmeg (including on the Letters page), Black Lives Matter, feminist/women’s issues, LGBT etc, ethnic minorities, Islam or woke columns/reviews (e.g. film/TV reviews, certain columnists) have either no reader comments allowed, are heavily censored (critical comments of the report/collumn/review or subjects get deleted or cannot be posted) or who comments areas removed once the editor or author doesn’t like readers destroying their narrative and making them look bad, woke/leftist/establishment cronies/shills. I suspect the same happens in… Read more »
What do you think an Indian are for?
Would you elaborate? I’m not sure what you’re talking about/referring to.
All about the money, someone makes a profit
Just point at Biden, mention his ailing faculties and say that the vaccine caused it. Tell them to prove otherwise
Grauniad. Meh.
Health Insurance…? I’d be interested in which underwriter will take on this policy. I checked last year and there is not a single insurance company in the world that will insure any human taking or not taking this gene therapy. Check it out yourselves…
Indeed… and if you loose a loved one or a breadwinner… to vaxx damage… think compensation is easily won? EErghhh nope….

This is the merger of state and corporate powers. Didn’t Musolini have a name for this??
Oh that’s right, fascism
To any US readers out there, I would suggest you have a look at this article on the FDA’s Approval of the Pfizer Vaccine – https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/mainstream-media-fda-approval-pfizer-vaccine/
It looks like only the Pfizer Comirnaty vaccine has approval. The FDA has not approved the Pfizer BioNTech vaccines, nor any COVID vaccines for the 12- to 15-year age group, nor any booster doses for anyone.
I don’t really understand how USA health insurance works. I presume if you get a private policy you pay premiums based on individualised risk? And if your employer provides it then they take on the responsibility of covering everyone regardless?
Because it seems to me that if employers are going to be taking a hybrid approach and taking individual risk into account then there’s a hell of a lot of more important things than covid jabs?!?!?! Obesity, smoking, heart disease, stress…surely these things “cost” more?!
I’m no actuarial scientist but these are the people who should know better than anyone the actual minuscule risk that covid provides.
I wonder: might more of their employees take the jab if they were given a bonus instead of a $200 fine? Yeah, I know it’s a form of coercion/bribery. But like grandma always said, you can catch more flies with sugar than vinegar. Penalizing people can make them more resistant.
$200pm?! That’s a disgrace, even if it were reasonable as a premise. Given that the vast majority of people working for the airline would not be in the most vulnerable group – the very elderly, or immuno-compromised (who likely would not be working due to being ill), then the risk of contracting COVID and needing treatment in hospital would be minimal.
This would not include those perhaps who were obese – and that would put them in a ‘vulnerable group’ which would likely change their odds and, if it were me (unless I could slim down significantly and get healthy asap) would probably get the jab (I haven’t due to the low risk for me and unknown long term risks of the jabs).

“Starting 12 September, any US employee who is not fully vaccinated will be required to take a Covid test each week. Additionally, starting from 30 September, Delta’s Covid pay protection will be provided only to fully vaccinated individuals who experience breakthrough infections.”
So they are expecting their vaccinated staff to get infected are are happy to pay for infected vaccinated staff, but not infected unvaccinated staff? Err what!!
If the Data from Israel is anything to go by they will be paying out a lot more to the vaccinated staff, although I am now at the stage of understanding that nothing, not science, not medicine, not common sense, absolutely nothing is going to stop the quacksine juggernaut.
